The air in the cylinder weighs about 1.1kg/m3 so the difference between an empty tube and a full one is (0.2 Liter) is 44 grams and since the tube is mostly in front of the center of gravity the rifle becomes rear heavy if you have a little air in the cylinder in case you are careful with the balance and it matters to you.

Maybe longer barrel has more rifling groves which increase spin movement in pellet helps keeping pellet stable, better for accuracy
