- I do not own any of the rights to this song or video nor do I intend to make any profit off it. I just thought baffling that the entire song wasn't up as one file anywhere.
Due to the source, there's a few artifacts on the two points where I joined the original video parts.
R.I.P. Ronnie. Three years now and the song title is most fitting. -
you will never see the likes of this band ever again
Cozy..... definitely one of the best drummers!!
Ritchie the best guitar player of all Time 👍👍👍👍👍
That is why Blackmore is bad ass RnR. Leaving Purple, mega band, and form Rainbow, another mega band, not many musicians are that brave and briliant. And choose Dio for singer...man, Ritchie is pure rock genious! Cheers from Serbia
all Blackmore's projects were successful. Even Blackmore's Night (im not fan of such music but it has it's loyal fans)
POZDRAV OD MAKEDONIA.
Yeah fair enough- but don't forget Blackmore is NOT the easiest person to get along with! He's probably the worst besides Engvie Malmsteen. Hence Rainbow went thru 19 band members during its time......
This is hard rock on the highest level you can reach, musically. Daisley, Stone, Powell, Dio and Blackmore, pure magic!
I agree with you absolutly (y). The "gods"...
It needs no explanation the best of the best
@@kevincarroll2028 You can say that again! Pure magic! The Great masters of hard rock - at it´s BEST! You are right, so right! The Best of the Best! Blackmore, YES!
yess!! ..and Blackmore...
You're right!
still im sad when i turn on the radio WTF happend to rock music guys? we gotta bring this stuff back! damn shit today with no solos and just using guitar distortion as part of a crappy hip hop beat cant tell if these new guys are singing or having a nervous breakdown
There is lots of good music out there today. I’m 74 and an old head from the sixties. I love Deep Purple but this ain’t their best lineup.
@@jimmycain8669 well this aint deep purple. this was the best rainbow lineup imo. but i basically meant popular music and the newer metal music. yea i listen a ton of new stuff that rocks. i just search doom metal or stoner rock. i guess i shouldnt complain i'm almost 50 myself and back in our day we had to listen to the same tapes and CD's over and over. when i was a kid i never would've thought we'd be able to listen to pretty much whatever we wanted to for free.
When music was music, masterpiece.
Hands down the single greatest musical performance that has ever taken place on this planet. Jesus Christ himself couldn't do any better.
I've only followed rithie for 47 years the greatest guitarist ever I saw rainbow several times and ar donington 1980 brilliant I also saw reformed purple at knebworth I still follow so called purple it's a great band but it's no purple without rithie and the late great jon
One second of this is worth more than every hour of every season of American Idol combined.
Well said!
Infinitely more because zero times equals zero.
Im with ya bro 100
Aux créations tout aussi incroyables
Lol
This is why we never forget this " little man" with his unbelievable voice.
👌💯😢❤️🤝
Damn...what a great piece of music!!!
Honour to the Yardbirds for giving the song but Rainbow filled it with Life!!
The organist handling six (seven) rows of keyboards in genius should shame each other band fully overwhelmed by only ONE keyboard on the stage coming in the yrs after...and Blackmore...I mustn´t say more...or must I?! ;)
And don´t forget my real Rock´n´Roll Voice Dio...may he rest in peace...but imo best Hard Rock voice EVER!!
Thank God, somebody put this on UA-cam. Wonderfull!
Rainbow On Stage :-), Hier war Ritchie in Bestform....
Cozy Powell, what a show! Two drummers on the absolute top level, Cozy Powell and Ian Paice.
Best live act ever
Oh Richie Richie my guitar hero of all times...
Rainbow in this line up were the best hard rock band for sure.
YES!
Rainbow, Munich 77, the best live performance of history!!!!..awesome band,.. Ronnie and Cozzy`s performance was insane!!!!
and the keyboardist
@@ronturner5353 yes!!!!
the whole concert is one of the best moments in rock history. the guys are in top shape!
And the great Bob Daisley!
One of the greatest rock bands of all time and certainly one of the best live performances ever!!!!
This was the high point of rock music.
...bless the 70's. So lucky to have lived in those days of angels and demons.
And wizards!
R.I.P. to the awesome members RJ Dio, Jimmy Bain, Cozy Powell
Still I'm Sad
RIP... but the bass player here is Bob Daisley, not Jimmy Bain... ;)
R.I.P. ❤️
Would’ve loved to have had a rainbow reunion with this lineup in the mid 90’s a shame cozy had to pass away but I’m glad Ronnie said I’m not doing anything if cozy’s not with us . so it didn’t materialize obviously it was in the talking stages
Best live of Rainbow!
Ritchie, Ronnie, Cozy, Bob, David! So much pearls of rock in one Band!
I prefer Jimmy Bain, but Bob is great in this record, great Bob
The best line up of Rainbow
Pearls of rocks am beatifuls
@@user-dw2hi6lr7c , Best line up , Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Bain, Cozzy Powell, Tony Carey, and Ronnie James Dio.
I like the Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner eras as well but, damn, you can't top the Dio era. Bob Daisley and Cozy Powell make such a tight rhythm section and then you add David's keyboard, Ritchie's guitar and Dio's voice....damn. Just....damn. As great as the subsequent lineups were, this lineup blew them out of the water.
Ronnie James Dio is such a gentle man. He sang to me since I was six. Blessed greetings, 06.01.24, O.K.
David Stone was (is) an underrated keyboardist. His job is really excellent!
Blackmore was very demanding, to be keyboardist in his band was a privilege. There was a story told by David Rosenthal how he was auditioned with Rainbow. It was a task: "imagine that during the show guitar/bass/singer's mic lost power and disconnected. You need to fill the time with improvisation straight out of your head, until the power is restored for full band". Also it was a requirement that keyboardist must handle Hammond , Minimoog, etc. David never played that instruments before, but he borrowed Mini before audition to get familiar with it. and he passed that exam.
He is just a second Jon Lord in the world
@@awaken77 love these little insight stories, thanks for sharing
And for a big part responsible for Gates of Babylon.
Who did he play with after Rainbow?
THE DEFINITION OF CLASSIC ROCK!!!!
one of the best drummers... R.I.P. Cozy,,,
He and Bobby Caldwell (Captain Beyond, Armageddon) have always been my favorites. hard to not mention Tommy Aldridge, Bonham, and Carmine Appice as very close to favorite, but Cozy and Bobby just resonate more with me.
Yes, Cozy Powell and Ian Paice, don´t forget the great, great Ian Paice!
@@bk88bk88 I'd add Bobby Rondinelli, the only drummer, imho, capable of doing justice to Cozy Powell's songs (e.g. Headless Cross)
NUMBER 1
one of the best bands in human history!
you right......
and the most underrated
you can say that again.
it's hard to believe within a year of this performance I saw them OPEN, yes OPEN for REO Speedwagon!!!! At least I saw them, could've used a larger, make that MUCH larger dose!
@@raouferedda2711 Underrated! How do you figure? How can Blackmore, Dio, Powell, Stone and Daisley be underrated? One of the greatest hard rock band of All time. Underrated! Would not think so! If you are a true fan of hard rock, you have to love this. Rainbow, it does not get much better than this, besides of Deep Purple, MKII and MK III.
ONE WORD! PROFESSORS OF ROCK. NOT ANOTHER WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS MAGNIFICENT ROCK BAND. RAINBOW RULES.
It's an epic, just fuckin epic! One of the greatest concerts in rock history , listening it over and over again
I saw Cozy Powell perform this in Melbourne Australia in 1976. When he finished there was stunned silence, then everyone rose to their feet and applauded wildly. Noone was expecting it. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Wow, so lucky to have been there.
Unlike this performance there was dry ice smoke everywhere and pyrotechnics synced with the cannon blasts.
EVERY CAST, YOU WATCHED THE BEST DRUMMER ALL TIME.
The keyboard player is BY FAR THE BEST OF THEM ALL!!!!!
Legendary! Rainbow 1976 was my first rock concert, changed my life forever.
20:00 - I thought only John Bonham would be capable of doing that.. After 20 years listening to Led Zepp I discover this live footage.. HOLY SHIT... THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Many great drummers could do this😂. Ian Paice for example.
One of the best "keyboard + guitar" intro of history. Long Live Rainbow!
The position of THE BEST in that field is probably held by the same band lol
Probably the major reason why Live in Munich is one of the greatest live albums ever
Well, if you could find this one: DP VSOP LP 155 It also has "Stargazer"
Blackmore, Powell and Dio at their peaks, it doesn't get any better than this.
Longest song in Rock History and we love it !
i think genesis' "supper's ready" is two minutes longer... ;-)
romaneberle the length of supper's ready is 22:58...
Then there is A Passion Play by Jethro Tull that is 45:05 and is in fact one song for the whole album.
+David Allen , actually, many bands did longer songs live. For example, live version of Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin sometimes exceeded 30 minutes
With the longest ever performance of Dazed and Confused being 45 minutes
F'^kn Epic!.....Legendary Bassist ....Legendary Drummer...Legendary Guitarist....And the Legendary Golden Pipes of Ronnie James Dio....All performing at the peak of their musical skills... Imagine if you bought a ticket for this?...Unreal..
And incredible keys man.
Out of this world Performance
Rainbow 1977
World best drummer ever! Cozy Powell R.I.P.
Thomas Heusel From one Tom to another, yes I definitely rate Cozy right up there with the other all time great stickmen- Bonham, Moon, Peart, Baker, to name just a few! I was lucky to get to see them in Fla. in 76 right after the live album came out. one of the best shows I have ever been to and I've been to a lot of 'em. Keep rockin!
Back when Ritchie was exiting. The best Rainbow there was.
Great performance! Awesome Ronnie, Cozy, Ritchie, Bob, David... 💖🎶🎸🎹🥁
bands like this proves theres life on other planets
best hard rock song live rip roland james padovana and mr drums ever cozy powel /long live ritchie/ daisly and stone
+Rouibah Omar Padavona
Ronald.
Cozy Powell is\was a beast! And I LOVE his traditional left hand grip! Sure thee are guys more technical but Cozy's licks were tasty and satisfying!
Ronnie, you will be missed but never to be forgotten
I glad these guys got together n jammed even grouchy guitar player can’t remember his name oh Richie my memory is starting to leave ty for letting be share
RJD was and will.always be a real King his soulfulness and humbleness is the key which every singer or a star should learn look at the way he introduced his members and also the way he addressess the audience so down to earth God bless his magical voice and his amazing soul ❤
That's a fuckin masterpiece! From simple semi-acoustic folk ballad by Byrds, they made one of the first progressive metal epics.... long before Dream Theater
YARDBIRDS, NOT "The Byrds", that's a different band!
oh, I was sure it was Byrds. thanks
Maria Mani What's the problem? He's so fucking right.
It IS the fucking YARDBIRDS not the Byrds.
dont fucking care... and somebody already wrote about that. thanks for being so attentive
Epic!!!! Ronnie was a fantastic singer and Cozy a great drummer
They took a little 3 minute song from the Yardbirds and stretched it out almost 10 times the length. Not only did they accomplish this with flying colors and play it live for the world to hear but completely changed the sound of the song to fit their own style. There arent many bands that can pull off such a maneuver of this magnitude.
Best line up with David Stone and Bob Daisley in there. Powell too. How Ritchie let this version fall apart blows my mind. Dio could not be replaced although Graham Bonnett did a great job on down to earth. But after that phhhsssttt wasn’t much to speak of. Glad I was around back in 77 at 12 years old loving this shit. Thanks for sharing. 😎
Pure legend !! Long live rock n' Roll !!
I loved Rainbow when hardly anyone knew who they were in North America. Ritchie Blackmore was my hero, and when he left Deep Purple to take Dio and Elf into Rainbow, I was totally on board. They sound awesome even now decades later.
after all these years one of the best bands and best LP from the past, still i"m sad you past away....
The Best Band ever played Live on Stage
Rainbow 1977
A simply Bandname but awesome Bandmembers...........really really fantastic
Had to be one of the greatest live shows ever.
Still amazed at these guys, after all these years... BUT, still I'm sad !!! \\m//
Rainbow!, one of the best band of rock that could exist in the hole world
So glad this beautiful thing happened.
...THE BEST RAINBOW EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE...AND HEARD...
Well Well Well…
Growing Up with this music as Normal and falling in Love with Dua Lipa 2023 for Her Pop Music Performances in a Flat Glass Screen on UA-cam….

That’s The Question.😎🇫🇮
Very well done Guys and Thanks a Lot!👍🏻👍🏻👌👌👌🏆🏆🏆

I love this band !! RIP
RONNIE JAMES DIO
You can never be replaced !!
Astonishing. There are no words. R.I.P. Ronnie and Cozy.
Good lord what a beautiful voice....
this is a fucking masterpiece
Thanks to Jimmy Page from Yardbirds
what! me worry?
@@lucienmornigstar6197 Jeff Beck was the guitarrist on this song. Blackmore always admires him
This man's voice must have started in his toes. Still sad? Still the greatest, Ronnie.
That's because he was only three inches taller than his toes.
This line-up.... the greatest...
I love David Stone. A monster talent. He is living in Vancouver, Canada and we get to hear him on a regular basis. Still an amazing talent in 2020!
Whomever was amongst those that were in attendance were amongst god of rock. I envy you
Virtuoso....compared to todays Releases....Rising was a milestone and will ever be
The absolute greatest rock band ever!!!!!!!
The best drumm solo ever, & keyboards too lmL
Ronny, still i´m sad.... :(
WOW! what a drum solo that was bloody awsome
One of the best live performance all time!
i like analog .. MiniMoog .Hohner Clavinet .Hammond B 3 .Solina Strings ...Orchestron........so great.
Thanks David Stone
David Stone - the best keyboardist Rainbow ever had IMO
Actually it was Tony Carey.
@@henryczaplicki8359 Tony Carey
Tony Carey.
But kudos to David stone
Ich war dort. Und es war nicht gut. Dio war kaum zu hören. Trotzdem ein Kompliment. Eine der größten Band ever...
Beutiful ! Cozy & Ronnie R.I.P.
This is unbeliveable. The eternal perfomance.
Nobody else till present time.
Who know what about I said.😃
27 minutes of pure awesomeness made me love Rainbow even more
Awesome drum solo!! F>>YEAH!
