That auto serve is a bug that was caused by the last update and you are fatiguing so quickly because you are using power shots almost exclusively. Even if you don't max out the power it still reduces stamina.
I haven't played this game, but surely you can control the depth of your returns, every shot you hit Trev just goes to centre depth rather than getting any penetration. Are you sure you're not missing something?
