Of course Jeff Beck was a Legend, and rightfully so. But Vinnie Colaiuta's drumming is killer and deserves much greater name recognition when discussing greatest drummers of modern times.
@@PeterSokol-bl5vz Not sure who you're talking to, but if it's me, you can add a 6 after that number, cracker. And as I stated elsewhere, even Rolling Stone ranked him 49. Not that Rolling Stone is ever right, but it goes to show how they and others don't give Vinny just recognition. Hence, my post.
Jeff Beck and Vinnie Colaiuta - I am so glad that I saw them together! Just fantastic musicians! Vinnie Colaiutas capabilities and style are just from another planet!

All hail the master...so many other guitarists say he's the guy. Who could disagree? The sounds and textures created so seemingly effortlessly are otherworldly and always leave me stunned and amazed. The thing about Jeff is his music is so much more than technique. I feel like he's able to make us hear exactly what he's hearing - how many musicians can really do that?
In 2010 I was able to see Jeff Beck in concert and I still remember the impressive sound of his guitar, and of course his entire band. Unforgettable, and without a doubt one of the best Musicians in history. ❤
I remembered close to twenty years ago when my oldest son was just about out of high school and started playing guitar, he would talk about all of the guitarists he was listening to at the time. I took him to my album collection and took out albums by John McLaughlin and Jeff Beck. I let my son listen to Beck's Blow by Blow and Wired, and my son was blown away. Diamond Dust is still one of my favorite Beck jams to this day. Jeff Beck will forever be in the top ten of greatest guitar players out there.
Sad loss no one will sound like jeff again one off master of the whammy bar and volume control saw him many times been listening to jeff for year's and year's thanks jeff been great rip jeff you will be missed by a lot of people
I've spent the last 35 years chasing jam bands around the country and never really gave Jeff a real listen. All I can say is, Wow! A true virtuoso. He played so many different styles and all the songs have rhythm, but I'm sure some of that is due to the amazing drummer-he's a monster also. Man, sure wish I would have seen this cat live... Thanks for posting.
Always loved that he needed and had a solid, tight rhythm section. @ 62 and a fan for 40 some years, I have always been floored by the mechanic of guitar That he was.
My favourite guitarist since high school. Saw him live several times, and celebrated his extraordinary brilliance throughout my life. I was crushed when he died, but, unlike my other rock heroes, he doesn’t elicit sadness because he, and his endless puckish creative spirit is with me every day. It’s a strange reaction, perhaps, but that’s okay; I can see remarkable videos like this. Thanks. This made my day.
Love to hear that, tommy is every Day in my mind sinds he left, been a few times in the Newport hotel Miami Beach, room 902. A beautiful man and musicion. Greetings from The Netherlands .
Well, I'm always completely in awe of Jeff. But Jeez Louise, Vinnie is just so completely of fire here. "Stratus" is astounding. Bravo for all of 'em, and it's cool to see Jason Rebello here gracefully providing the keyboard textures.
This is the best Beck concert Ive ever seen. I do regret not ever going to one of his concerts. He looked so young, I didnt think he would die so soon. So glad a certain bassist is not present hogging camera time.
Tone for miles. Totally unique Listen to his first four albums with vocalists. The tone and attack are totally original and you can see his style develop with each album to be displayed on Wire and Blow by Blow
Love the man and his briljant way of playing, on december 04 1976 hé was backstage with his support act Tommy Bolin Who died the same night, also a hero
Wow! Beautiful concert - thanks for sharing! Lots of inspired and super creative improvisation here. They're clearly having a good day; notably sick-ass drumming and Jeff Beck playing at his peak. R.I.P. or, I'd like to believe that you went beyond and joined Allan Holdsworth playing on 🥲.
An absolute master of his instrument. He owns that guitar and tells it what to say. Out of this world music.

Vinnie is already considered the most important and versatil drummer of our times.

Jeff was a better guitar player at 70 than he was at 35....who else can do that?? The GOAT!
How could he be seventy when he was 62 years old at this concert??
@@michaels3003 Uhhh...because he was still playing guitar at 70???

One of the best guitar players of all times, just out of this world...Eternal Master !...
Jeff and Vinnie during Stratus ... they just take off and let it go ... brilliance
The best of the best instrumentals. The best of the best musicians. It’s such a treat watching Vinnie drum.
Jeff Beck is the G.O.A.T. RIP
How rude.

Jeff Beck lives forever in my heart.
Man on fire. Page said it, "when Jeff is on he's the best there is."

Thank you camera techs! Guitar players learned a lot because of the precise camera work!
Thank you!
Yes, lot of nice and long close ups! Pretty rare
The only guitarist who can play one note over two bars and thrill you. Always unpredictable - makes everyone else seem pedestrian.

The bassist isn't responsible for the camera work or editing! Also I think this band with her on bass was Beck's perfect team.
Good one
