    Dimming the lights- You'd think it wouldn't be needed in space, but it is actually important. Back in the 50's and 60's when nuclear submarines became a thing, both scientists and admirals thought that the need for, 'night and day' would go away when the ship is deep in the darkness of the sea with no windows for months at a time. They were wrong. Even if the ship is kept always lit people will naturally go to a day/night cycle- and when the ship itself didn't darken for night, it affected the sailor's ability to concentrate as well as their mental health. Submarines that maintained night and day distinctions had crews that were more healthy, alert and responsive than those on subs that did not.

    But Data evidently suffers from "Baby Yoda Disease". It's not like he was just reactivated and placed on The Enterprise. He's been in Star Fleet for like 26 years at this point (He tells this to Picard when he complains about not getting assigned to lead a ship). How is it that he hasn't figured out any of the basics of human behaviour in all that time?

    I never understood Keiko's sudden anticipation for the wedding after she had spent so much time rejecting advice from both Data and Troi. If we had seen even one instance, one moment, where she thinks canceling the wedding was a mistake, I'd be fine with this. But this is a compete 180 from when we last saw her.

    Still confused why the 'night watch' has lowered lights, or even why they would call it night watch. It's a ship in space, calling them 1st, 2nd, and 3rd watch is the better course and having lighting throughout the ship be at a normal level throughout would be the best course. If there was some kind of day/night cycle they were trying to reinforce they would do that on a deck by deck basis for crew quarters and recreational areas associated to each watch rotation, so each watch would have their 'day' shift when they were on duty regardless of the time; however, every duty area and standing watch would be at full illumination.

      @Torsin2000 2 роки тому +1

      @@keelanmurphy9941 that's just it, with a ship the size of the Enterprise you would have Decks allocated for each watch cycle, so while on their shift they would be at their peak performance. Meaning their decks would have that kind of atmosphere and light/dark lighting. Duty areas, like the bridge/engineering/etc would be lit 100% the entire time. I know from personal experience that your duty areas don't dim their lights during "night".
