The ATG performance was once in a life time, but amazingly so was that sound set up.

First metal concert i've been to when i was in high school. At The Gates and Napalm Death on April 26th, 1996 in my country back in Slovenia. Yes, i was speechless.
I saw Pantera in Kodeljevo May 2000. But that shit you experienced in -96 was heavier:)

I was there, and before they announced that they were coming back together we thought we would never get to see these legends. Saw them three times that summer, and now i saw them again two days ago in my hometown for fucking free since my town has a festival atm. They were as good two days ago as they were at wacken -08 =) Nice to hear new material live as well.

I like everything about this band, the voice, the drumming, the riffs, the changing meters, the sound of guitars and bass guitar. The mix here is good, love it
Easily one of the best metal bands of all time. Fantastic show, so much emotion and aggression. It's a shame we have to live with the guilt of having created metalcore.
Sucks that metalcore gave way to some incredible musicians like Nick Hippa and Jordan Mancino of As I Lay Dying who are generally tighter live musicians.
At the Gates is an awesome band, but it’s pretty shitty to discredit the talent present within at least of few of the metalcore greats.
@@djentrification1631 Oh yeah, melodic metalcore of the early 2000s is great sometimes. But the fans do not care nor appreciate good music, and the artists lack originality, along with a lot of bands sounding way too similar with the bad production. A lot of the songwriting is just downright awful and predictable in the verse chorus verse format. Not to mention the use of breakdowns to fill in for good riffs. I'll admit Killswitch Engage, All that remains, BFMV, and AILD have a few good albums.

@@g1oomybear Fusion between hardcore and metal. Melodic metalcore resembles a lot of melodic death metal, At The Gates being a huge influence for a lot of the bands, but often are distinguished by metalcore having breakdowns and being more punk. I don't understand why people hate it.
I was there, Cacass killed it, awesome set then out came At The Gates... Absolutely blew everyone else away.
Cynic were also great, but ATG were the best.

This was an incredible show. I was front row for the whole thing. They played every song from Slaughter of the Soul that night. Seeing these guys was a dream come true.

I was there and it was one of the greatest moments of my life.
I liked the vocalist back in 1994, with the red rastas. I even dyed my hair red because of him.
His vocals are on point. Saw these guys live and they didn't miss a beat. One of the greatest bands 🤘
I didn't even know them when i stood in front of that stage and HOLY SHIT this was awesome :D

Caught them on that same tour in Dallas. Thought it might be a last chance, then they make album upon album. Most fruitful reunion tour ever.

my son just popped in in the middle of the night and i was listening to this show, i had to show him the beginning of show, slaughter of the soul. he liked it normally hes ont into D-metal but he do like the swedish melodic metal.

I am in epic awe for this band being pioneers for so much metal today which hasnt got half the quality in riffs or melody. I mean, this is more or less a "best of"-gig,FROM SONGS THEY WROTE FROM CIRKA 1990 TO FUCKIN 1995!!! LONG before rest of the world caught on the melodic death metal scene. Masterful. I am from Gothenburg, Sweden, and mighty fuckin proud.
