If you two can imagine an entire crowd fully engaged, no cellphones or cameras, maybe a lighter..lol but just completely focused completely on the band on stage....that was the beauty of going to a concert back in the 80s
I saw that show, but it was general admission which meant you could stand on the floor or pick your seats. We chose the floor. Not bad for twenty something dollars. My kids are so jealous.😅
Can't believe you haven't done Wanted Dead or Alive yet. It's one of their biggest hits and played daily on most classic rock stations. Definitely needs to be on your Jovi resume.
Jbj has never gotten enough praise for his showmanship. His powerful stage presence. His ability to move tens of thousands of people in the arenas, etc. Great reaction you guys!
A couple other great Bon Jovi songs to check out are "Have a Nice Day" and "Raise your Hands" Also bon Jovi is a really good person in general, he owns a couple restaurants where you pay whatever you can for anything on the menu and if you can't afford to pay anything (like if you're homeless or something) you can work for your meal if you're able to but if not you don't have to pay. And his restaurants are supposed to have really good food too.
I also saw them live in '89 at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana! My sister and I put hand prints on the butt of our ripped jeans and painted "lay your hands on me" in puff paint 😆
There wasn’t nothing as cool as them opening the concert with this. When he popped up out of the floor… we all went nuts. Some of the best and most fun concerts I’ve been to.
Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora... MTV Video Music Awards... Livin' on a Prayer/Wanted Dead or Alive. Basically started the whole "Unplugged" movement that many of the 80s rock bands followed. You will love it, I assure you. You got to give the people what they want!
Anyone who got to see Bon Jovi on the Slippery When Wet amd New Jersey tours like myself experienced the hey days of Bon Jovi taking fans and arenas, stadiums by storm they were truly so huge and couldn't miss with their songwriting and performances. They ruled. If you want to know just how big they were read the book Hitman about the big moguls who owned the major record labels in the 80s. Bon Jovi literally rescued and saved Polygram records and really set the tone for the Hair Band craze. Bon Jovi is more than that label but every company wanted a clone Bon Jovi. Jon helped Kevin Sabo and Skid Row, Cinderella and others and wrote songs for other artists like Alice Cooper.
*I still have my T-shirt & ticket stub from this concert at the Tacoma Dome May 10, 1989, when they shot this video. We got this intro & song at the start of the show and again in the middle. He told us they were gonna take a break and everyone go to the bathroom and fix their makeup & hair so everyone's "camera ready". It was a blast.*
Their live performances are insane! Richie Sambora is truly ridiculously amazing and has great solo work as well! I always had a bit of a crush on him since I was a kid 😊
I was so excited when I saw this notification pop up! I KNEW you guys would love it! One of my faves of Bon Jovi, used to blast this so loud in my car and my middle school age son wanted it louder. Awesome song to rock out to in the car!
I had Jon Bon Jovi all over my room in high school. The walls, the door, my furniture... I had a door poster on the front of my bedroom door so it was visible in the hallway when I closed my door and went to bed and my mom would say goodnight to him. 😂
They opened with this song when I saw them live in '90 at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. My sister and I painted hand prints on the butt of our ripped jeans and painted "lay your hands on me" in puff paint 😆 Absolutely epic show that I still think about almost 35 years later!
Bon Jovi standing on a T bar as he floated over the crowd singing silent night to end the show on slippery when wet tour will always be one of my greatest concert memories
Just a FYI Jon Bon Jovi owns 3 restaurants that make no profit. If you are on the streets and hungry go on in, order a good meal then wash dishes for an hour. It's all about people down on their luck being feed and treated with respect. My hat is off to Jon!
Saw this band live. Forget 90 minutes or 2 hour sets. THREE HOURS of hit after hit after hit. If you like this one the next one has to be RAISE YOUR HANDS. You will love it
I love that BonJovi videos are so often about their concerts because they were even better live every time I saw them. They made an effort to make catwalks or fly over the audience in a harness in a arena so it wasn’t just the front rows to see Jon up close. It was crazy but it made you feel like they cared about all their fans.
Cheers, fam!! A good follow up to this would be "Raise Your Hands!". Their success is hard to describe. They were PHENOMENAL!!! As a 20 something during their debut, I can say they were REALLY something!!! Not as hard as the "Crue", not as "traditional" as Aerosmith, or international as AC/DC. They were AMERICAN rockers that DOMINATED their particular niche...
Last time I saw them in the early 2000s…. What a great show. They really give incredible music. Best thing was Ritchie Sambora, his vocals and I counted 17 different guitars. He’s very underrated. And before the facelift, he was some sweet eye candy! Can’t afford concert tickets anymore!
I absolutely love that you guys are giving metal a second life through fresh eyes by viewing and reacting to videos like this.. Though Ozzy is labeled as the "prince of darkness", an artist that ends up playing "second banana" to Ozzy is Alice Cooper.. And he's one HELL of a showman / musician...
Absolutely love Bon Jovi! Don't have a bad song, great rockers, fantastic ballads, wonderful videos, what's not to love? Please give us some more Bon Jovi!
Bon Jovi still involves the audience. I believe Bon Jovi is still rocking. I've been to his concert .. they're awesome❣️ He also acted in a couple movies. Thnx j & Amber. Enjoy the evening.
My very 1st concert right here 1989 when I was 19. I was on the side of the stage so could see him pop up through the floor to kick the night off. It was just the best concert!!!
You guys haven't even scratched the surface yet with Bon Jovi. Every song from Slippery When Wet, New Jersey, and Keep the Faith was great. The song Keep the Faith has one of the best opening bass lines.
I was not a fan, but my wife wanted to go see him in the 90s and he totally made me a fan, consummate showman and a great band! I think this my favorite song. Loved your reaction when it kicked in full gear!
You guys like a lot of people including me, have not seen Bon Jovi in concert and they know that....son this is a video that shows people who never seen them in concert what goes on in their concerts. Great band! Great reaction!!!
'Bout time! Took you forever to see this.😂😂😂 Bon Jovi always rocked, ballads included. Blaze of Glory is rock too, it was just used for Young Guns western movie. That doesn't mean it goes into a western music genre🤔 it is still Rock. Keep The Faith Dry County Wanted Dead Or Alive Few more greats from Bon Jovi, but the list is long.
Seen this LIVE back in the day and 2 other times also and they always gave you your moneys worth. Great with the fans, always seemed personal. Just a hell of alot of FUN. The way its suppose to be. Love you guys❤❤
I've read a lot of these comments and everybody is suggesting the same one.... come on now Wanted Dead or Alive can't believe y'all heading down to it yet. It's so iconic!! But thanks for the Jovi!!🤟✌️
This brings back so many memories!!! I saw Bon Jovi 8 times in concert and was blown away every time! I loved growing up in the 80’s and seeing so many great bands!!
Bon Jovi always put on a great great, entertaining show..... lights, fireworks, boardwalks, wires to fly them over the crowd..... plus you know they were having fun up there and wanted to be there. Hell, even saw them one day at an outdoor show in Sydney where it stormed so bad it hailed (nowhere to hide from that in the crowd) and rained so hard that it delayed the start of the concert, but they still came out after and played for 2+ hrs then did an encore as people started to stream out of the venue. Amazing singers, songwriters, musicians and entertainers, a pity that Ritchie didn't stick around longer but still they are/were an amazing band that took a lot of crap because of Jon's looks, but they showed that they weren't just a glam rock band. 'Bed Of Roses my fave song of theirs, Dry County (extended version), Born to be my baby, Living In Sin, Thank you for Loving Me'.... lots of great songs. Another one sung by Richie is "If I Can't Have Your Love' showcases his amazing voice, 'Memphis lives in me' is another great one sung by the keyboardist Dave Bryan.....
If I had a time machine, I would go back to this show at Giants Stadium. I get chills every time I watch this video. Fortunately, i did get to see them there 12 years later. My best friend and I made a trip out of it by going to his childhood home, his high school, and his current home.
Classic Bon Jovi. Their concerts are always a great time. I've seen them numerous times. The last one was canceled due to the pandemic. They did a few shows in the States after that and it seems like Jon has lost his voice. Hopefully he gets it back. Would love to see them again.
Been waiting for SO long for this one. A banger from start to finish. The EXTENDED official video for We're Not Gonna Take It (Twisted Sister) and Kids Wanna Rock (Bryan Adams) are two more that I would LOVE to see your reactions too. Much love from Canada! :)
I was there in 1984 when Bon Jovi debuted with Runaway. I bought every album. This one was on New Jersey album in 1988. Most of their epic hits were on the 3rd and 4th albums. Check out their more obscure 2nd album with hits like "In And Out of Love" and Tokyo Road". You've still missed their heaviest rocker "Raise Your Hands". Jay has probably heard it at stadium ball games.
Moscow music peace festival 1989 would be a good place to start 😊 Also, the MTV unplugged (the first ever was Bon Jovi - an evening with). Wembley in the 90s and so many others ❤
Their live version of this song from Wembley Stadium in 1995 was out of this world Edit: this same show they did a song called Dry County - if you want to see some serious Richie Sambora skills, this is the one
It was the best time to be alive and to be a teenager. I had more posters of this man on my wall. It was crazy and I saw him seven times in concert. I truly feel bad for people that didn’t live in that decade🥲 Gen X !!Rock on🤘🤘
If you really want to hear a great crowd involve in a Bon Jovi song, I would recommend listening to them singing "Drift Away" Live in Cincinnati in 1987. You can find this on UA-cam. This is one of their best concerts, as well as their performance at Wembley Stadium 1995 "Always" and "Dry County"
Awesome t-shirt, Amber! Congratulations to the Lady Sooners Softball team on their HISTORIC season! 61-1! 🤯 55+ straight game winning streak! 🤯🤯 Nat'l Championship 3peat! 🤯🤯🤯 They're an amazing group of young women on and off the field. It was a blast watching them throughout the Tournament. 🥎🏆🎉 ✌😎

I still remember going with my mom to the 1st show on this tour with this stage and set up in Dallas, Tx in 1988. And when they came out that place went absolutely nuts.
Check out blood on blood, fear, let it rock, social disease, homebound train all from bon jovi. Really anything from the first album through the New jersey album. It will rock you
If you'd ask me for my favorite top 10 songs, I'm not sure if I'd pick a Bon Jovi song. But live.... definetly top 5! You get 3 hours of pure fun. You know every song and can sing along as loud as you can. The band is just amazing. I've seen them play a song a second time towards the end, just because the crowd started singing it again. There so flexible, because they know each other for so long. Perfekt evening burned in my memory
When I see videos like this. I always feel like I missed out. I was around I was too young to go to concerts back then. Depending on when this concert happened I could've been 5 or 6 years old. What's cool about a lot of Bon Jovi's videos is the fans are immortalized. Bon Jovi's videos will always be around.
There is nothing like a Bon Jovi concert in the 80s!!!!
I wish I could've seen them then.
I agree. Saw them 4 times
I’m old so I was fortunate to see them opening or being opened for From their Self Titled with Ratt to New Jersey with Cinderella!
I saw them twice (80’s and 90’s) but what I would do for those times again!!!
Are you serious the 80s belong to Springsteen and his concerts they were legendary no comparison
If you two can imagine an entire crowd fully engaged, no cellphones or cameras, maybe a lighter..lol but just completely focused completely on the band on stage....that was the beauty of going to a concert back in the 80s
And I miss those concerts so much. We'll never have that experience again.
They were good times and tickets were cheap compared to today crappy shows.
You Hit It Right On, Sorensmith. No Distractions; just totally immersed in performance !!
Rock On Forever.
Arena rock at its finest. Jay’s comment: “What a time to be alive” sums it up perfectly. Yes, it was.
We had 3rd row seats on the New Jersey tour. Skid Row opened, and Bon Jovi started their set with this song. What a show, what a night.
I am so jealous!
Same show. Portland, OR. 8th row. PHENOMENAL!
My fav album of theirs. Wore that tape out. Not a bad song
Seen them together in Cleveland
I saw that show, but it was general admission which meant you could stand on the floor or pick your seats. We chose the floor. Not bad for twenty something dollars. My kids are so jealous.😅

Jbj has never gotten enough praise for his showmanship. His powerful stage presence. His ability to move tens of thousands of people in the arenas, etc. Great reaction you guys!

Yeh, thats not true. JBJ has plenty of praise.
@@scarimorales2222 Plenty but not enough.

He can afford to subsidize that, but Panera Bread tried that too and it didn't work.
@@yaimavol Bon Jovi isn't "Trying that" he's been doing it for like 15-20 years
@@js6729 That's how rich he is. It's a charity write off for him
@@yaimavol he actually doesn't write it off though...
That is exactly like they opened in concert, Blew me away
When I saw them live in '89, they opened with this song. Amazing concert. Check out their song "Keep the Faith". It rocks!
They opened with this song when I saw them in 1989, as well. That concert is one of the best concerts I have ever attended.
I saw then twice in 89 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Skid Row was their opening act.
I also saw them live in '89 at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana! My sister and I put hand prints on the butt of our ripped jeans and painted "lay your hands on me" in puff paint 😆

"Raise your Hands" and "In These Arms" are two more great Bon Jovi songs
Keep the Faith is the most underrated Bon Jovi song.
Went to Bon Jovi and Cinderella concert ,and it was the best concert ever!!!!!!!

Cinderalla was just bad. They opened for the SWW tour and it was painful to sit through
🤘😎🤘 The '80s... What a time to be alive!

"Wanted" is a Must for Bon Jovi reactions.
They did "wanted" a while back.
@@rickmiller4202 I was thinking they had, but I didn't see it on their list of Bon Jovi reactions.

I think NEW JERSEY is one of the 80 s greatest masterpieces. And not only of the 80 s, but of the rock history in general.
