set your amp so it sounds clean and undistorted, then set your pedal so it comes on at the same volume but distorted,so you have a clean sound and a distorted sound at the exact same volume to switch back and forth. then you can play a song that starts out clean, then press the pedal in the middle for a heavy part, then switch back to clean for a mellow part of the song.
That's definitely a handy tip... Ya know, for the TONE KING... Just joking with ya, bud... We ALL figure out this stuff in our OWN time, and it's cool you found somethin that works for you and wanted to share... Keep rockin...
But EXACTLY what you're talkin about made Nirvana one of the biggest bands of ALL time... They said they stole the "quiet/loud" from The Pixies, but it DEFINITELY had an effect on me, and how I write songs...
I remember the first pedal i ever bought was a ultra metal pedal from Behringer. Ahhhhhhh memories makes me fuzzy thinking back. Funny thing is i still use the same one this day. Sounds great thanks
I have the hd300 n i use it with my dark terror (if i want to switch between dist n cleans). It sounds great! Of course it cant beat the gain from the dark terror. I really believe a cheap pedal can sound awesome through a decent tube amp. Have tried the hd300 with a solid state, didnt sound great n was kinda digital sounding
HD300 is a great pedal for heavy metal ryhtm guitar, not good enough for leading solos. -Tone knob does a great job, works good in any setting -Distortion knob is good untill you reach 3 o'clock position, then it gets crappy, but on 3 o'clock, it has a very powerfull distorted sound -Gain Boost is a great knob which can be pushed to the max, but i use it on 2 o'clock, it adds a punch to the distorted sound, like anotker overdrive pedal and you get a veryyy long sustain :)
I use this pedal for blues it gives me just what I want you just have to dial it in right. I tried alot of expensive stomps and pedals this one seemed to work for me. I think I paid $39.99 for it and it's the only one I need to rock out when I have to.
You can buy a power supply (9Volt) or you can just put in a 9V square battery like you'd find in a smoke alarm. It fits in just under the main on/off switch. Hope this helps.
I'm finding it hilarious that there's people on the comments praising this pedal, yet on other videos I see tons of people bash the Boss MD-2 (which is what this Behringer pedal is based on). Overall, both are solid pedals. Nice review, mate.
@lmsjr i do just that. i love those mixers. i know semi pro studios that use that gear.i own a behringer delay. i got it as i couldnt afford a better delay but needed one badly. when i plugged it in , i just stuck with it. so many bands have complemented our tone. people have to much of a label snobbery these days. keep up the awsome work. you have shown me many a cool item in the world of gear. i can't thank you enough . \m/
What are your top 8 "must have" Behringer pedals on a pedalboard. I'm new with individual guitar pedals and am thinking of starting with these Behringer since they are cheaper than the Boss(es). Thanks!
SilverSpike777 I have a bunch of Behringer Pedals on my board and I don't think I'm changing them anytime soon. Digital Delay, Tube Overdrive, Ultra Chorus, Noise Reducer, Ultra Ttremolo, Chromatic Tuner and Hellbabe Wah. Along with the Amp onboard overdrive footswitch, BBE 427, Boss DynaDrive I'm really happy with what I produce. I run them through a Behringer Ultra G when I'm sending them direct to a Mixer. Really sounds sweet. I'd say go for it.
Behringer - Bugera, a brand that is changing the rig market, and i bet that even the "traditional" brands will be forced to lower the prices within a few years and try to sell the product itself and not the logo over it (Marshall, can you hear me?)
I want to play SlipKnot songs (and songs that look like that) on my guitar. So, what Behringer do you guys suggest me? Thank you alot, learned a lot about effects because of your videos! :)
@lmsjr fair enough. still is a very nice soundfing stompbox. i love bugera and beringer. I just hate it when people call my bugera a behringer. im like they own them , but inside these amps are verrryy different.
Can you help me on how to set 3 behringer pedals. I'm a noob with pedals but basically got them so I can switch between clean sound to distortion. I have a Ibanez RG350DX guitar and good amp but I am strapped for cash and the price off the boss pedal got me 3 behringers. This is not for gigs and just for play at home.
does this pedal comes with a power supply and if it doesnt how do u use it im a begginer and i wanna buy this can anywone explain to me how does it work
today i bought this pedal but when i connect to the amp it make so much noise? my guitar its a normal guitar with a amp of 15 watts... can you help me for have less noise? thanks (sorry is google translate)
HEY bro !!! You just gained a sub from me !!! In your opinion, What is a better Stomp between the Behringer HM300 vs Behringer HD300? I am looking for a decent stomp box that can provide an Up to date Distortion that does not sound too icy but has sustain & punch!!! Does Behringer make a Nice Distortion pedal that also offers Delay ? I am purchasing 20 pedals for my classroom so I wanna make sure I pick one that can be, Clear, Distort & offer sustain whether it is delay or not !!! If you know that pedal I am searching for, Please help me out bud !!! Thanks For All Your Reviews !!! ROCK ON !!! DEv
@365daysgone not really. build quality is subpar but they are actually relatively good clones of what they are intending to copy. i have an RV600 Reverb Machine and its basically just as good as the Verbzilla and it cost me 115$ less.
Man its pink... Makes me want to buy it even more... So Heavy Metal!
It's so aerosmith

I remember the first pedal i ever bought was a ultra metal pedal from Behringer. Ahhhhhhh memories makes me fuzzy thinking back. Funny thing is i still use the same one this day. Sounds great thanks
Thanks Tone! I'm new to electric guitars and that really helped me make the right noob choice!!!!

Killer video , the pedal sounds awesome and good job !!

Is there a tab for the lick you're playing dude or is it improvisation?
I wish I had known about this pedal before I paid almost 90 bucks for a Boss MD-2...
You can buy a power supply (9Volt) or you can just put in a 9V square battery like you'd find in a smoke alarm. It fits in just under the main on/off switch. Hope this helps.
the sound at 2:00 was the best out of the whole video, good demo TK!
getting this pedal tomorrow, thanks for the review toneking :)
I have one. Its really good. Great value for money. I highly recomend this

Thank you Tone King! Ive found my next pedal!
I bought this pedal yeasterday and it´s pretty cool thing :)
You make this sound the best of the reviews..including mine. U must have a noise suppressor on...cuz most of their pedals have some level of noise.
Nice demo. Great pedal for price. Thanks!!!

Great explanation for Gain Boost. Thanks!
The MD-2 is my fav pedal ever. I cant find something that beats it.
Sounds surprisingly well. But I agree should've been produced with better material to last longer
Damn it sounds so sweet
JUST ordered one for ONLY $19 from Sweetwater!!!
Are there any differences between Heavy Distortion and Heavy Metal pedal?
well, i think DM 100 sounds better for me after watching this HD 300 review, thanks for the review man, it helped me to make my choice
\m/_
i would prefer a black one but it doesn't matter, i love that "bad boy"
got mine coming in today will It be ready to play out the box or will I need a extra aux cord... please help out
Hey tone king, quick question about these pedals. Are the input and output jacks on these pedals made of metal, or plastic?

All your stuff is great, OK, very badass gadget very, plus your crash amp=devastation, po qua!
is it good for melodic death metal? if not, what could you recommend?
Which better between behringer heavy metal ?
Does this pedal works with the adaptor 9V, or without too?
@lmsjr fair enough. still is a very nice soundfing stompbox. i love bugera and beringer. I just hate it when people call my bugera a behringer. im like they own them , but inside these amps are verrryy different.
What would you say is the best distortion pedal of behringers?
Cool video !!!! i use the compressor sustainer and the Pre amp simulator and i can say that they are great !!!!!!!!!!!! cheers = ) !!!
is this pedal used to emulate the sound of metallica?
Should I buy this???
Boss
Behringer
MXR
Which one to go for???
If playing extremely hard metal, wich one is better, HD 300 or UM 300?
Thanks again
my pedal is this sameone and when i turn it on its make a lot of noise is this normal? in your video i dont ear no noise!
which is better this (HD 300) or the Marshall GV-2 Guv'nor Plus
heavy for the win!
Okay now which pedal is this HD300 model after?
How should my Amp be set to use this properly.

Where do the batteries go?
can you give me a suggestion of where to set the knobs to make it sound good with a crate gx80? i cant get this pedal to sound good :/
Why does yours have a blue light but mines green? That’s weird
do you want to know how to set them after each othe so that you can use 2 in one song for example or what do you mean ?
what difference is there between the HD300 and the UM300?
does this pedal comes with a power supply and if it doesnt how do u use it im a begginer and i wanna buy this can anywone explain to me how does it work
It doesn't come with power supply, you use 9v battery
whats a good pedal for nirvana songs and stuff?
Are you from New York?
today i bought this pedal but when i connect to the amp it make so much noise? my guitar its a normal guitar with a amp of 15 watts... can you help me for have less noise? thanks (sorry is google translate)
Can u pls review the pb100 pls? :)
They don't come along with power adapter?
Of course not. When you use several pedals you would use one power adapter for all of them (with daisy chain cable or several outputs).
not bad for €20! I'd buy that! :)
Why, oh why are all Behringer heavy pedal pink in color?
What's the best amp to use with this?
Great sound. It sounds like the pedal was lower in volume than your clean sound even after you adjusted it. Just my ears though. LOL
@TheListMaker1 read my post again, the first sentence says why it sounds crappy.
btw, no offense TTK, youre the best man
Can i use it on my bass without worring of damaging it?
Use behringers bass overdrive
Always play with the gain first. Doom metal yo!!
how did you get if to turn on when plugged in? mine only works through the battery
Make sure you have the right voltage cable
+BabyWhaleFilms I do it's whatever though I just use it with the battery
Im wondering wich pedal will be better if this one or the boss md-2, so if someone could please answer me, will be awesome!!
Nice pedal, nice price! :-)
will it work for a bass ?
wow it's a nice pedal, wish play that matter! xD
sound or build?
how much gear does this guy have?
one question - Why did you put in Boss MD-2 in the titile? Click Bait Perhaps?! ;)
Steven Austin it’s a imitation of a boss pedal
@fender640 ultra metal for sure!

sounds to cloudy
Got that same one for 15 at a guitar center
Mine is awesome!
great!!!!
Whats the pedal polarity?
For most of the pedals the case is positive terminal for the Behringer power jack the centre pin would be - negative

why pink?
beautiful *----*
works on bass too?
Hypnosis yes
That muddied distortion sound comes from any cheap amp... why would I need a pedal for that?
@lmsjr thank you
@365daysgone there better than Digitech (and cheaper) but not as good as boss, but beauty is in the eyes (and ears) of the beholder.
Cool
