    Hi Andrew We bought an Adria twin 600sp in June this year. After caravaning for 30 odd years just the two of us now we love it .Just get one they are brilliant, love the videos Paula & Bob from Manchester.

    Most definitely a winner! But was wondering what the Fumes from a Motorcycle would be like in a enclosed space, could see a couple of E-bikes or just Peddle Bikes. You have the best of both worlds with your rig, no fumes and a cool living space!

    The U.K. version even has a small oven and grill, what more can you ask for, a fantastic van.
    Andrew it’s not recommended closing the blinds any more than 2/3rds when it’s sunny. This can lead to an excessive build up of heat between the blind and the window. There should be a sticker warning you of this on the window, causing the window to distort and can also damage the blind. But thanks for your wonderful videos I just love them.

    The movable bed, movable wall in the bath & sun roof all make this van stellar!👍🏻

    This bed is exellent addition to the Van. You can use it like the normal version, but have the option to rise it to any level. Let’s say you have a large dog, no problem, rise the bed 20cm and dog would have perfect place under the bed

    That does look nice Andrew. Our favourite is still the Bürstner Harmony Concept. Your “Hello” ‘s are part of your character. We look forward to them and it would seem strange with none. Best regards Martin a Anne

    Hi Andrew... I'm simply loving your Videos again this year...thank you so much..!! I like the Adria to, I have the same tap on my 2002 Luna Clubman!
    As for the bed, for me if that could levitate to reveal a lounge area I'd buy one as I'm uncomfortable sat up for more than 1/2 an hour.
    Keep safe mate...looking forward to Motorhome adventures..

    Andrew, the cup holder issue is no longer an issue just do some searching you can have the lockable cupboard and have cupholders too. I'd put the link in but I'm a subscriber not an advertiser. Keep up the good work.

    That’s a very nice campervan love the moving bed makes it roomier during the day time for those wet british summers. Very masculine design I like it a lot.

    As you may be able to tell, I LOVE this van! But as much as I do, there's no way I could afford one right now, and if I were to get one it would be to tow the Airstream, not instead of, so I would not have that money towards it. There's no way I could condense my life from the truck and the Airstream into a 6.4m van. But a man can dream... ;@)

      Yeah, I'm going to be building my own motorhome into a van, and one plan there is to incorporate a lifting bed. I hadn't planned on using the mechanism so as to fit a motorbike, but now that I see it I figure that would be a realistic option. My plan was just to have the elevating bed so I can have sofas underneath without having to make the bed two times a day, every day. The only trick is to figure out the lifting mechanism, a Happijac lift would be one way, but there are also winches.

    • @karlejnarch
      @karlejnarch 6 років тому +2

      I fully agree with you. When you are living full time in a caravan, as we are too, the best solution would be to tow the caravan using a van like this one. The alternative would be a "full blown" motorhome, but then the flexibility goes out the window. One big advantage with a caravan is to park it on a site, and then use your car/truck/van/minibus/whatever to go sightseeing.

    • @katcankan7129
      @katcankan7129 6 років тому +1

      @@karlejnarch The advantage of the van is that you take the van sightseeing. So for me it is a van. Far more versatile.

    For those of us who ride recumbent trikes, this feature is highly desirable. ICE trikes are made in England and some models fold up for more convenient storage. Get a video put together that highlights this feature.

    I have had an opportunity to view an adria twin, the finish is amazing but I need to be able to fit 2 mx bikes in ours as well as jetway tanks . We now have a Citroen L4H3 on order and am self building to the Adria specs/ colours . Probably just a manual 2 level bed though . Wish me luck 😂

    if I hadn’t bought a sprinter I would get this, It’s a lovely wagon and fortunately Adria have got rid of the flat bottomed sink. Those seats by the table look a little more comfortable than most others in various vans. I don’t like the non twisty sink tap in the kitchen and the knobs for the cooker have no protection so fingers of asbestos are needed😂 plus to have the ability to put ones bike in the back is excellent. Could do with refillable gas tanks or it’d be a pain in the neck to have to remove bike to get gas canisters out, I’m sure it can have a gas low or similar thing fitted. However a big fridge with only hookup and 12 volt, no gas, shame but have to fit some lithium batteries or 4 110’s for a bit more available power🤔

      The thing to watch actually is the payload with the van at 3,500kg. Check the weight of your bike against the payload of the van, and if your licence will allow you to upgrade if need be. Cheers!

    As always great content....
    Well presented
    We are working from a 1900 kg mtplm(?) Caravan.
    Are there any camper vans you think may be suitable to use as a tow vehicle for that?
    I know I will have to take overall length into account too.
    Its all overly complicated for my poor brain.
    Cheers.

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  6 років тому +1

      I think you will have to watch the train weight of the van - its overall weight capacity including the van and the caravan. And make sure it is powerful enough!

    I was about to put a deposit down on a 160bhp Auto with a few optional extras (spare wheel, comfort pack mainly) at Birmingham NEC yesterday until I realised that the remaining payload would be just 255kg....bear in mind that’s without luggage, food, dog, motorbike, pushbikes, water, the wife....anything....incredibly low payload for something being advertised as a motorcycle carrier, very disappointed. People can - and will - very easily go over the Maximum permissible weight of their not extremely careful....not to mention the payload could vary +-5% (a further 150kg potentially...)

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  4 роки тому

      This is something I also discovered yesterday. Adria is aware they need to up the chassis, which of course will then take it over 3.5t.

    • @blueether191
      @blueether191 4 роки тому

      Andrew Ditton I’ve gone ahead with the order as it is a cracking van, there’s always the option of “up-plating” the van to 3700kg for a cost of £350 through SV Tech if the extra 200kg is a big issue 👍. My concern is for all of the people who don’t even question “payload” and are unwittingly driving around illegally and presumably uninsured if they have a prang.....

    So with the bed up the bike fits and with the bed down I presume that it does not. So while you sleep, the bike is out in the weather and where it can be seen. While you are asleep, the bike is vulnerable. I think I dislike that.

    • @lorcro2000
      @lorcro2000 6 років тому

      Yeah, but the option is to have no motorcycle with you at all, or having it on a trailer which is much more cumbersome. And then they can steal the entire darn trailer... :) win some lose some.

    • @espergaerdeflyt
      @espergaerdeflyt 6 років тому

      I saw this van in Düsseldorf, and when the bed is down, it does not rest on any of the sides, so i think it is possible to sleep on the bed in any elevated state, just like the Pössl Roadcruiser Revolution.

    • @lorcro2000
      @lorcro2000 6 років тому

      Yes, this bed seems to have been done on something like a Happijac bed lift system. The Happijac systems at least have (I believe) a 600 lb static load, and 450 lb if you're moving the bed up/down. So 270 kilos worth of human can sleep on that in any level of elevation (again, assuming it's a Happijac, which is pure speculation). But it would get pretty claustrophobic to sleep right under the ceiling.

    Making a camper van out of a 2012 Ford Transit box car moving van. It has 2,18m heigth inside so I can fit my KTM 500 under the permanent bed making it a sealed room for the garage so I do not need to smell the fumes from the bike... And it even has a lifting back door that kan take 750kg :)

    Just too, too long to be classified as a campervan, at most they should be 5.4m and preferably under 5m.
    As a dog person Andrew you should be supporting the search for dog safe vans, rather than smelly motorbikes, that have to be removed to use the bed.How about a proper dog crate?
    Ours was made by Barjo and fitted between the wheelarches of a Transit. Our beardies could stand up in it and there was still room on top for a folded grooming trolley, folded puppy pen and a pair of folding chairs. All in a 4.9m long Transit.
    The crate was 2ft deep with a removable central divider. There was a door each side facing out the back of the van, so you could remove one dog at a time and put them in the crate without them trailing mud through the van. When they weren't muddy etc you could open up the single central door that spanned either side of the divider. This opened into the van's central gangway and was left open at night so they could choose to be in the van or in the crate. The crate also had a tiny door that matched the door that accessed the Thetford cassette. So you didn't have to pull the crate out of the 'boot' to deal with the Thetty.
    Too many folk travel with pets loose in vans and it's an accident waiting to happen.
    The thing about having a purpose=mage removable crate is that you can still take the crate out and use the space for other stuff when needed. Too many vans, especially PVC's forget about storage of larger items of gear and have a mania for cramming every little space with furniture. Try getting two bikes in your average UK built PVC, you can't, but we can.
    And another thing, when are you going to stop this fetish about vans with main doors on the wrong side. You spend most of your time in the UK, review more UK product, an offside door is a pain and UK potential owners need to be made more aware.
