powerful song by Mike Lindup. Annie has a great alto - contralto voice and quite a vocal range . she also sings falsetto too of course . Edinburgh lass Annie Mccaig has also recorded and sung live with other bands including Simple Minds and Tears for Fears
La esvucho por milesima vez. Increible cada vez. Lindup es Maravilloso. Anny Jakko ,nose wuedan atras! Ensanle sublime! Este tema es muyyy bueno. Su musica es increible. Armonia, ritmo ,sonido. Toda ella contempla las bases de la musica. Tantos años y sugue estremeciendo. Desde Argentica, les hago llegar mi gran sfmitracion ,desde hace mss de 30 años desde Argentina!!!!!!!!
Just to note that this is not a Level 42 track, it's from Mike's solo album "Changes". It's a fantastic album. Great to see Mark King playing on this too!
Mark kong es generoso en extremo con sus amigos de la banda Level 42. Interpretacoon Fabulosa de Mike ,Anny,Jakko. No me canso de escuchar esta version. Es simplemente Majestuosa. Emociona.❤
backing vocals singer Annie McCaig , behind Mike Lindup , has quite a vocal range . to me she sings from male tenor to soprano . She also worked with tears for fears , simple minds and others
I'm agnostic and even I get this powerful spiritual feeling listening to this song . We need to go the next step beyond the spiritual feeling to active tangible action & giving to those in need . For one thing, we need to pressure our government representatives to tax higher the filthy rich in "the city", on wall street in the US, and the billionaires everywhere for government to publicly aid the homeless and needy . direct giving is good too . But i can tell you from experience working for so called charities and so called non profits and the most insidious, public/private partnerships, almost all of them are self serving , take most of your donation for themselves and "trickle down" what little is left of your donation to the needy they ostensibly say they serve first and foremost . Its a crock of shyte .
Level 42 were due to tour Australia and New Zealand for the first time last May but with covid that has been postpone to this April. If Level 42 do finally come down under I'd be more than happy for them to play a few songs from Changes, including this one.
Despite the fact that Level 42's best lineup was the Gould brothers, Phil and Boon, this is a great song from Mike Lindup's "Changes" album...Jacco loves Allan Holdsworth, it's really clear here!!!
great song ! great interplay a.k.a. counterpoint between Mike Lindup on keyboards & Jakko Jakszyk on guitar beginning within the last quarter of this live performance of this song . This performance also reveals Lindup can sing lower than falsetto, I'd guess in the tenor range . Interesting in this live performance , mike is singing mostly singing tenor while Annie and Jakko are singing most of the falsetto parts
again great song musically & spiritually . But the fact is despair, misery and poverty will only come to past when the world's wealth and worth(which includes our food, shelter, water, medicine etc) is share a lot more equally . the hell with the gambling casino for the filthy rich aka the so called free market
jakko's backing vocals are sublime!
Blimey Jakko!
Este tema es maravilloso!
Anmy en coro es ,loas Mike es un grannnn interprete.
El tema es dimplemente excelente!
Desde Argentina.fanatica de Level 42

Annie’s backing vocals in this one is just amazingly beautiful.

Lev fan since the early 80s. But this drum track, and wider composition is absolutely fantastic . Phil man, wow...

Hi. I've just done an interview with Mike and we discuss the inspiration of every track on Changes. I'm uploading it on April 6th.

Actually one of the best Level 42 live lineup. Long time that I haven't heard Mike Lindup synth solo. And Annie / Jakko backing vocal was very good.

Excelente versión en concierto, es un rolon 🎉

Sounds like dark is the night by shakatak - or is it the other way round lol
I don't think so!!!
The chorus melody to this is the same as Dark Is The Night by Shakatak. Anybody know which song came first?
Wow. Good point. I hadn’t spotted that.
Nice. But Mike, please don't sing. You're not a singer.
You're dumb as fuck!!
Yea, even Annie and Mark are not powerful and great vocalists either,,,,,,,,,,,
Are you drunk 😂🍻?
Then go and do better!! He's and EXCELLENT SINGER! Dumbass!!
