It’s so nice to hear a honest review . Thanks for a one season review. Let us know how your next season goes.
I bought this shack because of your review, i love this shack, all usable fishing area
Thank you! I'm glad you have had a good experience!
Great review! As soon as I wrap up my research paper I'll be pulling the Otter out and getting it ready. I'm thinking about a smitty sled this year, I pull by hand (for now). I may build a track sled or get a snow dog to tow my gear.
Nylon lock nuts might help keep the hardware tight too. Tight lines bud, be safe!
Such a good review. Now I just need a good review for some of the other flip overs
Thanks for the review. Didn’t see anything that would scare me away from buying one.
Awesome review videos and I wish you had an otter to one on. LoL, No one seems to go into it the way you did. Thanks for sharing.
Great review! We bought the 2600 in the off season, right place right time deal. We will ensure we tuck the skirt, however I cannot guarantee we won’t step on the bar ourselves lol Cheers! Tight lines!
Good luck out there!
Good info 👊
You remind me so much of Brett McCombs from Target Walleye
Perfect timing to see this video Sgt.!!! Planning on putting my 2600 together in the next couple of days with a friend of mine!! A couple of questions for ya. How far down is your floor from the top of the sled!! I see you don't have the support bar holders anywhere. What size bolts did you end up using for the chairs? One last thing. Wonder if using Loctite on the screws for the frame and bolts when putting it together would help keep them coming loose during the season? I know it might be tedious at first. Thanks!!!!
I put the floor about 1in 1/2 to 2 in down. I put the support holders on the top of the seat bars. I don't know what size bolt I used. I just had one laying around the garage I put in. Loctite would work perfect! I'll probably do that tonight. I'll probably add Loctite to all my seat bolts as well. Thanks for saying that out loud!
I built a ski lift sled to pull mine by hand, it's a whopping 97 pounds with no extra gear! Trying to figure how to lose the steel framing and keep the comfortable seats.
That is the shack I’m hoping to get this year
I’ve got a question In regards to the proper collapsing of the shack at end of day. I collapse the shack like I think it should be but find it very wide on top of the tub, to the point where I can barely get the travel cover on. Am I missing something? Or am I not collapsing it properly.
I don't have a travel cover, so I'm not sure. But there is really only one way to collapse it.
Great detail, thank you!! How’s the flipover doing? Since owning the 2600 have you had any issues with the pole locking mechanisms slide in or any issues with the flipover at all? Anything you’d change/improve?
I still love the flip over! One of the seat bolts broke, easy fix to put a new one in. The slide mechanisms are doing great other than the last bar, I had stepped on it and bent it. I did my best to straighten it out, but it still gives me a little trouble. My only "wish" list would be to install brighter lights or sew some in like I have done on all my pop ups. But I'm very satisfied with everything else with this shack, still highly recommend if your wish lists are similar to mine! Good luck on the ice!
My seat broke as well
Those bolts and screws will loosen constantly. I put blue lock tight on and help out a lot
Yeah! That's what I'm doing this year when i get it pulled out.
AWESOME Video. I watched your video when you bought it and now your review. Can you tell me where you got the flooring from?
Northland Tool, the rubber flooring is pretty cheap there.
Hey can you do a video on the best way you have found to do set up and tear down of the 2600?
Once I'm on the lake, I'll do a short!
@@SgtOutdoors that would help a lot!! Almost knocked my self out with the top bar above the doors lol
Have you had a problem with the red clips on the pole? The spring in mine broke and I don’t know how to fix it.
I have not. But they are very simple contraptions when you take them apart, maybe you can find a bit more heavy spring to put back in.
Got one last weekend
On the chair assembly, is the front black piece flush with the sled? I know I'm doing something wrong but I can't get it flush
It lays over the front edge. That's the way it should be i believe.
@@SgtOutdoors so it lays over the edge of the sled on yours maybe an inch or so? Just seeing some others' pictures online, it looks flush and I thought maybe I was doing something wrong with mine.
How do you get the travel cover on? one of the support bars sticks out to much on the side.
I don't have a travel cover. Sorry I can't help.
I think one of the bars aren’t down enough.
Is there room in the sled for all the fishing gear? Augers chainsaws etc?
I think so. Should be plenty of room in and then on top of for everything you need.
Did you attach leather strip to sled and skin with the screws.
Yeah
@@SgtOutdoors do you (or will you) re-screw it every year? They say to take the whole skin off for storage but I also don’t imagine putting holes in the skin every year is great for it either.
Why did you take the skin off? You didn't screw the skin to the tub?
To store it for the summer, I didn't want to take chances of mice eating it up. Yes i did screw it in. I'm not worried about those holes.
How big are the holes when you screw the trim on? I just put together my 2800 and am at the trim stage and I am a bit hesitant to screw it on. Any tips?
Does the 2600 come with the center tray?
Mine did, yes
@@SgtOutdoors yea this year they added a support bar and Eliminated the tray.
My cover seems super tight. How is yours?
I'd say its perfect. Not so tight the doors are hard to zip but tight enough it doesn't flap in the wind too much.
I just got one too. Same thing. Bottom extension poles barely make it all the way out…. I’m going to unlatch and reset the fabric and see if it gets any better…
