Two tricks that i've discovered over time for removing smells from stuff is using Bounce Dryer sheets ,, or using ones with Febreze in them. Another idea that friend of mine told me about was putting items in a bag closed off with Unscented Kitty Litter in it. Both get rid of the scents over time.

Ah kitty litter that's one thing I completely forgot to mention! I've never tried dryer sheets myself but it's certainly one to try in future situations. Thank you for watching 😊

I’d strongly suggest using baking soda and not using Febreeze or dryer sheets. I’ve received some “cleaned” that way and it’s terrible! Chemical perfume scents are no better than smoke. Baking soda works great just give it time.

I've just had a bunch of Doctor Who figures arrive off eBay that stink of smoke ARGH! Tried a figure bath and drying outside, worked a little but after a few days they still smell so trying the bicarb method. I read to make it into a paste with water so I've tried that - fingers crossed! Great video!

Oh I've not heard that, sounds like one to try next time. I actually have a box of Who figures I need to fig bath at some stage. Had them, getting on for, 3 years 😅 but I just keep forgetting I have them. They are a bit of a mess though, think they had some smell to them. Either way, I'm not an expert but I don't think they're the easiest figs to clean either 😬 all those rubber shirts seem to hold smells and dirt pretty well

@@dswnetwork Yeah the ones with the rubber coats smell the worst! If you need a hand identifying any of them let me know :)

Great video! After using the eraser, how soon after should I put the figure in the sink with dish detergent? I know you said the shavings get in the joints, so I assume I have to clean the joints in a fig bath?

Hmm that's a good question. Honestly I don't know, they should be good to go straight away I imagine!

Hello I collect figure but their mainly Anime figures I just bought one and sadly it smelled like cigarettes and I am sadly allergic to that so how do get rid of cigarette stunch and the stickyness out the figure does baking soda effect anime figures?

I'm sorry to hear that, that's a real shame. Baking Soda should work just the same or you can try dryer sheets

I had no idea you could use a rubber. I've been using a cotton bud dipped in lighter fluid for pen marks and the like for years.

Hmm I'd not heard of that technique actually 🤔

@@dswnetwork you can also use it to thin enamels into washes and remove stickers from boxes. It's quite versatile but obviously not for kids

Hmm tough one. I recently got one with cigarette smell and left it by a cracked open window for a while. That seems to have worked pretty well. I guess you could also try dryer sheets in a ziplock bag
