what a nice and simple woman ...i liked when she sad to lily.."you don't need too much makeup.." that is true makeup artist, person who will emphasize your natural beauty not transform you to totally different person with tone of makeup on your face

leona paric there are people who want flawless skin and to emphasis there beauty then there are people who think of make up as a craft as a transformation a true makeup artist does not have to believe in that though I agree lily has great skin

I personally don't wear makeup to "emphasize my natural beauty". I don't wear makeup to feel more beautiful or hide my imperfections. I wear it to literally transform my face and be an artist. When I wear makeup I want people to know I'm wearing makeup. I enjoy expressing myself through makeup as an art-form. But I never do "minimalist/clean/natural makeup" like Bobbi Brown because I never felt like I *needed* makeup in the first place. My face is beautiful as it is - so I ONLY do it for fun.

honestly, you haven't seemed this enthusiastic in a long while in a video, and this is not a criticism at all! I love Bobbi's philosophy towards makeup. I've seen a lot of mean comments in her videos from people saying that she's not that great in makeup and stuff but people forget that you don't stay in this business for as long as she has if you don't have what it takes to survive in it. Since beauty channels on youtube became a huge thing, people, particularly the younger generations, have been obsessed with trends like trying to look like Kim Kardashian or her sister Kylie, with the overdrawn lips, over-caked, over-bronzed, over-sculpted and over-highlighted skin. I agree that makeup is all about freedom in expressing yourself and if you're into that look, then by all means, do it. I personally cringe when I look at these young youtubers (with great skin) slapping on waaayy too much concealer under the eyes, under-blend their cheek contour with the excuse that they want a sharper cheekbone structure and highlight their faces to the heavens.
Lucy Jones That's also why the older youtubers like Pixiwoo and Lisa Eldridge have a smaller following and a more mature audience (I'm 30), despite their vast knowledge and experience and having been around longer on youtube than these younger youtubers (and self-proclaimed makeup gurus).
I agree. People who say that know very little about makeup. Using a pound of it and posing on Instagram doesn't make someone an artist.
Kristi Marie Yeah. I hate it when people use the term "guru" so loosely. Guru essentially means master. Just because you know how to slap on tons of full coverage foundation and do a smoky eye, it doesn't make you a master of makeup. Beauty encompasses more than just makeup and if you look at Lisa Eldridge you'd see that she truly has a lot of knowledge, not just in makeup application, but also in skincare. Her product knowledge as far as ingredients go and her genuine interest in the history of makeup really puts in a different league from all the other youtubers. She's never heavy-handed in her makeup application but the result is always effortlessly beautiful and flawless.

Bemused as to why anyone dislike this video. It has to be said that Bobbi Brown comes across as extremely humble, genuine and personable. For such a huge icon that's world class I think she's incredible all round.

This brought back a very good memory for me--my first visit to London, I was 15 and a family friend arranged a makeover at the Bobbi Brown counter at Harrod's, because she knew I loved the book Bobbi had written (only one at the time). It was such a thrill, and I took tons of selfies afterwards, and mind you, this was long before selfies and smartphones existed. I'll never forget how wonderful I felt that day!

Bobbi is amazing. My mom bought me a Bobbi Brown book when I was in middle school, and I've loved her ever since. When she was doing your makeup it looked like she was literally just slapping it on with no purpose and you looked amazing! SHES INCREDIBLE!

Bobbi Brown is my favorite! I bought her first book 20+ years ago and have been a loyal customer and student ever since. Her products are easy to find now, but in the beginning I used to drive two hours to the nearest Nordstrom in order to purchase them. Love her and her beauty philosophy!
