A lot of makeup artists will carry around makeup that appears to be in the form of what you call "no name." It really is that they like taking products out of their original packaging and organizing them together in their own palettes. It makes it easier so that if they like one blush from one face palette and another from another one and they use them all the time, they don't have to carry all the palettes around.
Omg the last model. She’s got beautiful skin! I hate the fact everybody now seems to think they are makeup artists and load themselves with lots of makeup they don’t even need
Y'all, yes, she blew on the brush and used her fingers. She's a pro and she knows the name of the game on live TV is "fast." You have not only the hosts moving you along, but you can see the producers and segment directors off-camera freaking out and gesturing at you/mouthing words like "WRAP IT UP." Live TV is a different animal.
Laura 24601 lol, I flinched when she blew on the brush. When I went to makeup school we were always reminded to not blow on our brushes. I just saw my instructor in my mind reprimanding me lol but I agree with you :)
I’ve done live makeup on TV for years- never once did I blow on a brush. Absolutely not needed. Working with a short amount of time is a skill- and there’s no need to cut those corners. It’s in her masterclass- it’s simply a Bobbi technique she believes in.
Roger Acosta Jefree star is not a makeup artist, he’s a youtuber/beauty guru. Which at this point everyone knows the difference: Beauty gurus = drag queen cake makeup. Makeup artists = beautiful professional makeup. ALSO: why should a woman prefer a racist man - who is always making misogynous comments - over a renowned, successful and professional woman? lol
Friends-please never blow on your brushes. It’s extremely unhygienic (especially doing another persons makeup) Tap any additional powder off if needed, but start training yourself to develop the muscle memory needed by picking up small amounts of pigment and building it up. I also completely unsubscribe from the rule of having to line the entire lash line. Lining the upper lash line defines lashes and can help to change the shape of the eye (elongating, lifting it). The way you line is based upon eye shape as well as the look you want to achieve. It kills me when artists make hard fast rules for women- this is art. Teach the art. I’ve been in this industry for over a decade and have seen it change tremendously.
True MUA use their spit all the time or at least that’s what they say. I think she forgot where she was bc that’s a method she’s so used to. I’d never do that and I’m only applying makeup on myself!
It depends, Bobby is basically saying embrace yourself, do your make up but don’t change your entire face, which I agree. It is exhausting to do make up and look completely different. I think Bobby Brown has her followers because those followers aren’t looking to change the shape of the eye for example, just enhance them.
@@Yymmcc1205 I’d argue that Bobby is providing a very antiquated method of eye makeup application and that instead I’m arguing that application should be completely arbitrary based on the shape of ones eyes, face, and aesthetic. That was kinda my point. Bobbi became successful in the nineties due to her very straight forward, naturalistic approach with efficacious products that didn’t compete with high artistry brands.

Grace Warisnaratorn Way too short of a segment. Even Mario’s segment on the Today Show was super rushed. They need to give makeup artist longer time than the 2 minute introduction and three minutes on models, leaving only one minute per person. I think people would definitely watch of the segment had double the time and would appreciate it.
Honestly I like that better as it was more simple and just enhanced your beauty instead of changing it. Girls these days take makeup overboard, many can't leave their house without it, and don't get me started on the crazy sesame street eye lashes they be wearing.
My What the foundation is full of hunks of stuff that they apparently know or knew about since when I complained they told me it would dissolve if I held it between my fingers -- WRONG! the hunks sit on my face and I have to pick them off before I go out. I live in Australia and have watched about 3 if these videos by highly respected makup artists who are blindly told to "come in and we will talk to you and put you on television. Only to then sprout out questions they know nothing about and proceed to hurry the gust along who never get a chance to have the input they expected shortened by two vacant eyed unknowledgable "I am a super star on American television" who have no idea how to interview these highly regarded ladies. If you watch it again take not of the woman in the green dress who couldn't give a toss about what it was about - she has her own makeup artist - I call her the fakes of the two. There's my rant .
I saw her blow on the brush too! What the heck? I was taught in beauty school to never blow on the brush, whether you're doing your own or someone else's makeup!
Triggered, snowflake? Black people have been ignored for 450 years and two white models were "ignored" (according to you) and you're butthurt? Give me a break. Has to be discrimination for it to be reversed.
Marion S. She left the brand. She’s no longer with the company. I think she left a couple of years ago. So it has her name on it but she isn’t the one making the decisions or the products.
Berta Diaz I agree. In fact her eye makeup is too dark, it makes her eyes looked downturned. Also, depends on the eye shape if you go all the way to the inner corner with eyeliner. Not a good look for older women or hooded eyes.
She does very simple/simplistic makeup. She doesn’t do the fancy stuff like cut crease, extreme extravagant makeup etc. but I don’t know if it’s a style or she can’t actually do it 😂
I was thinking the same. I’m like what did she teach me that I didn’t already know? And the techniques she mentioned were common sense things I already knew. Use bronzer on ur neck, check to see if foundation matches ur face skin tone, and use a nude color for lips. She didn’t do anything to the last girls lips except apply a gloss.
Thomas Ebert What else would you have advised her to do with basically one minute per person? Not being sarcastic, but curious about your thoughts. I think the show should have given this segment more time so we could have learned more tips that wasn’t obvious.
You gotta line the full top eye lid.. honey.. that's not true u don't gotta do anything and it closes my eye off so much more than otherwise LEGIT ! I cannot
She’s very one minded when it comes to makeup. She’s the typical “makeup should only enhance your natural beauty” type. Which if that is what you’re into, then good for you. But don’t make others who use makeup as art expression feel shamed for wanting to contour their nose.
You are not considering the demographic of the Today Show viewers. These are typically stay-at-home moms who aren't wearing a tacky, blinding highlight with brows so bold they look like they were stamped on. She is certainly not someone to shame others just because she teaches a technique that differs from the typical 20-something self-taught UA-camr. She has a different style and approach to makeup and that's 100% okay. Enhancing natural beauty is a pretty honorable and reasonable goal if you ask me because it is empowering and gives women confidence in who they are, not who they make themselves up to be.
She has shamed other people’s techniques before tho. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with only using makeup to enhance what you already have. That’s totally okay to do. But people who do glam makeup, with highlight and brows that look gorgeous and well done shouldn’t be shamed bc they maybe accentuated their features. And no, art expression with makeup is not clown makeup.
Contouring the shape of your nose is not 'art' it's literally changing your features - true artistic makeup is editorial, theatrical or special effects. Makeup for the purpose of beauty should be about enhancing what you have naturally and showcasing the best parts of you, not completely changing your face to look like someone else or to change your features entirely.
B.b. Gun If she had sanitized her hands first. Her fingers were not clean. She touched her supplies, her models’ hair, her own hair and her brushes before touching that ladies lips.
Thelma Evans From my understanding, it’s very common for making artists to be using their fingertips. But a good point you make. Also I think it’s important for them to wash their hands with soap instead of using hand sanitizer because the alcohol could dry out the client’s lips.
There are many famous Bobbi Browns. Not same spelling of course. But there is this one. There is the famous model that married lead singer of Warrent also starred in videos ... there is the late whitney Houston husband father of her child.. bobbi christina
She is so beautiful, I think she looks 28 only, not a day older. I want to learn whatever she does, I watched this video over and over. Please tell me anyone who is she? Is she an actress?
Even when other people put on my foundation no color seems to match. Often too light looks worse than little to dark.Like w It medium looks best a little darker. L med too light wrinkles accentuated.
Lulu Tube Lulu, blowing brushes from your mouth is not hygiene and creates bacteria duh!!!! All pro make up artist know this!! You’re supposed to twirl and tap the excess off and away from the client before applying on the face. Look at this way... if the make up artist is a smoker. Comes back from smoking break and starts doing your make up and blowing brushes from his or her mouth knowing he or she smoked cigarettes. Would you be ok with that?? Think about it. It’s imperative to keep the brushes sanitary and away from the mouth.
It appears like I'm obsessed with makeup. I'm MORE obsessed with makeup containers. Growing up I would cry and mom would yell at me and say "Fix your makeup." I always had to carry all my makeup with me, which frustrated me because I don't like carrying a lot of stuff with me. But then my trying to get makeup portable took on a life of its own. An engineer who has no need for a bionic limb can becomes obsessed with engineering the perfect bionic limb. I want to want to be ambitious enough to make myself up everyday. Even if I had zero interest in wearing makeup, if I had a friend who wore makeup and said to me "Dammit it's frustrating... why can't they make touch-up makeup more compact." I would set out to solve her problem.
So where all all the extra repair skincare balms some of us have been using for so many years now?? We have been paying pretty big bucks for quite a while, being faithful Bobbi Brown consumers.... and now we can not find any of those products on either Nordstrom or the Bobbi Brown site-???
For a professional make up artist blowing on your brushes before applying make up on somebody else is just so unsanitary very surprised to see that, not a fan at all 😐

Berta Diaz I agree. In fact her eye makeup is too dark, it makes her eyes looked downturned. Also, depends on the eye shape if you go all the way to the inner corner with eyeliner. Not a good look for older women or hooded eyes.
I think she's over rated.
She didn’t do anything to the last girls lips except apply a gloss.
ok so im not the only one lol..
🎂Bobbi Brown 04-14-2022
She picked the easiest task here to focus on. Disappointed.
Thomas Ebert What else would you have advised her to do with basically one minute per person? Not being sarcastic, but curious about your thoughts. I think the show should have given this segment more time so we could have learned more tips that wasn’t obvious.
I think so to who ever planned that video was not right, it was way to quick, they should have given her more time
Anybody from the audience could have done those corrections. Seriously, black liner on the lips??!?? Unless you are a Goth.
You gotta line the full top eye lid.. honey.. that's not true u don't gotta do anything and it closes my eye off so much more than otherwise LEGIT ! I cannot
The first model is like get me out of here lol
Bobbi brown u r so beautiful 🥺❤️
@@darakristi 100% with you.
@@peytonteague5965 Please tell me where I can read about what she has said when shaming others.
Came here after hearing EXO Kai is the 1st male muse for bobbi Brown. ❤
Couldn't find a model without bangs covering her brows?
She has a background as an esthetician. She should say to never blow on your brushes then apply makeup. That’s putting bacteria back into your pores.
Is she using her darn fingers on people’s lips?
Thelma Evans there’s nothing wrong with that. Fingers can be clean. However there is something wrong with Bobbi blowing on the brushes.
@@alexandrar.4900 The alcohol literally evaporates in seconds, so it won't affect the client's lips whatsoever
Better than using her feet tho 🤣
this lady once said that I shouldn't contour my nose and I almost fainted
There are many famous Bobbi Browns. Not same spelling of course. But there is this one. There is the famous model that married lead singer of Warrent also starred in videos ... there is the late whitney Houston husband father of her child.. bobbi christina
wear foundation that matches my skin and use bronzer if I want to be tanner? wow. earth shattering.
Did Bobbi just blow the brow brush? 😶
she blows the brushes.. OMG!
why omg she blows them so she can remove any powder or something
@@Lulu-tt2ge it's not hygenic it's disgusting blowing germs onto people's faces
Yessss I noticed that too!! Omg so done with her BS!
Exactly my thought! 😱
She could have tapped the brush 👀
It appears like I'm obsessed with makeup. I'm MORE obsessed with makeup containers.
Growing up I would cry and mom would yell at me and say "Fix your makeup."
I always had to carry all my makeup with me, which frustrated me because I don't like carrying a lot of stuff with me.
But then my trying to get makeup portable took on a life of its own.
An engineer who has no need for a bionic limb can becomes obsessed with engineering the perfect bionic limb.
I want to want to be ambitious enough to make myself up everyday.
Even if I had zero interest in wearing makeup, if I had a friend who wore makeup and said to me "Dammit it's frustrating... why can't they make touch-up makeup more compact."
I would set out to solve her problem.
Sheinelle's pony tail
So where all all the extra repair skincare balms some of us have been using for so many years now?? We have been paying pretty big bucks for quite a while, being faithful Bobbi Brown consumers.... and now we can not find any of those products on either Nordstrom or the Bobbi Brown site-???
Does anyone know what blush she uses on a blonde?
Can she fix her blush mistake?
I believe that Bobbi Brown sold her makeup company.
P.M. Patterson Yes she did!
Wow
Inclusion wins Ralph Lauren, Bobby Brown, Saint Laurent, Nicole Miller...
cool …….
She doesn’t leave ANY room for creativity or enjoyment in makeup. Trust and believe, she doesn’t even want to be doing it anymore.
It's an extremely "classic" makeup style, which a lot of people enjoy? Personally I don't mind it as much
For a professional make up artist blowing on your brushes before applying make up on somebody else is just so unsanitary very surprised to see that, not a fan at all 😐
Lol MUA do it all the time. Kevyn Aucoin did. Drag Queens do. It’s what you do when you’re on a time crunch and have to be resourceful backstage etc lol
What’s the song in the background
I really don’t ‘get’ Bobbi Brown. She actually doesn’t seem particularly excellent at her craft, nor is her demeanor anything special. I could be wrong, just my impression
LittleHoop She isn’t. Her makeup is always sloppy. I’ve been watching her for years and it’s her assistants who are good at applying makeup.
@@BbGun-lw5vi Interesting. Also, I never found her own makeup to be noteworthy in any way...it's like, what am I missing, in this megastar of makeup?!
The Face Base is the only thing noteworthy
Really great tips! Women don't look good with too much make up. Less is more.
I won’t ever watch one of these for tv clips again. Rush rush rush so pointless.
Bobbie Brown you look so young tjose glasses steal the show its all I see. You should show off youryouthful look clear glasses (please look upSwiss Flex clear glasses. I het compliments in them all of the time. Very few eyeglass places carry them. They look more sophisticated than the generic clear that look like kids glasses.)or at least not bl3avk frames they dont look good on even brad pitt. All you see are these black frames like a cartoon character. Watch the compliments if you get swiss flex or even a subtle chetah.Show off your face!

The thing is..they NEVER have my color at Walmart :/
Come on bobbi. You blew spit on the brush!! And then used the brush on yourself and back on the model. Yikes
I don’t get grossed out that easily but when I saw her blow in that brush and apply it to the client and then put lipstick on the other client with her fingers 🤢 I’m glad Bobbi Brown isn’t one of my go to makeup brands cause I can never look at it the same again.
Yeah I’m don’t blow on the brush to get bronzer or blush off that’s unhygienic… you can just tap the brush on something hard..
