- Full flight envelope is displayed including extended slats slow flight and fast low passes ! The Messerschmitt Bf-108 is a very advanced fast cruiser design from the 1930`s which still is a great aircraft ! A 4 seater ME-109 basically !
Including special 12,7 litre displacement Argus As-10 260 HP Inverted V-8 Engine Sound !
Experienced vintage airplane pilot Tobias Ruppel is at the controls for its public debut having spent close to a decade on the ground !
With the assembly and all necessary checks completed the ME was ferried just the day before by expert pilot Stefan Hauke landing in windy conditions from Quax main base Paderborn.
The plane used to be part of Lufthansa airline classic collection paired with the Junkers Ju-52. Quax Club is also working on that one !

This aircraft type sounds great, has well harmonized controls and excellent flight characteristics.
Original 1930`s restored Messerschmitt Bf-108 B1 Taifun D-EBEI is operated and maintained by Quax Flying Club and based now at Flugplatz Bienenfarm north west of Berlin city and Quax main base Paderborn EDLP.
The Bf 108 was adopted into Luftwaffe service during World War II , where it was primarily used as a personnel transport and liaison aircraft.

That Argus is so slow and "lazy" sounding that if I listened with my eyes closed I'd think it was a small radial of some sorts. (turns only 2000 rpm!). Thanks for sharing, very unique sound.

But they were in a Bücker Bü 181 Bestmann - but pretty close!
It flies just like the Me109 ! Not a coincidence, it was the aircraft Willi M. Stuffed a big engine in and made it into a single seat fighter it flew so well.

This aircraft should be reinterpreted with a modern engine and manufacturing.
I think it should still be all-metal, but it could be cleaned up aerodynamically and be given an engine suitable for unleaded avgas.

@@mothmagic1 not necessarily. The proportions can still be the same, the aero-optimisation can remain at the barely visible level and still have a huge effect.
For instance a choice of a similar, yet more advanced airfoil, which depends on higher manufacturing precision, newer, more efficient liquid cooled engine with CFD analysis of internal cooling drag, better, more precise fairing of retractable undercarriage etc...
The list of these things is long.
And we're not even touching the basic shape of the canopy.

My father had one here in Denmark OY-AIH. We had a lot of great times in it. He allowed me to take take the controls and fly it. I was 13-14 years old. Great experience for a kid :)
