Yes, some kids go through a phase of experimenting with different gender ideas or trying to be quirky or unique, but LGBT+ people have been around since humans have existed. It's just recently we stopped murdering them for simply coming out. Also homosexuality is well documented in hundreds of non-human animals. Men and women are biologically different, but there's also a spectrum between the two genders, and some people are born intersex or have some other genetic variation that makes them neither purely male or female, so dehumanizing them also isn't the answer.
