You know what? Almost all of Insomnium songs could be really great philharmonic pieces, I love that its metal with actual melody, its almost nostalgic sometimes, its really great. I am listening to those guys for more than a year and i discover something new in every song all the time. They should be more popular.

one of the best european metal bands, they represent the soul of metal, unlike metal bands that play only heavy, technical, emotionless music. You can really feel the music, alot of metal is so technical that it almost feels lifeless these days.
They and Amon Amarth.

im a huge metal fan lol, however i can say i stopped finding new bands as of 2009, but i still know most of the classics...my point was some music is over-techinical, they sacrifice beauty for technicality, which isnt that attractive. insomnium writes incredible melodies, better than most scandanavian bands of its time, as far as I know, as far as their style i mean. that eerie, sad, beautiful finnish style

They are incredible, I saw them as a supporting act for Paradise Lost and they brought the house down. I had never heard of them before that night and now Insomnium play a big part of my life. I fucking love this group and can't wait to see them again sometime. Really looking forward to the new album Shadows Of The Dying Sun.
DUDE I KNOW. i actually pre-ordered one of the bundles for the new album. they are seriously my favourite band now, almost more so than moonsorrow. they do weird stuff to me.
Saw them as supporting act for Dark Tranquillity back then in Milan. they were a completly unexpected surprise for everyone.

Saw them in Leipzig (GER) twice. Once as support for CoB. They are fuc*** awesome. You can totally feel their energy! I hope you get the chance to seem them live!
Niilo's bass tone is fucking amazing. Really good bass player, songwriter and vocalist. Now that they have 3 guitarists (Jani, Markus and Vile) their sound will get a lot better in live versions. Not that it was bad. It was always fucking amazing, but they will touch (if not surpass) the Iron Maiden quality. Amazing band, hope I get to see them live sometime ❤️🤘🏻

Saw them live with dark tranquillity and freaking loved them. The sound in this video isnt the greatest. But actually being there is amazing. only complaint was the mic for the clean vocals seemed too low. But my fiance who is not into metal in anyway even enjoyed the show.
Was a great concert. I was in the front row at the other tent-stage, waiting for Ghost Brigade. Love both bands - and both just were so great.
These guys are just the best I can find in melodic death metal. Hope others find these guys to.

I love this band so much, they are amazing and perfect :')
People on here saying they suck live, it must have been a bad show or the sound guy wasn't doing a good job because I just seen them in cleveland with Dark Tranquillity and everything sounded great. Now I did have a problem with DTs vocals. A lot of songs weren't audible and turned to far down. That was the only negative of the show other than that both bands were great!
Anyone taking this video as evidence that 'they suck' is clearly an idiot. The sound is muffled as fuck from the shitty recording equipment. You'd have to be seriously lacking in cognitive resources to miss that.
I also agree must be the sound guys fault because they've always been Awesome live when I saw them \m/

Love these guys, I just wish they had an actual keyboard player present at the scene with them, I hate when one feels that they are playing to a "recording" - it feels very hmmm artificial. - but this is by far one of my favorite bands the last 2-3 years... !
I know this is a while ago, but I think it is safe to say that Insomnium is more a studio band than a live band. Nothing wrong with their talent or music producing ability, I just think they probably don't play live often enough to become as smooth as a well oiled machine...

Christ I just want you to know you come off as an elitist by saying that, like god how can't you see that. "if you don't like this band they're an idiot" I don't really listen to em anymore because their music is rather repetitive, I do enjoy their newest release though. But yeah their lyrics are way above average for the genre.
I work with someone like that. All she listens to is tastelessness shitty auto-tuned mainstream hip-hop garbage. She asks me how I can relax to my "screaming music", which I replay, "because it's actual music".

I love insomnium. But i love them in clubs and a few years ago on the t-stage on summerbreeze or other little festivals and concerts. I think wacken is too snobby. Insomnium is the best melodic death metal.band for me. I go to every concert since 15 years. Great
