Fun fact: Kola won this tournament with an upset factor of 19!? And only lost to Sparg0 and Sonic the top 2 seeds of the event. Absolutely Goated run

Kola was ranked 15th out of 16 players and won the whole thing.
Leo finally beating gluto and shinymark was hype to watch. The Japan buff is real.

But honestly I think if Leo keeps practicing the MK - ROB MU he can beat Zomba with MK (if you hit all your ladders and bridges meta knight can kinda just combo ROB to death at 30% every stock, !BONK had some pretty dominant sets vs Zomba back when he was the best MK player)
@@revengeoftheshreks1860I haven’t seen a single person upset about that loss. Leo’s victories over spargo, gluto, and shiny mark, completely put him back on the map as a top 10 player. Especially when you look at his 5th at a P tier.

I low key think that Leo didn't win because he wasn't able to get his dair cheese with arsene like he did with bigboss, and that he would have been able to ride the momentum if he had clutched that game

I feel awful for Maister. It looked like he had a great chance to win the entire thing after going 3-0 in pools just to immediately get double 3-0d and sent home at 9th

Next time, maybe blur the game records when you show the results, kinda spoils that kola won when you see (5-1) under his name or that someone lost when you see (X-2) under their name

The most interesting fact to me. Is that 1st AND 2nd of the first invitational both got last .
To make it better, Dabuz got 3rd at the first invitational and also ended last yesterday. And Maister which was 4th last time didn’t made it to top 8 neither
And the 15th seed here got first!

I appreciate the replay of the venue as the finals ended. Didn't see that shot during the stream, but it's interesting to see the pop-offs of the other players!

Spargo vs Sonix round 1 losers, I knew that was the most important match before grand finals. Whoever won that set would've made it to grand finals on a losers redemption run.
Sonix could have won his pool but it was gonna be hard if he wasn’t on it which unfortunately he wasn’t, and having to play sparg0 at the start of the next day sucks also. He could have won that game 5 for sure against sparg0 but he didn’t get the landing nair into bair setup and sparg0 just kinda advantage stated him from there. It’s an unfortunate placement but he’s gonna be on his shit next time I know it.

@@ShallBePurified honestly Leo - Kola was pretty important too IMO, as if Leo won he definitely had a path to grands winners side (I know shuton was in that path, but I think with him having MK as a oilmar Counterpick and the fact that he beat his other two bracket demons this tournament Leo might've beaten Shuton) and Leo definitely could've beaten Spargo in grands. Kinda funny how loser's round one and winners round one were both so influential
What a sick tourney. Lumi is doing great things for the scene. There are mostly no honest characters, but the NO STEVE made for some good smash.

Dude how good is Kola, this guy stop Sparg0 on a rampage... Sparg0 said I wasn't feeling it today but I want to win today and remember I can win if I want to... and he almost did it... but Kola.. Kola was playing like a god they had 9 games and it finished in like 30 minutes... they deleted each other's stocks so fast

Great recap, but the only thing I wish you went more into detail on was group C, id gluttony won 3-1 we'd have an EXACT 3 way tie for 1st and who knows what would have happened then
I always rooting for my Latino fellows but this was a super entertaining tournament, Kola is a great and deserved champion.
When Kola is playing hot, he is such a beast and bear impossible to beat. Sparg0 is my goat but love to see these two duke it out. Absolute banger set.

It doesn't affect that much, honestly. Loses to Zomba and Leo won't affect him much, maybe the Kola loss will, but that depends on how Kola performs the rest of the season. Overall a 2nd place at a major after two 1st places at P tiers, he's still looking like the best player in the world. Sadly for Sonix, his case for being the best this season just got a lot harder. He needs to win everything he attends the rest of the season to stand a chance.

I personally don't think this loss to Kola should hurt Spargo; back-to-back-to-back finals in 3 high-level tourneys is a very strong case, and while I don't think Kola will pop off as hard as he did here the rest of the year I don't think it should matter short of Spargo missing every top 8 from now on.
Shuton and Asimo get some legs up (especially Asimo after winning Umebura(?) over Acola), though.
Don't forget, Spargo also got 3rd at another P tier this ranking season at Kowloon 12

I hope they arent using these in the rankings. If you refuse to use results in tournaments before regionals or super regionals that have top players in attendance these should not count either bc they arent open bracket

@@AshenDemon why is it that tournaments that are open bracket and have multiple top 10 players not count but this invitation does? This type of tournament denies the opportunity to outside opponents and allows these people to gain points off themselves
@@flavi0r the reason isn't open bracket, it's that pre major invitationals are treated as practice by top players so they don't play at full skill or use chars they normally wouldn't, this isn't a pre major invitational so it counts and it's not the only invitational that counts either

Fun fact: Kola isn’t gonna get anymore good results after this. In the past two seasons he only got top eight at two majors those being collision and patchwork. Every other major he got 17 place or worse.
I believe you are discrediting the ability of Kola to improve. All these players are still getting better over time.
