Welcome to the thunderdome of a brand new series review. Strap in and lets get it started. Also ANYTHING proud family related gets demonetized heavily so I am doing this for free basically lol still, lets have fun!
Do tell... I manage a number of Proud Family related channels and noticed a sharp dip in viewership the past two days. Have you noticed this trend recently or has it always been this way. Do you think the UA-cam algorithm is demoting Proud Family material as a result of controversy? It seems intuitive but when we look at Velma, Velma content continued to tend for a longer period of time and still does despite it being more controversial. What are your thoughts?
@@LaCienegaBouIevardez I think they are 10000% demoting it. ESPECIALLY during black history month.
I'm sorry to hear that but it is. Disney after all. Best I can do is what I generally do with smaller channels getting hit with shadow bans and demonetizations: play their monetized video play lists on repeat whilst charging my phone at work and at night. Its not much but it helps get the views up.
so far this show makes me wanna watch wizards of wavery place and stranger things!
i miss the classics. looking forward to seeing more of this ride.
@@Hypnoticc That's crazy! Yeah they must've pissed off one of the higher ups because last year it wasn't like this! - Thanks 👍
Sticky was never Dijonay’s boyfriend. The girl was just obsessed with him and was constantly harassing him with her advances. As for Barry… well, let’s just say you’d be surprised.
my great great family members were very poor and couldnt afford a slave.obviously this trauma has been passed down our maternal line causing every of these innocent women to feel the pain of their ancestors, having to wash their own clothes, cook their own food and ,dear god forbid, cleaning their own house....
The original Proud Family was a childhood classic for me. It was such a good show, and it suck it. It had to come back at the wrong time.
Very wrong time
It’s sage to see the moon created a different timeline and split them
It's fair to say Disney has lost its way... fallen off the edge of the world.
Lol!
God will have Disney answer for it’s crimes against the people if they don’t repent.
As a Mexican girl who watched this show growing up they had family moral lessons in the original series. The characters are the same but when I heard about the activist character being added to the show in before it aired I knew it was gonna be cringe. The gay character Micheal was flamboyant in the original series, which we all suspected he was gay. I didn't even know that was Micheal when I watched this episode, I was literally like who the heck is this character.
Wait that was supposed to be MICHEAL.
@@nobeansauce1564 yep got a full gender transition and sex change
He isn't even gay as we thought at the begining of the show, cause we can see him dating a girl.
I don't understand why they set up the reboot the way they did. In the Proud Family movie, she turned 16, they could have this series take place after the movie
One may never know.
Exactly! It feels unnecessary, like they could've even made them near high school graduates or something :(
Because it's targeted for underage types in reality (Gen. A). With characters 18+ the attraction for kids is much diminished so they will not watch it and become indoctrinated by its content to anywhere near the same degree.
At least Velma is aimed at adults and a lot of its racist crap can be argued as being just a joke. Also, Velma, accidentally or not, makes fun of everybody, gay, Black, Indian, etc. Proud Family Louder and Prouder used to be and supposedly still is a show that the kids can watch. And it tries to teach its message to them.
And to all the people who say ''Proud Family and other cartoons were always political!'' Yes, they were. But the messages would've been much more universal and the execution would be much better.
Old Proud Family: Racism, segregation, and sexism are bad. Also, don't lie, don't use up all your money, etc.
New Proud Family: Give me reparation or else you're a racist! You have white privilege! Does a guy have a preference/fetish for white girls? Let's bully our white friend and tell her the only reason a handsome guy like him is interested in her is because he has a fetish for her!
One is not like the other!
The 'racists' jokes are totally NOT equal. It's all thinly disguised white facing in reality. The white jokes are much more grievous, and the black jokes, or people of color stereotypes, are quite innocuous, the few that there are of the non-white jokes in both shows.
You right on the money
Velma is closer to this than it is Southpark, let's be real.
The original Proud Family was just a normal family that happened to be black. much like how the earlier days of The Simpsons and Family Guy were also portrayals of typical families.
One thing they get wrong is the belief that Europeans invented slavery. no, slavery has been around long before them. records go back even before Egypt. one thing you'll see swept under the rug in history classes is that Africa had slaves of its own. from what I've been hearing, they sold their own people to other countries and even used slaves themselves. movies like Black Panther make Africa look like a country that has been a united utopia for centuries. this is far from the truth. it's as knee deep in the blood of slaves as the rest of the world.
Trudy ordering Oscar around is pretty true to the original. She afforded the house and everything else from her veterinarian work while Oscar experimented on his fledgling snack business.
Being true to the original doesnt make the statement any less true. I guess its okay to continue to emasculate black men in media though.
@@Hypnoticc The original wasn't as emasculating. But yeah, the emasculated men trope is more cliche now.
I watched the original back in the day when I was a black boy, and even I thought in my 7 year old mind “Damn, the man of the house do nothin but lose and get beat by his own mother in his house???”… loved the original show tho
Actually, it was stated in the episode where Penny gets superpowers that Trudy pays the bills to run the house, but Oscar is the actual owner of the house because the ghost presence made the paperwork so affordable, even he could become a homeowner. Which makes the reboot even worse because they clearly retconned this because that wouldn't fit into the feminist world view.
Gotta love how racist stereotypes are no longer racist when it is said race feeding into them, empowerment!
This series should've stay dead and the creator himself had no Idea what he was doing at the time. I don't wanna see Dave The Barbarian or Buzz On Maggie get this kind of treatment like the reboot of the reboots.
Oh it gets worse
@@Hypnoticc Believe me I know. I've already completed this season not too long ago last year, but didn't bother watching Season 2 for obvious reason due to the recent "performance", *TWICE!!!!*
I mean, the woke thing has been great in so many ways, but… now it’s like EVERY movie and EVERY TV show. You know it’s like you can see through it now. Audiences want to be entertained. They don’t want to be preached at, and if you’re just doing shows and movies that have an agenda, it’s like-- it’s just going to keep failing. - South Park
Didn't Oscar Proud have a chip factory in one episode?
He must be making some money if he can afford a factory.
True
Yeah but the writers don’t care about that it’s time for the wife to be in charge and the husband be useless
I'm slowly believing that the creators are bullying children for things they can't control in this episode
These “progressive” shows are sending society backwards
Tha is because this show it's not "progresive" it's just Bullying white People for being white
What is it with this gross obsession of having kids twerking in media nowadays? It's so creepy and disturbing.
Its odd
wait until you find out about this app called "tiktok"
I'm very pleased ( as clearly many others are) that you've chosen to review the entirety of this show rather than just reacting to its more grievous offenses. I'm curious as to whether a once popular IP remade for the "modern audience" (read that in a glaswegian accent for full effect) is capable of having any redeeming qualities.
I can't help but wonder after the recent incident of young children abusing their white fellow students into saying black lives matter and attacking those who resisted is if this is the inevitable result of preaching hate in popular entertainment. Tbh I imagine its only a matter of time when stealing lunch money is considered a method of obtaining reparations.
Antifa in training. Nice...
Yes I want people to see the entire thing and not just snippets to get the full context
I don't blame sticky for moving away that girl she always stocking, chasing and harrasing him.
Word
@@Hypnoticc thankfully we are in a time where this type of trope where girls harrasing guys in a kids cartoon is dying out.
A good character got to escape this terrible show
Holy crap, you actually had the stomach to sit through this. Thanks
It gets worse my friend
Viewer: i mean...this show can't be that bad right?
Dijonay: so you see that white girl over there?
Penny: who? *turns around* oh you mean Zoey? What about her
Dijonay: hear me out...I think it's time she learns her place! let's beat her up cause she's white!
Lacienega: I'm so down
Penny: yeah! i w_ wait what?
Viewer: what.
I am just appalled. I finished the first season of the original proud family last night, and having thoroughly enjoyed it, am absolutely disgusted by this. The writing is terrible, the characters’ voices are obnoxiously ratchet, and they don’t act ANYTHING like they did in the original. Penny was never a narcissist, and was actually pretty humble. She was incredibly kind, too, but was flawed in her own way. She didn’t mind the idea of being popular, and actually quite enjoyed getting attention whenever it would happen to come her way, just like any preteen would. But she would NEVER think that everybody liked her. She acknowledged and accepted the fact that LaCienega was a bitch, and hated her, and just tried to steer clear of her. But here, Penny just comes off as so obnoxious and annoying. In the og, Trudy WAS a hardworking mom who would put Oscar in his place and tell him what he needed to do, but she only did that when he was getting out of control. But you could still tell that she was a loving, caring and dedicated mother who just needed to show the stubborn, but equally loving Oscar the light sometimes. Here, Trudy is just way more annoying, and bossy, just giving Oscar orders and not letting him do anything: Just barking orders and telling him to shut up. When before, she would only get him up off his @$$ when there was something that he actually NEEDED to do, like take Bebe and Cece to get their shots, or watch them while she was at work. But you could still tell that Trudy loved Oscar, and they worked as a team. I never watched this show in my childhood because I was born in 2006, but even as a brand-new PF fan, ANYBODY can tell that this remake absolutely BUTCHERED these beloved characters, and it is nothing short of shameful. Some are alright, and actually do act like their original counterparts, but are still just so downgraded with this reboot’s idea of “comedy”. Oh, and about their obnoxiously loud, ratchet voices. I mean, the og characters did have a ton of black lingo sprinkled in their dialogue as a form of respect and appreciation, which I love; but it still sounded natural, and something that you could actually listen to. Here, it actually makes me want to rip my ears off. And it’s not even in character for the humble, yet confident Penny to be this loud. For Dijonay, maybe, but I still didn’t want to kill myself over her og voice.
In the original show Sticky most of the time’s didn’t like Dijonay except for one episode where he got jealous because Dijonay was dating another guy as for this show the behind the scenes reason is because his VA Orlando Brown got arrested
Looks like Disney saw Velma in all its awfulness and thought to themselves. "How can we compete with that?"
Their answer: This show. 😂
What's worse is in the original that guy was camp straight, but they turned him into a stereotype
Now imagine at the end, Penny is chastising her dad, saying "I'm becoming a woman now," and the father says "I know, and I remember how I was growing up. It wasn't pretty, and since I've gone through this transition period of becoming an adult, I want to help guide you through it, too." "Alright, but the camo was too much!" "OK then, no camo, but don't get all boy crazy now!" "You'll just have to remind me then." They hug, and THEN she goes to dance with a boy that her father gives a slight nod of approval. MUCH BETTER FATHER/DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP DYNAMIC!!!
I heard about how the creator was basically throwing every representation in the show like a drunk high school graduate with a license swerving all over the road but I didn’t think it was THIS bad. Why did they age them up? They literally just had to have like a “5 years later” card or something. I don’t remember much of the show (I was very young and not very interested in it) but isn’t the skinny white girl supposed to be like someone who gets picked on a lot but becomes friends with this black girl and likes hanging out with them because she found a place she can belong? Then somehow every other girl goes through puberty, which is generally broad shoulders for boys and broad hips for girls but nah, she’s a toothpick. Then we got some gay guy who, and I swear I’m not being homophobic, doesn’t seem to fit in with the group really well and just feels more like someone’s oc they slotted in there somehow, he feels so out of place.
If the creator is making a show to just essentially slap in the face of everyone, why would anyone want to watch it?
I'm telling you to keep the lookout for all the books in the show. Maya usually has them. They are all real books! Really woke books.
So I hear. I will!
They are and they are horrible and racist lok
And what books would those be?
@@Drixenol86 For example Race After Technology by Ruha Benjamin.
@@kingagrabowska9366 Interesting.
Considering that Velma push the line to highschooler pole dancing for Dad’s attention, when’s Oscar serving the Oyakodon to Tyrone?
Proud Family has always been “woke” so clearly someone just wasnt paying attention. 🤷🏾♀️
Examples please, 8 can't really remberer anything from the og show
@@jakk2631 Literally the entire show???
@@jakk2631 it’s been a while since I watched the series, but one episode I remember is Penny stays with an American Pakistani family & it addresses xenophobia.

2:19 Oh noes! Disney skept on her puberty blockers! FOR ALL CHARACTERS 🦐
3:36 I'm not familiar with the original show nor anything, but seeing them having a chimpanze as pet is like "why would you have a primitive ape as your pet"? Also, chimps lack tails...
4:09 "curse you, woman!" Oh wow, the first sign of transphilia 👀
6:20 Yeah, typical feminism. Someone must take care of the kids and always fall to the one that has more "spare time" 🙄
Isn't it peculiar that this family lacks of any prepubescent male siblings? I can't even tell if the baby is a male or not because of how all of them share ridiculous hairs.
7:07 I don't get his attitude. So basically he want to put a chastity FULL-SUIT armor on his daughter just because she's growing up?
8:32 Pft, a male travestite boy. How "original" 🙄
9:27 From Velma, and now this show, do you have on your country something against lanky tall girls? Because this is the second show within the span of 2 months body shaming lanky girls, and I HATE IT.
9:45 Great, more body shaming.
10:16 Guess Disney must hate the Na'vi too 👀
11:00 I thought they said that correlating race with rap music was also a racist slur. But guess it's fine if Disney does it 🙄
12:41 They must have watched too many white men playing baby on TikTok. People consume the most steaming scheibe available on that app.
13:14 My god, that profile of that girl is the same profile as Donald Duck.
13:41 A way to write off a character they don't want to write about?
14:26 Just look at the book she carries. Racist ideologies on the first part of the first chapter straight out the vat.
14:41 They made the legs ridiculously longer on purpose to avoid copying Joe Swanson? 😬
15:31 The words of a true Marie Sue-- I mean, VELMA CLONE.
15:44 At this rate and I bet in a future season they are going to make them both to go on a date to fill up the check-boxes ✅
16:13 Aye, the cringe is real. To think kids will try to immitate this because is all they do at the age this show is aimed at 🙄
16:34 The joke is on her -- she gladly does it as long as money keeps getting in her pocket.
17:09 Maya is the typical teen "anomie", which is written into biosocial criminology and penology 🤔
17:58 I concur with that sentiment. They never write gay characters right, but just histrionic travestites.
19:43 Why this character is called "the morass"? I don't get it. Is this more jabs at body and ethnic shaming? Disney is disgusting.
23:09 If this is a homaje to We Bare Bears, I can't even. This panda is sure on some psycotropic 🐼
23:30 Yup, totally anomie. They are mentally handicaped for empathy.
23:59 Totally the words of an unapologetic SJW.
24:52 lol he dances like an animated character from South Park.
Oh wow, 3/10? Velma still the worst of the worst 🤣At least they didn't went full Wakandan voice acting (?)
4:35 That’s Oscar’s older brother, Bobby.
I only saw one single episode and I rolled my eyes so far back that they almost popped out of my head. It's a show that was clearly made for ideologically subverted adults, not "family.".
I can respect that you could get off of watching Velma and go into the Proud family reboot, I would've been done after Velma.
👋 Hi there, I'm LaCienega Boulevardez! I'm stopping by to say thank you for reviewing our show! Your feedback is very important to us!
Hi. The original was better than this woke trash of a show.
@@the1magageneral323 Hey, it is what it is! It's often true that it's easier said than done to replicate the magic of an original piece. It's even more difficult adapting things from the past to be compatible in a newer social climate, especially one as hostile as this one!
@@LaCienegaBoulevardez People can protest the show now more than ever. People are sick and tired of Disney.
Why they call you "the morass"? 🤔
@@Spamkromite Oh wait... lol LaCienega doesn't just mean any swamp. It's a wetland that sits in the middle of a hot dry desert. It's breaks the laws of nature and supplies water and beauty where it otherwise wouldn't exist! Therefore la cienegas are difficult not to notice! Describes me quite well actually! 🥰
They wrote off the character Sticky due to the stuff with Orlando Brown that happened but honestly it would have been better to just find another voice actor. The only good thing bout the show was having most of the original VAs, the show is garbage writing aside and just pushed SJW BS. Such a shame the image of the original show will always be tarnished by this
The dad was successful bread winner in the original.
Yeah despite the fact he produced snacks that were described by sticky in the original as too dry. Oscar somewhat kept the family supported
The first show was sexiest to men. The father gets beating by his mother and his wife.
Once they realize all the money they lost, they will go back to making decent content
I can't believe they had to go and ruin Proud Family smh
That's a trope where they have where the female characters undermine the male character's authority.
I don't know why people are surprised at this, Trudy did that in the original show. I am annoyed that they ramped up oscars annoying character a bit but this is pretty close to the og relationship status. They love each other but they do scream at each other when they get mad, normally Trudy at oscar.
@@flamekiller32 Just that it got worst and it is a tiring anti-male trope. That is all.
@@the1magageneral323 I must have not seen it much. I recommend anime to wash your pallet.
@@flamekiller32 Ok, understand that trope is in all forms of entertainment especially comedy. At least some Japanese anime has a point to its story and world building.

Only one episode the college one is ok, and could have been written better. The entire show is full of stereotypes, lies and BLM activists with the character Maya.

Pretty sure The Proud Family was rated TV-Y or Y7 when it came out and this is rated TV-PG.
Uh oh, from one cancer (Velma) to another.
=(
Sticky Webb dipped to japan to escape the reboot he the smart one lol great video i can't wait for the next one
🙏🙏
My parents would notice every time I grew an inch how the hell did Oscar not notice his daughter growing
Sticky Webb was the best character in the old show. They really did him dirty by having him leave. Guess they can't have a male character as a member of the friend group.
Remember when Proud family was nothing but a wholesome show that centered around the misadventures of an African American family who learned important lessons rather than a soulless propaganda cashgrab

Thank you for watching this crap and delivering amusing reviews! I appreciate you sacrificing your mental health for the rest of us.
Why can't they just have gay people in a show be like normal people :T. Maybe only mention they are gay when their is an episode when they other characters are talking about their romantic interests or crushes or even do it on a valentines day episode.
Or when the character is trying to relate to the main character about getting out of a bad relationship by mentioning their ex partner.
It's so easy to show rep without using the usual stereotypes as their whole personality.
Don't get me wrong I have met guys who used being gay as their whole personality BUT I also met guys and girls who never told me out right they were gay but they would just introduce me to their partner or they would take about who they had a crush on.
Never knew one of my friends were gay until she just started talking about her girlfriend when I was venting about my boyfriend. She wasn't the stereotypes of a lesbian. She was just a girl who had goals, hobbies, a future career, and just so happened to only like girls
This will come a close second to Velma-
*Jeez, I hate how I was someone years ago that thought this show was gonna be okay...*
I feel the cringe building.
8:30 She said she's the chairMAN... cancelled!
I'm just going to put this here for the algorithm but also say I am not interested in the shows in the least. The Velma reviews from people were at least entertaining. I don't think anyone can make these entertaining.
I will say when you get to Reparations, tear it a new one because that is a lazy wealth redistribution scheme. I watched the old show sometimes, but the only characters names I remember are Penny, Oscar and Suga Mama.
I appreciate the comment. The episodes are getting pretty woke and trashy as time goes on. Episode 1 was time. Episode 2 is ridiculous lol. If you are not interested I understand
Yeah they seem to ignore the fact that there were black slave owners in america
My only complaint about the old Proud Family in the early 2000s was that the father Oscar Proud was too stupid. This Oscar makes that one look like Albert Einstein. This is just plain weird and unfunny.
I’m just waiting for the Proud Velma crossover now
Same
Wasn't this just an unironic rip off of the We Wuz Kangz thing? And what part of this country specifically did they build? I mean, is the guy who makes nails the architect of my house? And aside from the obvious racist grift (maybe even some actual fragility) there's an embarrassing lack of really basic comprehension on pretty much every topic covered. Apparently Disney took a good long look at losing Reedy Creek and decided it was time to follow that up with, "That all you got?"
So all of the characters expect the news are exactly the same as they were in the first series so those stereotypes you saw where there the whole time.
I guess the aurgument, that isn't a good thing back then or now.
@@1faithchick7 sure but in the original series the stereotypes were a bit underplayed when compared to the new series and they weren't played for jokes or used for forced dramas they were used for the serious matter that they are.
Ignore this atrocious "modern" reboot and stick with the original Proud Family series.
Yeah. Even as someone who’s a leftist the writing is ehh. Like you teach lessons passively not actively
What I mean is they’re too on the nose with literally everything
Wokeness! Wokeness! It’s coming! Wokeness! Wokeness! Beware! Coming for you!
The proud family has always had plenty of tropes and stereotypes but this nerv proud family definitely feels...way too try hard. Like before they talked about plenty of real life issues regarding race etc and it never came off forced but natural to spark a conversation or simply understanding and empathy. This show however...yeah I can already tell sublty is gonna be nonexistent and its gonna 100% shove everything down our throats.
Listen Im not against representation, theres plenty of shows that does this well without it just feeling like the token xyz character, but in this show it can NOT be more obvious thats what that guy is. He is literally just there to score points for inclusion, everything about him is over the top and in your face like SEE SEE WE'RE INCLUSIVE PAT US ON THE BACK. 🤦♀ Like bruh how about he just be a character? like Craig from Craig of the creek, hes not 'the black kid' but a fully fleshed out character who just happens to be black, why do so many shows especially modern ones fail to realize this? they try too hard to be 'woke' instead of just playing things naturally. Nothing ever goes right when you try hard, literally every 'woke' attempt has always flopped and it is mind boggling how they still havent realized why and change it.
Tbh this show would've been more accurate without the father...
What does "woke" mean exactly? In the US woke means being aware (awake?) of racial discrimination and racism, doesn't it? In English woke used to mean "weak," or it could be used in sentences such as "so-and-so woke up" from sleep, or when someone snaps out of stupid beliefs or behaviours.
If woke is used to describe this particular Disney show then does it mean "weak"?
Release the panda to where? Not to mention they would get mauled by it🤦 you can’t make this shit up, the panda is in the zoo cause out in the wild they kill them.
The one character is a straw man version of a left wing activist. I think whoever’s making this show is secretly a right winger.
Huh I wasn’t surprised Disney brought it back knowing them the just want to milk it into the dust
Oh Lord. This TV show I just can't.
Oh 100%! Like I've seen the woke mob go after stay at home mom's and go off on them for wanting the man to be the Big money maker. It's absolutely maddening and stupid.
Wow....man I'm glad I grew up on some of late 90s early 2000s cartoons. They were less shitty and I still enjoy them even now.
I mean if I was him I would leave As well.
Honestly why does she even care if someone doesn't like her?
I mean I absolutely love camo and army gear just my personal preference.
I agree with you 100%.
Same here I agree with what she said about her.
again I might have to disagree with Penny on that I would 100% wear that top it off with steel toe boots and I'll be happy. As I said I'm obsessed with camo.
I think it's perfectly fine for him to be protective however an overbearing protective one is a bit suffocating.
I think all the stuff targeted at the dad are mostly because he’s an overreacting, in denial, kind ike fun at him character
I can name a few gay (male) characters who isn't flamboyant. Mr Smiley from Steven Universe, Barney and Logs from Dead End Paranormal Park, Herb from Bojack Horseman, Will from Stranger Things.
For those few you can add 30 per person that is flamboyant.
To be fair Will doesn't realise he's gay (his arc is realising he is). He's very obviously gay but they never come out and say he is.
@@PlanetZoidstar It really wasn't obvious at all to me until season 3. I just thought (gay or not), he was very slightly feminine which isn't a bad thing. Honestly, it felt like people were saying he was gay because he cried quite a bit. There are probably more reasons but that's it for me. He wasn't even around for much of season 1.

You havent seen the original show obviously. if you did you would know half of whats going on in this show is nothing new. a lot of cultural, past, and ethnic tropes from the show went so far over your head there is no way you can possibly differentiate the black jokes with the woke bs going on in the show. also if you watch the original series, things like what you are seeing in the show would make so much sense . in doesn't make sense to review the sequel when you haven't seen the original . i mean the show starts off with the assumption that have you ACTUALLY WATCHED the original . otherwise you have no frame of reference . like yes there is a lot of woke mess in this show but as is noticeable you are unable to understand the references as you haven't seen the original. also some of these observations are such a reach, im surprised your arm hasn't fell out of its socket. i pretty sure Disney is not hoping anyone will mimic the gross sisters, but then again hisoka and shou tucker fans exist so who knows. Ws for calling the woke bs out in these shows, but a partial L for not seeing the original first. also this show was marketed for mostly the black community so it understandable that you miss some jokes . kinda the reason why the Cinema Sins channel doesn't do many black movies and shows. cultural barriers are a real thing and its showing here
So by me calling out the black tropes in this show, its somehow missing the cultural references? I am aware that in the original show, the characters ACT like this. I never said they didn't. What I said what I dont understand WHY must they have these characters act so ratchet. Surely you are not insinuating that because its a show aimed at black people that ratchet behavior must be accepted? That would be odd no?
I can also tell the jokes that were aimed for black people specifically and yet, I am able to acknowledge that while this show is aimed at black people doesn't excuse the tropes they use towards the black community. But I guess its acceptable and is deemed culturally "ok".
Are you insisting towards the end of your comment that because I am black I cannot review this show? If cinemasins is too scared to touch a show due to the racial premise of it then that is on them. I have no such fear.
We get it you watch the original series but go ahead it state it 5 more time in multiple sentence structure, you could had easily made this one sentence without breaking it up as many times as you did and Cinema Sins doesn't do many black movies and shows cause there would be to much to make fun of, it would be like doing one for any Asylum film.
@@Hypnoticc that's nice to know. i may be looking at this show though nostalgia colored glasses although i never said the behavior was acceptable , it a part of their character . there are a lot of people in the world that are abrasive ,brash , loud, but its a part of their personality . now i agree they made dijonay extra ratchet in this sequel but the gross sisters wanting to be rappers is just a joke, a common one at that. i mean its a common aspiration in the black community. its so common its detrimental and it seems apt to apply this joke to the gross sisters because they are supposed to the attributes the black community is supposed to dislike. i hope you do more black shows with the understanding that while some black tropes which are detrimental to us exist, they exist for reason. i can walk outside in my neighboorhood and run into 5 dijonays 12 Oscars a lot of Trudys ,2 michaels, 4 stickys 20 gross sisters, 4 bobbys and 8 suga mamas at the church. crazy i know but people like this exist . i also hope you can more black shows because its refreshing to see black through the lens of someone not black. TLDR : Im not gatekeeping, I'm just being a little too critical today
@@KRG658actually cinema sins would get more respect from me if they did black movies, they just don't wanna offend anybody . the narrator/character for cinema sins genuine doesn't understand black tropes. Th3 Birdman actually mentions this in some of his videos . also i get it. i reiterated my statements about the original, but i really did like the original and this new version is a major deviation from it. i may be a little annoyed about it
@@NettoTheMadGamer fair enough I guess and I'm sorry if I made light of things you relate to I know that if someone badmouth a Mel Brooks film I wouldn't like it but you have to remember we can't judge to quickly or defend to quickly as well.
Damn my guy. How can you deal with this torture. But I respect you and many UA-camrs who watch this crap so everyone else don't have to.
This reboot is trash, it commits character assassination just to appeal to whiny narcissistic idiots on twatter. Which I don't know how appealing to that is profitable in the long run.
Señor Pink from One Piece actually does dress like a toddler, but the reason why is more tragic and tearjerking among the fans, so that wannabe rapper dressing up like one is just sick
Finally *punches Michael, he falls over* don't you DARE take Freddie Mercury's name in vain. He is the best showman ever. Little pink punk.
Episode 2 is premiering at 6pm est check it out!
@@Hypnoticc looking forward to it. Though I still question how can you and the UA-camrs not sue Disney for emotional despair for all this torture from their shows
@@javierramirez1805 well I should because Disney just blocked my 6pm video lol
@@Hypnoticc wonder why that would be? It couldn't be because they make a sh*tty show, right?
The only parts I thought were funny were the parts where Suga Mama fell down those stairs in the episode Grandmas Hands. XD I also laughed out loud when Suga Mama was flung in the air when she was trying to fish in Old Town Road Part 1, and I guess the part where Penny had that suit and she used the Kevin Hart mode, which basically made her shrink and gave her a high-pitched voice. I also kind of chuckled when DiJonay said, "She used the A word; somebody's about to die," when Maya called the Gross Sisters "ashy." 😂
I wouldn't call this new Proud Family a sequel of the original because the original Proud Family ended with the movie. Penny was 16 years old in that movie and was in high school. The creators had led on the fans with the basis that Penny would be 17 years old which explained Bebe and Cece being toddlers. Needless to say, they confirmed that it was gonna be a reboot which is why Penny and her friends are still in middle school.
Hold up, why did the black pencil look like red crayon? 1:53
Your critique makes this episode sound more like a 5/10. I feel like you reading more into the episode than the normal person especially since it sounds like you went into watching this with a bias.
Twerking has already been in the culture for a while now so it's not strange especially not for her age. Of course she'd be checking herself out, i would to if my body got taller over night. Oscar has always been over protective as seen in the og show and he learns to let go a bit by the movie it's sad that its rehashed here.
I don't see michaels character being "gay" his personality is fashionista and if you don't like it fine but i personally find his character to be fun.
Penny is nothing like velma, she is caring for her friends and is and extrovert person. I don't see it out of character for her to be trying to make friends with the new girl.
This show is rated pg not g so it is up to the parents. The characters aren't perfect they should not be role models. There are worse characters in childrens media than in this show =) peppa and Caillou come to mind if people still watch those.
I paused the video before I can remember anything being said but did you ever watch the original series? it was AWESOME, and this show does carry over certain things. Such as in that show Michael, while looking more like a boy had always been flamboyant and loved fashion and Penny's supposed "best friend" has always been a bit of a back stabbing, in it for herself, ratchy like B. While Zoe has been the taller, awkward and nerdy looking girl so it wasn't a "Woke, white racisim" moment or whateer on her part here. At least I'd hope it wouldn't be. A aside from a few clips here and there I've honestly not watched this series
First velma now this, bro you need help?
HELP ME
Amen brother, let's do this.
Lets do thisssssss
Imagine being in a rap game and not being thugs.
Scream V and VI actually doesn't do the stereotypical thing, and they are actually enjoyable.
Can't wait for your season 2 review because it was something
Working my way towards it. Wanted to make sure I got the full context before jumping in
I’m a few weeks late on ur video, but I can tell u haven’t watched the original or completely forgot how they were. The example is how Trudy is with Oscar or even how her friends are. They always been like that except for Michael they just made him full out gay instead of “hiding” it. It was stereotypical yes, but that was part of the show and somewhat true IRL before and even now. Try to get some details about the show first than just jumping into it and assuming.
That being said, man they did this show so dirty it’s a true crime. I’ll admit there are some episodes that weren’t that bad, but once the wokeness shows up it’s ridiculous and stupid. Seriously I actually HATED a few episodes they had and I’m not one to actually hate on anything too easily.
Just because trudy treats oscar like this in the original doesnt make it any more right to emasculate him on a constant basis lol
@@Hypnoticc that’s the joke. Back then no one took that seriously and if u watched the whole series then u can clearly see that. It still plays it in the new one, but thanks to how crappy our society has been it now looks like how u see it and unfortunately it probably is taken that way now
The detailed coloring and fluid animation could've fooled anyone. If it weren't for the woke trash, this couldve been the only show with more effort in the west
Of course this show is made like that... obviously. It is modern days right.
can somebody tell me why explaining the time change was necessary? All it did was add more cringe.
It’s not like I care, I’ve always seen how woke this crap gets, I’m just saying it was completely unnecessary and we made it worse.
All it does for me is encourage me to go get the prequel and watch it.
I did not like the first 2 minute-ish where the "little" girl grow 1 foot 4 in one night!!! I'M OFFENDED!!
who said white people can’t have a body? i’m literally tall skinny and i’m not white and have white friends who have a beautiful figure. someone looking like zoe is normal growing up.
honestly that was a whole reach. i feel like you went into this the same way people went into the bel air reboot: automatically not liking it without realizing it’s the same story.
and atlanta did the same white rapper thing so do you have the same energy for that show? y’all are taking this show waaaaayyy too seriously
Can't they sense the tide turning ?
I was pretty young when the originally came out. Lol 😂 I was 12 when the original was cancelled in 05. The new series is made to appeal to gen z way too much. On top of the SJW BS
So we have Velma season 2 LOL 😆
Woker and Broker
For the most part, it just seems like similar to how the original was. Sticky leaving way he did, pretty baller. 15:00 Penny is more of a TJ from Recess than Velma. Michael I don't remember.
It's not woke (maybe a little), for the most part it seems pretty close to the original in tone/humor. The magical aging up is weird considering they're still in middle school and not high school by now.
I have an arcade room and thinking of creating a shit shelf with action figures for Kit from Willow, She Hulk (there is a figure being sold for over 300), Velma (after she's painted brown) and Galadriel somehow. Maybe I'll ask Amazon to make Rings of Power figures.
This is not woke!
Did you not watch the video. I literally said this episode wasn't woke lol
@@Hypnoticc The show itself is annoying.
That thumbnail...... all I could think seeing it was...... "It is not going to suck it's self" meme...... I am going to Hell.
LOL
The Proud Family should be woke and proud of it.. The ones always complaining about something being woke are the ones dividing this country and seeking to rewrite history in their own misguided view.. Black children today need many other shows just like The Proud Family. Stay Woke..
All the characters in the Proud Family are toxic as hell. Kids do not need to see or emulate that. They deffinaitly don't need the show to tell them that behavior is ok. I don't care what color the characters are. Toxic is a no go from me.
