- Fifty years ago, life expectancy, education, and GDP in East Asia and the Pacific were well below the global average. Today, the region is home to some of the world’s largest financial centers, most innovative tech hubs, and fastest high-speed trains. For decades, Japan and the Four Asian Tigers (Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan) led the region economically, but today no country can compare to China, whose rise has turned it into the world’s second-largest economy. This economic success has also come with greater geopolitical ambitions as China works to expand its influence around the world and as far afield as the Arctic Circle. How is afg SA? Geographically it sits on iranic plate, culturally it is closer to central asia and ME. in US census afghans are west asians under population census and in canada they are listed under central asians. so this makes so sense. Myranmmar is also considered SA but its not on your map.

Well since they considered South East Asia as well in this video, Singapore (#34 highest GDP), Hong Kong (#32 highest GDP), Macao (#82 highest GDP), China (#2 highest GDP), Japan (#3 highest GDP), Taiwan (#21 highest GDP), South Korea (#12 highest GDP), and Thailand (#22 highest GDP) must be considered since they are all economically pretty powerful.

Technically for culture yes, in SEA pretty much cultural influences by indosphere and only little influenced by sinosphere (expect some countries like vietnam), but about race and language, you're wrong, in southeast asia there many major ethic and language group like Austronesian, Austroasiatic, Tai-Kadai, Hmong-Mien, Karen(idk what the hell this group are), even Chinese, AND THEY EVEN NOT RELATED TO SOUTH ASIAN.
