R.Blackmore improved and matured a lot through the years and at that period with rainbow(95-97)he played at his very best!!!And D.White is the best Rainbow singer ever cause he can sing perfectly dio, bonnet and turner songs-just my opinion.
I saw Rainbow two times during the 90s, and it seems to me Blackmore was hitting his secons peak by then! The 90s Rainbow was, and is, my favourite incarnation of the band. Thay had a singer who could cover all eras of the band, and the man himself seemed to really enjoy it! I love Blackmore!!!!
I was right side center. I tried to get up front to shake Ritchies' hand, but by the time I got there the show ended. And I did see Mercyful Fate there too and Gwar and Cinderella.
yeah - this is a great recording. This is the first vid I've seen from the Stranger In Us All period. It's the last time he rocked, as the Blackmore's Night thing took off after this. Respect to him for doing his own thing, but I'm sure disappointed we don't see him play like this any more.
Boy, Richie must have done this because he needed the money. He played like he was bored and his re-rendering of this tune just didn't really go anywhere. The vocal was, to be kind, lackluster.
I was there at the Edge...now the Edge is closed and Ritchie is now playing 16th century crap. We all move on. Blackmore will go down as one of the great electric guitar players.
Well, who doesen't? But in any case, Doogie White could cover all areas of Rainbow better than anyone else, and he was of course the right choice for the 90s Rainbow.

I prefer White over Dio, has more range to cover all Blackmore's tunes, but thats just my opinion. :P
Where in the heck did he play in Palo Alto?
