This game looks to be 10 years behind FIFA. The next iterations have so much worl to do! All the players play the same (it looks like as I've not played it yet). I know it's super hard and arduous to have players literally play like they do in real life and that's maybe 5 years away in these games but jeez at least they're making adjustments prior to the proper release.
Yeah, I was really hoping before early access launched, that this would be the game where teams would attempt to play more like their real life counter parts. And it would make the game feel more realistic. At the moment aside from France and Australia all the other teams are basically just copied and pasted players from one team to another, so theres still a chance that will change in the larger updates. But im with you, I would like to see a lot more varience in the style the teams play.
Does it not bother anyone else that the tackle animations are rugby league animations??? It just feels completely wrong. The collision situations in union vs league are completely different.
Its a hot topic on the FAQ boards, theyve said they reused assests from the League game, and thier team is more based in rugby legaue than union so they are trying to transition. Animations definitly need a lot of reworking before full release to make it feel like union.
It's a fucking embarrassment of a game; a complete shambles. Ironically a lesson in marketing when their marketing was so poor. They made the right noises when they made their infrequent noises. If the final product resembles this, it's a fucking joke.
@maddragonrugby the button ‘x’ is for jackalling but it is a bit bugged meaning that u can use it whenever, ‘y’ is used for trying to attack the breakdown like clearing it so someone can jackal the ball
I genuinely don't get why they didn't copy the rugby 22 passing mechanique. It makes passing a bit tricky but also rewarding, it's not just about choosing the right option.
Do we know if there are plans to sort out the player dimensions? seems like everyone is the same size in both weight and height at the moment. Doesn’t really put across the realistic mismatches that happen on a rugby pitch
Need to add audio of crowd singing. Scotland Wales England Ireland plus other big country belt out a song at games. Need to put this in. Also its to prestine looking fields look to green. Need to get it up to standards of EA Sports game play from 2008 no reason with all technology it should be struggling.
Good video ! Spectators still have sunglasses, still a lot of work but looks like they are on the right path! Hope the big update will provide a good base!
Yeah I imagine th eaudience will be one of th elast things they touch, all have sunglasses, about 90% have a baseball cap, and there is about 4 different t-shirt styles. Im not sure why they dont have th ecrowd wearing team jerseys of the teams playing in the game. Would instantly make it feel more real.
@@MaDDragonRugby RLL4 was such a good game of rugby (open play ) developed by BA ,if they could just find the way to do the transition right in terms of rules ,animations,gameplay and features of that game (stadium creator,good graphics plus a lot of cool stuff,2017 and people still making content today,most likely best sports game of that year for me) i think they will do a good job!
Not sure if its already in the game or possible but one thing i would like to see added is player traits. For example at 12 you can have a hard running centre or more of a ball playing player. Be nice to have traits to make players feel a bit different.
Theres currently only 2 set cameras on the side and end-to-end. Im not sure if they plan to maybe add sliders to the game to change the hieght of the camera or what have you. From reading the patch notes, not a lot of focus has been put on updating cameras yet, so might come later.
Yep good call bud. Would be great if they added sliders to gameplay cameras so we can implement how we'd like to see the game played. They're gettin there slowly but definitely interested in ur coverage on next week's major patch.👍
I'm hoping the turnovers get sorted by the time of full release because I'm not keen on playing easiest level as that means better scores and hammerings for the AI 🤷. Plus the RB/LB instead of Y for selecting full back but other than that, everything seems on the right track 👍.
Yeah I really dislike that basically every video on youtube seems to be everyone playing on easy. I have won games on the hardest difficulty, but the game just just both teams stuck on the half way line doing endless rucks for 99% ofthe game, the AI never kicks posession away, and you cant win a turnover so nothing happens.. It does feel like easy difficulties are the only way to open a match up and feel enjoyable to play. Hopefully they find some nice adjustments in the difficulty, to make it more enjoyable to play stronger opponents.

The game start to be better slowly. I think it could be the best rugby vidéo game never released. After this 3rd update. The passing and kicking are really better. Now play with kicking is fun and more realistic. There is again a lot of works but i think, in 2 or 3 month, this game will be very good.
Can you set defensive lines and attacking lines while playing ( deeper, wider, narrower, rush up etc) I hope they can soon make the ball always visible when kicking in the air, similar to FIFA. It makes a very cool visual advancement and adds to the scope of the game. But it's definitely improving
Also goal kicking camera angles and the difficulty needs to be improved. Kicking for goal should be super interesting ( like a direct free kick in FIFA)

With this patch, my game does not crash anymore. That scrumhalf running into the pack is still there. Gameplay still cr@p, but a lot better. How do you feel about the player names not being with the character. I find it difficult to see my player and the name at the bottom to understand who is actually running/tacking etc I ma too stu[pid for the scrum. Every time I hook the ball, the scrum collapses and I get a penalty against me 😆
Is there player ratings/rankinings so you can see their skills and power bars to see what they're good at and if they have it does it translate to games?
I dont believe so at the minute, there must be some sort of stats in the background because speed and ability to kick definitly seem to change from player to player, but with no team management theres no way for us to see the stat breakdown yet.
Man I hope a decent studio makes a rugby game this studio looks mediocre at best, field looks like it’s painted on a flat surface, movements seem very robotic so much about it seems very unnatural.
The analog stick is coming in to its own more with each update, but until we get set plays there isnt alot to catch you out on defence, as you say just swp to a play and press tackle. Hoping they can improve the AI tactics to try and work around your defence rather than head straight for it.
I enjoyed my time with Rugby 20, I just wish it had some higher difficulties, eventually I was winning too often, with Rugby 25 coming out, you might be able to pick up Rugby 22 pretty cheap to have the upgrade.
At the minute there just isnt a lot of ways to give away penalties in the gsame full stop, I think the only way is to collapse the scrum. Theres no offside rule, illegal tackle rule, or illegal action at the ruck that I have seen. So penalties are very few and far between.
Anyone find it unacceptable that they are reusing animations from the rugby league games, they shouldn’t be using them at all it’s a whole different code no matter what reason. Just straight laziness from the devs

Rugby Union doesn't all have players of the same size and speed like League. This needs fixing. The floating passing which kills momentum needs scraping also. Rugby nations on the iphone is currently more enjoyable and better than this. Plus why doesn't the commentator state the players name? Whats the point of travelling the world scanning faces if the names are not mentioned in game.

I havnt seen many people mention the grass colour actuallu, it is pretty green, drop your thoughts on the FAQ page, I also think it would be fun if the grass got chruned up a bit in different weather and from where scrums take place.

I'm still really optimistic for this game to be great, but it seems they have a long way to go. The way players enter the ruck looks so uncanny.

Defence is pretty much press A tap B and repeat. Gameplay is so unsatisfactory and boring

this game was rushed it has so much potential to be the best rugby game ever made
Does opposition ever give away pens? R20/22 they never seemed to. All scores would be 21-7 etc. never pens
