If you want to avoid expensive shipping due to us living in Australia, here is a little work around on Amazon (can do the same on ebay using www.ebay.com.au) which some people have used and made it a lot more affordable. We just wanted to share this with those who this may concern.
1. Go to top right of Amazon homepage where it has your country flag and language showing
2. Click change country/region on dropdown menu
3. Change country to Australia
4. Amazon page will change all products to those in Australian warehouses. Put items in cart, send to S&P PO box address as you normally would. Should be minimal shipping because its shipping from within Australia

HE"S BACK! We are so hyped to see where the story goes from here. this movie was again more mature and darker which we LOVE

This is infamous for being the worst movie however it is still good even though the suspense is ruined early on
Guys your editor is an absolute genius and needs a raise as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely LOVED all the little jokes they put in, had a great time, thanks 😄
Hey guys Just saying im loving this Harry Potter journey we are on. Myself and my family watched the movies when they first hit the cinema it was our family thing to do and we read the books. Watching you guys react to it is like watching myself as a kid. The wounder, the possibilities the questions. Its amazing all over again
45:10 the magic is old magic- you should play the Hogwarts game for a play through series :)
As you probably already know, there was a series of seven books. There are eight movies, because they split the last book into two parts. However, starting with this book/movie, they could've split all these into two movies. They stories get more complicated and more stuff is left out of the movie. I would recommend reading the books, because there's a lot more detail in them that is completely missing from the movies. Especially in this movie.
I love how you included the "Dumbledore asked calmly" meme
God I can't tell you how much I hated the director for this movie because of things like that 😂the dude didn't even want to read the book that his film was based on. Dumbledore is perfect in the early movies, and in 5 + 6. But in this one? Idk who that was lmfao.
Yes. This was the worst director, although Yates it's up there too.
A personal theory of mine is that he was high on cocaine the whole production phase.
Not only his Dumbledore was acting OOC, but also Moody was doing those stupid tongue ticks and acting goofy. Also Barty Crouch Senior acting was cartoonish too, especially the scene when he is giving the speech about the Tournament rules. And Igor was another goofy cartoonish character.
I think this director is an imbecile. Didn't understood the assingment and shat the bed. He treated this adaptation as a childlish movie for babies or something.
He also broke a rib trying to teach the twins how to properly wrestle. I cannot come up with this. He said himself in an interview!
Tell me this guy wasn't sniffing coke every hour during production?
@@MFBloosh
@@MFBlooshyea I agree. This is my least favorite movie. They did a good job showing the graveyard scene but that’s it. The 4th book is my top 2 favorite books but the movie is just not good. They leave out so much important context and awesome stuff . I get they had to shorten it down for the movie but man. Just didn’t like this adaptation of the book. Only thing that keeps it good is that graveyard scene because they did do that well. And Cedric’s father sobbing over Cedric’s body. Great acting. That’s about it though
@@joeydrummer7929 Cedric's father at the end of the Goblet is in a totally different movie. His grief is palpable and haunting.
Dumbledore casting Crucio twice... just to make sure it lands, is my favourite part of that meme
Been hyped for this one. Cedrics dad crying always gets me in the feels ay
it's funny how cant participate if under 17 but kids can be forced to maybe drown in a lake as a challenge 😭 good old Hogwarts
The bit that gets me is Harry screaming no as they pull him away and trying to hold onto Cedric, full on trauma of a child seeing a friend murdered

That's my BBBOOOOYYYYY
The reason why Neville is so stressed seeing the Cruciatus curse is because his parents got tortured with it by one of Voldemorts lackeys, which caused them both to lose their minds and they can not be healed. It's sadly not mentioined in the movies as it's probably the most important part about this character
Its mentioned in the next movie which they’ve already watched. But yeah wish they would have mentioned it in this movie. Also in the movies they died, in the book they are still alive but have gone mad from the torture.
nvm they not dead but thats eluded to very very briefly in the movie. Im guessing the HBO tv show will have the time to get all the detail in.
@@LoopLife42 Thx for correcting. I don't remember that at all
I think they try to briefly mention it in Barty Jr’s trial, but it can be really hard for a first time viewer to catch
Bellatrix lestrange is the name
@@LoopLife42they didn't die in the movies, it's just never mentioned that they are alive. It's even alluded to in the next movie.
P.S. dormustrung and bouxbatons being only male/female is a movies thing. In the books all 3 schools have boys and girls
Yeah, this is by far the movie that takes too many liberties i disagreed with. But the book was also a bit messy and bloated.
Order of The Phoenix, while being my favorite of the films, also took out a big chunk of stuff i would've liked to see, primarily --
*spoilers below*
- primarily in the ministry of magic. And also the final movie/book with how Harry vs Voldemort was handled, i felt like it was much better in the book.
@@Celeborn93 Have you seen how the director talked about the books? He admitted he had to be forced to read it, and it got to the point where even the actors were calling him out. He wanted to completely change everything, pretty much lol. Not in the way Alfonso Cuaron did, either. Newell's direction brought us that famous Dumbledore Asked Calmly meme though, so I'll give him a pass 😂
@@MFBlooshbro peeves doesn’t even exist in the movies when he’s literally the cause of most of the plot in the books he’s as important as harry plot wise without him the plot made no sense
Don't forget the shit show that was HBP.
Nobody understood the real indentity HBP was a big deal. The Voldemort's memories where cut short by half or more in favor of more teeenage rom-com sillyness. We got robbed of Dumbledore visiting the Dursley at the beginning, fuck that was one hell of a scene in the books! In favor of more homornal teenager shit.
The Slughorn first encounter and Dumbledore & Harry at the Cave was one hell of scene, similar Dumbledore's demise. Well done.
OOTP this was also a shame. Especially getting rid of the true scope of the aftermath at Headmaster's office, where Harry explodes with rage, this was one of the best scenes of the books. Its so cathartic. And Dumbledore characterization is more humanized, he even sheds a tear! He says many things about the prophecy that was cut short in the films, so movie fans will forever misundertand the nature of the prophecy between the two wizards.
There are more scenes cut short but that one hurt a lot, not only that film but the whole movie franchise afterwards.
It also gave us the still annoying fans thinking Dumbledore was this evil mastermind plotting to sacrifice Harry without emotion. Such a stupid take but if you only watch the movies it's maybe a fair take, thanks to the also stupid fuck up in the last film with the Prince's Memories, "Always" and adding Snape in the fucking crime scene in Godric's Hollow dramatically holding Lily's corpse... jesus fuckin christ.
Dumbledore was done dirty in the movies, Ron too, Hermione was too OP, Harry had its ups and downs... And Voldemort's past was cut too short.
@@Celeborn93
@@xerxeszero586nah Peeves is annoying. Can’t imagine having to sit through a live action version of him.
Prior Incantatem let's you see a shadow of the previous spell cast. For Voldemort, he used the killing curse so it brought shadows of his last few victims back. The type of duel Harry and Voldemort has is unique because their wands share the same core from Fawkes the Phoenix. These are things in the book not explained in the movies very well.
to be fair there is A LOT of stuff that this movie does a poor job of explaining.
It's mentioned by the movie character Ollivander (who has the wand shop) in the first film that Harry's and Voldemort's wands share the same core, and may be aligned in some way. That's a screenplay line of dialogue detail that may be hard to remember three movies later.
Yep, the connections between what are essentially twin wands is what creates the magical link in their duel and is the reason Harry is not just completely overpowered.. there are probably some additional reasons to this too but I won't get into spoilers
I forgot that the Phoenix whose tail feathers resided in Harry's and Voldemort's wands were from Fawkes! I've admittedly only read the books through twice with about a 5-10 year gap in between. The last time being about 10 years ago. I can't wait to read them again but they're a larger time commitment than the movies which I've seen countless times!
They need to see this!!
Stuff from the book not in the movie:
Barty Crouch doesn't leave his son in Azkaban. His wife takes their son's place (they use polyjuice potion) and dies there. That's why nobody suspects him, everyone thinks he's dead. Barty Crouch puts his son under the imperious curse and makes his house elf keep an eye on him. At the quidditch world cup, Barty Crouch Jr. uses Harry's wand to create the dark mark in the sky.
The fake Mad-eye Moody actually performs the imperious curse on the students. Harry is the only one who breaks out of it.
At one point, Harry notices "Barty Crouch" (Jr, of course. But that isn't known until later in the book) in Snape's office by looking at the Marauders' map. He goes to investigate but it's worried that Snape might catch him. Mad-eye can see him through his invisibility cloak and helps him escape from Snape. He borrows the Marauders' map from Harry.
Dobby starts working in the Hogwarts kitchens for pay. Barty Crouch's house elf also goes there because he lets her go. Dobby helps him with the gillyweed, not Neville.
Hermione is disgusted by the slavery of house elves and forms a society for their welfare.
Harry and Voldemort's wands have the same core, that's why they can't kill each other. When such wands are forced to fight, they lead to an effect called "Priori Incantatem", or revealing previous spells cast by the wand. That's what happens to Voldemort's wand.
Harry gives the money won from the Triwizard tournament to Fred and George to help with their joke shop.
Everything here is on point.😊
Yes, that's how I remember it!
Yeh the movie sucks for excluding the mystery aspect behind Barty and also making it obvious that he was guilty of torturing the longbottoms. The whole tongue thing was lazy af too
Also small point the two other schools were also coed the movies mad a dumb choice making one all male and the other all female
There is also a subplot with the Weasley twins, and another character not mentioned in the movie.
Ludovic "Ludo" Bagman, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports at the Ministry of Magic, makes several bets on the outcome of the Quidditch World Cup, including one with Fred and George, who bet their entire life savings (over 37 Galleons) that Ireland would win, but Viktor Krum would catch the Golden Snitch. As fate would have it, that's exactly how the match played out. So Bagman paid the twins back, but he used leprechaun gold, which vanishes after a while. And he later got cornered by a gang of goblins who robbed him of all the money he had, which still wasn't enough to cover all the debts he accumulated betting on the match. The twins were not very happy with Bagman's skullduggery, so they spent half their time in book 4 trying to bully Bagman into paying them back in earnest, even going as far as blackmailing him. And as Bagman is Head of Games and Sports, he must spend a lot of time at Hogwarts during the tournament, and he spends half his time ducking the twins. Eventually he places a massive bet with the goblins on Harry to win the tournament which would get him more than enough to pay off all his debt. But because Harry and Cedric took the Cup together, the goblins considered that a draw and not a solid win. And so Bagman was forced to go into hiding, and we never hear from him again.
Fred and George spend the other half of their time in this year developing prototype products for their dream joke shop, which you will see more of in the coming films so stay tuned. And as was mentioned before, Harry gives his Triwizard winnings (1K Galleons) to the twins to give them an extra boost for the shop.
The part in the bookwhere Dumbledore enters the room and stunes Barty Jr. Showed how scary Dumbledore is "At that moment, Harry fully understood for the first time why people said Dumbledore was the only wizard Voldemort had ever feared. The look upon Dumbledore's face as he stared down at the unconscious form of Mad-Eye moody was more terrible than Harry could have ever imagined. There was no benign smile upon Dumbledore's face, no twinkle in the eyes behind the spectacles. There was cold fury in every line of the ancient face; a sense of power radiated from Dumbledore as though he were giving off burning heat"
Damn, they really did that moment dirty in the movie. Always thought Dumbledore sounded bored in that scene
@@SnailHatan the thing is when you read books Dumbledore is calm, collected, when he speaks he doesnt have to shout. And then you read this and it sends shivers, the demonstration what would happen if he was really angry.
The book explains much more about how Barty Crouch Jr got out. His mother who was dying, used polyjuice to look like him, and he used it to look like her and he just walked out. Barty crouch Sr was with him as well
Yeah, there is a MASSIVE amount of the whole story left out of the movie for this one. Majorly important information too. Poor Winky never gets her moment of fame in the movies.

This is Not a spoiler. In the book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", Dumbledore explained to Harry that Priori Incantatem is what happened when their two wands with matching wand core connected. If you recall from the very first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone or Philosopher's Stone when Harry got his wand Mr. Olivander said that the phoenix feather in Harry's wand had a matching feather in another wand that came from the same exact phoenix. The person that has the other feather in his wand is Voldemort.
Harry found out in the book version of Goblet of Fire that the phoenix was Dumbledore's bird, Fawks.
Because Harry and Voldemort has matching wand cores it means the wands are equal in power and relation. The wands really are brothers. As Harry's wand began to slowly beat Voldemort's wand it caused the Piori Incantatem spell to happen. That means the last few spells that a wand made reveals itself. So in this case not only did the last few murders that Voldemort's wand made expose itself to everyone in the graveyard, in the book version it also showed Wormtail's new silvery hand first as well.
🪄💥⚡️🪄
A piece that may be overlooked in this movie is that during the scene with Karkaroffs trial they mention that the cruciatus curse was used on mr. and mrs. longbottom by a wizard named Bellatrix Lestrange and another unknown wizard who Karkaroff reveals to be Barty Crouch Jr. It's a reason why Barty as Moody made a point to perform the curse in class right in front of Neville. Because he was one of the dark wizards that used it on Nevilles parents and caused them to go insane and have to be committed. Yeah the books, as well as the movies, get super dark from here going forward.
Hermione says "Everything's going to change now, isn't it" because Voldemort is back guys. Why were you unsure what she meant by that? Old mate has a new body and just murdered their classmate in cold blood, Voldemort's back in action and the entire world isn't safe.
But she had a smile on her face, that line could mean anything actually. Could also mean they are reaching adulthood, or at least young adults

When it comes to age, education at Hogwarts begins at the age of 11 and continues until the 7th grade, i.e. until the age of 17. Each film covers approximately a school year, so now Harry and Ron are in their 4th year, so they are 14 years old. The twins Fred and George are 2 years older than them, so they are now 16 years old and are only a year away, and Ron's sister Ginny is a year younger, so she is 13 years old. And generally, in wizarding law, a wizard who turns 17 is considered an adult because in Hogwarts also ends in this age.
In the U.S. public school system, this would be from the 6th grade -- generally either the last year of elementary school or the first year of middle school -- through senior year in high school.
The majority of Hogwarts students would be 18 when they complete their 7th year. Harry is an exception because his birthday is in July. Both Ron and Hermione had their 17th birthdays during 6th year.
@@dansharp2860 Exactly, because the cut off for students birthdays for the academic year is 31st August in the UK and I'm assuming elsewhere...?? 11-18 is the entirety of secondary school in the UK, aka high school, corresponding to Year 7--Year 13.

Yeah so fucking annoying. Like, yeah all boyd Durmstrang strong. And then the Beauxbaton girls are just making eyes at the others. So ridiculous
PRIORI INCANTATEM! Because both wands share a core, crossing beams is a bad idea, generates unexpected results, and when the beam reached Voldie's wand, it instigated a spell called Priori Incantatem, which is a spell that reveals the last spells that a wand has cast (Like a wand history browser). That's why the old man, Cedric, and Harry's Parents appeared, as they were the last kills by that wand.
In the book the first thing that appeared was a copy of the hand Voldemort made for Pettigrew.
Spartan does look like Krum😂😂😂
We know what Cosplay he will do…
Twins separated at birth!
In the courtroom scene, Dumbledore said that Snape had actually been a death eater, but that he had decided to be a spy for Dumbledore before Voldemort lost his powers..
In the books it tells you why the dark arts teacher never last more than one year. It’s because Voldemort put a curse on that class because he wanted that position when he came back to ask Dumbledore for a job. This is why you need to read the books because sometimes the movies assume that you have.
You don't find that out until the 6th book though.
wow thats interesting!
"I thought there were four schools" Hahaha, as did the Goblet (and that Harry is the only student from that school).
I know a lot of others have referenced the books but honestly, the graveyard scene is so well written.
It’s really, really menacing and superbly conveys the horror and power of Voldemort’s return.
This was not mentioned in the movies. The Riddle grave are the graves of Tom Riddle and his parents Tom & Mary Riddle (Voldemort's muggle father and grandparents). In fact, that old man in the beginning of the movie Frank Bryce was the caretaker of the Riddle manor. He was initially accused of murdering the Riddles, but was released when they couldn't find any concrete evidence against him. Their autopsies were inconclusive. The Riddles were clearly murdered by the killing curse. Frank told the police that on the day of the Riddles' deaths, he had seen a pale faced teenage boy approaching the manor. No one in village believed him and assumed that Frank had made this up. The truth is that when Voldemort was 16, using his middle name, Marvolo (his maternal grandfather's name), he tracked down his mother's relatives, who told him about his father abandoning his mother because she was a witch. He went to the manor and murdered his father and grandparents as revenge for abandoning him. The shear irony is that despite Voldemort's hatred of his relatives, he used Riddle manor as a hideout where they were discovered by Bryce. Moreover he had his rebirth at Little Hangleton cemetery where his muggle family is buried.
Regarding his looks - when he was younger he was a miniature version of his handsome and attractive father. He had initially held him in high esteem. However when he learnt the truth about him, he shed his birth name and after school transfigured his face to be snake like to highlight his relation to Salazar Slytherin who like him was a parcelmouth.
Dobby also made prominent appearances in this book but for some reason they completely cut him off in this movie 😢
Most likely cut for time/budgetary reasons.
one word: cgi. hmm or is that three words? uh, one word: money.
Reading "Kill the spare" the day this book was released was honestly so haunting, it was in my head for months and then when this movie came out, they made sure to keep it.
"Kill the Spare" is such a great way to show Voldemort's callousness and lack of humanity.
It just isn't nearly as haunting in the movie, because Cedric in a way *is* the spare here, having touched the trophy only because of Harry's kindness and thus brought along by Harry, who really, by merit *and* by Voldemort's plan, should have come alone. In the book, the "spare" label on Cedric strikes so much more unfairly since it's Cedric who is the true Triwizard Champion and Harry who wouldn't have been there if not for Cedric.
"Harry did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?" Dumbledore asked calmly😂😂
Someone had to do it…..
I often find myself wondering how Richard Harris would've delivered this line....

If you cast your mind back to the first movie. Olivander the wand maker said that both the wand that chose harry and the wand that gave him his scar both had the same magical core, a pheonix feather. That is why when the wands connected mid spell the Priory Incantatum that Dumbledore mentioned happened. Thats how he knew Harry had seen his parents that night. This knowledge will set a seqence of events in motion through the following movies.
Not just Phoenix feathers, but Phoenix feathers from the same Phoenix. They are twin cores
@@crazyape515 And not just the same Pheonix, Dumbledores Pheonix, Fawkes.
The books are so much richer than what they can put in the movies. If you really want to know about the world and learn more about the other schools or what Dobbey has been up to this whole time since he was freed or what happened to Neville and what really happened at the world cup, or how Barty Crouch jr really got out of Azkaban, all of it is in the books. The movies are good, but they mostly just introduce things when it has to be there to advance the main storyline. There are so many minor plotpoints and storylines that tie together. I don't know how much they consulted Rowling making the movies, but it seems like they didn't always. Many of the movies were made before the last books were written and that meant that some things that actually seem small mattered later, and it doesn't seem the movie always included them.
This is another reason why movies or series based on books should not be make until said books are finished because you don't know what is important in the beginning until you have made it to the end. It happened to Game of Thrones and now GRR Martin seems to have no inclination to finish them. One that did well recently based on books was The Last Kingdom which was based on The Saxon series of books by Bernard Cornwell but the books series was nearly finished when they started shooting and I believe they were in close contact with Cornwell throughout production.
jk rowling had an unparalleled amount of executive power. she had final say. this is not usual. hollywood and the like usually want the author to stay out so they can control it how they want. however, jk rowling did not need to accept any terms less than she wanted.
therefore, she retained final say on everything. the script would have to be approved by her. she could make notes and suggest changes until they delivered something that she was satisfied with.
💯
It may not be thaaat obvious watching for the first time, but when you rewatch it you see they rubbed in your face that it was "the son" impersonating Mad eye
They show basically in sequence the Dumbledore court room memory scene, then "Mad eye" little tongue tic in front of his dad, which is found dead right after, and then Snape confronting Harry about making polyjuice potion
Noooo the Yule Ball is edited out
Fans of the books have long made fun of Dumbledore's "DID YA PUT YAH NAME IN DA GOLBET OF FIYAH?" because it is clearly stated "Dumbledoe asked CALMLY". Just one example of how film Dumbledore is different from book Dumbledore AND how Michael Gambon's Dumbledore is different from Richard Harris' Dumbledore. Both great, just different.
As always there's are some things in the book that are not in the film. Most of it is not THAT important but one thing I love that is missing is a subplot involving Hermione forming S.P.E.W. (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare), a group/organisation to liberate Hogwarts' enslaved house-elves. Winky the house-elf who serves the Crouch family is an important character in the book, as is Dobby (he gives Harry the Gillyweed instead of Neville).
Remember in the first film when Ollivander says to Harry that the core of his wand was made from a feather of the same phoenix as Voldemort's (more specifically Dumbledore's phoenix aka Fawkes)? The Priori Incantatem, or Reverse Spell, effect occurs when such 'brother wands' connect in a duel. The winner's wand (Harry's) forces the loser's wand (Voldemort's) to produce "echoes" of their most recent spells performed in reverse order. So when Harry sees Cedric, the muggle from the beginning and his parents, that is the reverse order in which they were killed by Voldemort's wand.
The reason Barty Crouch Sr. looks at fake Mad Eye Moody like that is because he starts doing the weird thing with his tongue his son always does. Crouch Jr. did the same thing with his tongue when Harry saw the memory from the trial.
Fun fact: The tongue tick was not in the book and was improvised by David Tennant who plays Crouch Jr. Brendan Gleeson (Mad Eye Moody) then added the quirk to a few of his scenes as a hint to his real identity.
The thing with Ron is that he has always had this inferiority complex. He grew up in the shadow of his siblings (mainly his brothers) and, being Harry Potter's best friend, ends up in his shadow. In the first film, he sees himself in the Mirror of Erised as head boy and Quidditch captain covered in glory. He is envious of the chance to compete for riches and glory, and the idea that Harry may not have put his name in the Goblet of Fire doesn't even cross his mind because he is so blinded by envy. That's why he's such an ass in the first part of the film.
During the trial when Igor is exposing Barty’s son, he mentions that he was involved in the torture of the Longbottoms, who are indeed Neville’s parents (which explains why he is so upset when "Moody" demonstrates the Cruciatus curse in class - because it was used on his parents).
And yes, "Moody" was talking about Harry being the only one to ever survive the Killing Curse.
Also, during the trial, Dumbledore says that Snape was indeed a Death Eater at one point but is not anymore.
Voldemort’s appearance is a physical manifestation of how evil his soul has become. Plus, as the heir of Slytherin, where the symbol is a snake, he has snakelike nasal slits.
Victor Krum is under the Imperius Curse (one of the three unforgivable curses) in the maze. The victim basically has no control over their actions and is obedient to whomever casted the spell (in this case Barty Crouch Jr). They are placed in a trance-like state, hence why his eyes are like that.
In the book, Harry and Cedric are tied for first place, but with Cedric dead, Harry is declared the winner. He is rewarded with a large sum of money, but struck with immense guilt over Cedric's death he offers it to Cedric's parents, who politely decline. He gives the money to Fred and George instead who use it to open a joke shop.
Hermione's "Everything is going to change now isn't it?" simply means because Voldemort has truly and fully returned.
Lastly, Cedric's dad's cries are absolutely heartbreaking. That actor did a phenomenal job portraying a father who just lost his son.
The book did clearly state "Dumbledore asked calmly. What did the script say? And wasn't Jo a Script Advisor, or some such? Hopefully, someone here has seen a copy of the script ....
In the books bartty crouch Jr was under the imperius curse in his father house instead of Azkaban. That's why Noone was looking for him.
'That's my booyyyyy' this part always gets me! 😢 can you imagine finding out your son has just been killed. Great reaction team 👏🏽
I have a son myself and the mere thought of losing your child is just...too painful to even imagine 💔
HAUNTS ME
Dumbledore doing crucio after the goblet announced the names was hilarious 20:19
I laughed too much at that part
Damn why didn't you guys include any of the Yule Ball scenes in the edit? Those are always some of the best scenes to see people react too
Copyright
@@mugwumpss4647 huh strange. I’ve watched several other Hp reactions and never seen anyone else need to completely cut the entire scene
the reason neville longbottom was so bothered by the demonstration of the cruciatus curse is because his poor parents were tortured by bellatrix lestrange until they lost their minds and are permanently in st mungos hospital for wiches and wizards. its so dark to think his parents were tortured to the point of madness.
It's explained in the 5th movie, no need to spoil it now...
delete please, do not spoil it
It's okay. They already saw the 5th film as it's already on patreon.
Damn, just realized in the middle of the second task that we didn't see your reaction to the ball and Hermione with Krum lmao must have been the part that was giving you trouble with the copyright?
Just also wanna note during the duel Voldemort used two fingers holding the wand and harry was using both hands
The connection between their wands caused the essence of each person he killed to appear and they appeared in reverse order. Had the contction lasted longer, more people he killed would have shown up. This connection is caused by their wands having the same core.
They don't explain this in the movie, but Nevil's parents were tortured with the Cruciatus curse to the point of insanity by Death Eaters during Voldemorts first rise to power. That's why it bothers him so much to watch
Cant believe the whole Yule Ball was cut! Ron with Prof McG, Hermione's entrance, the argument 😢
And every single scene with the twins as well!
@@evatesche yeah, so much missed :(
That was certainly an odd choice and very disappointing...
It's sad how Harry not wanting to leave Cedric behind is what killed him... 😢💔
It's sad Harry wanting to keep worktable alive to tell the truth, and for Black's sake, killed Cedric
Am I only one who liked Crouch's Moody more than actual Moody?😂 He was creepy but kinda cool
They both acted the same...
@@GolladanThat's not the point. Did you think I didn't know that?
@@dhk5174 Then what's your point?
@@Golladan I don't know if it was because he had more screen time, but he had a more impressive aura than actual one in later movies
damn Dumbledore has some really good speeches in this movie *"Dumbledore asked calmly"*
You two have great intuition. Can’t wait to see this through for your reactions. Much love and respect from here in Texas
20:08 is where most of the people who have read and love the books have a huge aversion to this part. In the book it says something to the effect that "Dumbledore calmly asks Harry if he put his name in the goblet."
Now I know Spartan will love this one. 🤭 And I love to imagine the audiences perspective on the trials. They just sit there watching a bunch of rocks then just send there watching a lake, then just stand there watching a maze....pretty fun.
They never explain in the movies, but the reason all the souls appeared in the end including Harry's parenrs and Cedric was a magic phenomenon called Priori Incantatem. This is called a Reverse Spell, which forces a wand to show an "echo" of the last time the spell was performed. Since Voldemort had used his wand to kill Harry's parents and Cedric Diggory, they appeared as echoes from the wand while he was losing the duel against Harry.
The tent being bigger on the inside is the same as the TARDIS on DOCTOR WHO. And Bertie Crouch Jr. Also played THE DOCTOR.
You guys are very insightful and noticed quite a bit of hidden things. I love how observant the both of you are! Such a great reaction series to watch and enjoy! :)
that "pling" sound when Harry got back with Cederic after the Voldemort encounter made me laugh because the timing was so good xD
Roger Lloyd Pack and David Tennant, who played the elder and junior versions of Barty Crouch respectively, would later work together in two episodes of Doctor Who, with Tennant playing the Doctor and Pack playing John Lumic, the creator on an alternate Earth of the Cybermen.
The first time I saw this movie it took me ages to recognize Tennant. I knew he was familiar, but it took longer than I care to admit to realize he was the new Doctor, and had seen him at the end of the 9th Doctor's final episode.
Y'all really put the Notification Bell _'Ding!'_ right when Cedric's lifeless body landed on the ground in front of the crowd. 😂
If Cedric and Harry hadn't been such good sports about the Triwizard Cup, Cedric would be alive. Crouch Jr designed everything to ensure Harry made it, so I just don't think Cedric would ever have beaten Harry to it. Sharing the victory was the only outcome that led to Cedric's death.
"AVADA KEDAVRA!" Dumbledore said calmly 😂
The tragic thing is if Harry had been a bit selfish and took the cup for himself, Cedric would have lived 😢
And Voldemort would have …. I’ll Answer when they finish all the movies :) *NO SPOILERS*
@robertseward9527 Even without spoilers, if Voldemort hadn't killed Cedric in the graveyard, Cedric's spirit wouldn't have been there (with Harry's parents' spirits, etc.) to help in the wand battle. It's possible that, without Cedric's support, Harry wouldn't have been able to escape.
@@bigdream_dreambig read more of the lore :) if harry had died what would have happened
You'd think Harry would've noticed the red flag by then. First of all, he's been dreaming about the graveyard and wormtail. Next, was his name coming out of the goblet and then for some reason, nothing suspicious happened during the tournament. With the way something happened within the last 3 years, I would've sense something.
It's even more tragic in the book because the roles were reversed and it was Cedric who won the tournament fair and square (even despite Crouch Jr. manipulating events in Harry's favour) but went back to save Harry and then insisted they shared the victory. In the movie, one could argue that Cedric didn't fully deserve to take the trophy, and thus that his willingness to take undeserved credit caused his death -- an overly harsh punishment, obviously, but nevertheless the consequence of a moral failure. But in the book, he did fully deserve to take the trophy, he did absolutely nothing wrong except be a true champion and even went above and beyond in being a good person towards Harry, so not only was death a disproportionate punishment, it was a punishment given to someone who deserved absolutely no punishment whatsoever.
From an outside perspective, this is tragic for Cedric and for the world in general. But even for Harry, although he doesn't have guilt about letting Cedric take the trophy, because that was not his decision, this may be the more tragic of the two versions.
Harry is very empathetic, so the absurd unfairness and tragedy of Cedric's absolutely undeserved death weighs heavily on him even if he is not at fault, and at the same time, he does feel like it's his fault, simply because it was a plot aimed at him -- *his* battle -- that Cedric got caught in. Furthermore, because Harry hasn't really earned his share in the victory and rather considers Cedric the real winner, being named the sole winner despite his protests causes him to develop a strong sense of impostor syndrome on top of his survivor's guilt, which for years afterwards makes it emotionally difficult for him to accept credit or admiration, even when deserved, and it haunts him that Cedric was labeled "the spare" when Cedric was really the rightful main protagonist of the whole situation in Harry's eyes.
Your take on dumbledore asking Harry about his name in the cup is FREAKING HILARIOUS 😂😂😂😂
Was looking forward to the reaction of the ball 😢
When you're done with the main series, and since you are both interested in Snape, I think you guys would enjoy watching a very well made fan fiction short called "Snape and The Marauders". Broad Strokes created it. It's only 25 minutes but I believe is worth the watch
That edit of dumbledore had me laughing out loud, believe heroine meant just in general everything’s going to change now since Voldemort being back.
Imagine watching the lesson on the 3 unforgivable curses as a kid and on the killing curse Moody goes "No one has survived it, except one" then cut to Harry superhero camera angle. Or the graveyard battle you have Harry, who is essentially in high school, go up against the most feared dark wizard.. and win. It was definitely a crazy experience watching all these movies as a kid and even growing up as they came out.
I was so looking forward to the Yule Ball. A bit disappointed.😢
"MY BOOOY!" Will forever be iconic! Right along with "And they call It a mine... A MIIINE!" XD
The whole yule ball scene was left out, just like the whole hogsmeade scene from the previous episode :(
Great reaction guys! I'm so glad you guys are getting into it! Thank you.
priori incantatem, is a spell used to show the spells of a wand in reverse order (last to first). During the struggle with voldemort harry pushed the connection between their wands back into voldemorts wand forcing it into an artificial priori incantatem. Since the last spells are his kills of cedric, the old man and harrys parents those were the first to come out. If he had kept the connection there would have been more. thats all I remember about it.
I wish you would include the increasingly ominous WB intro. Growing up with these movies was fantastic and the feeling seeing it these days can't be put into words
For anyone confused, I think the whole lore behind the Goblet of Fire states that if chosen and you don't compete you revoke your magical abilities and your citizenship to the country
It is never mentioned what the consequences of refusal are.
Where is that written
@@bilalahmedsiddiqui9639 I remember it in a wiki a year or 2 ago not sure if it's the Harry Potter wiki
Harry could have just failed the first round 😅 but I guess because everything was pre determined for him by crouch jr, it wouldn’t have mattered.
where is that stated anywhere lol
so good to find some fellow Australians on UA-cam, doing reactions. keep up the great work guys
Glad you guys managed to get this one posted! Looking forward to watching it all now :D
Yall really skipped the ball??
You guys need to read the books after this, there are many things left in the films.
They really don’t. The movies are as close to faithful as you can pretty much get from book to movie adaptation. You get all the core storylines and themes in these movies.
@@MrPorko2c yeah but stiil many charecters have been potrayed in a light like dumbledore, snape and draco. Also they left voldemort's memories, marauders story and the world cup. Also where the hell is Charlie.
I love the movies they are perfect yet there are things not shown in the movie
The amount of stuff they cut from GoF is ridiculous
@@MrPorko2cthis is so untrue lol. I’m not saying the movies aren’t faithful to the books, but there are movies that are so much closer to their book counterparts that they are basically 1 to 1. Harry Potter is definitely not that.
You mean how Ron is a buffoon in the movies but pretty cool in the books? They gave many of his best line to Hermione in the movies.

same...now it's 5am
I absolutely love how comedic the editing was this in this video. Made me genuinely crack up multiple times😂 can’t wait to watch the rest of the movies with you two!
Priori Incantatum literally means "Formally Enchanted". It's a spell that makes a wand show previously cast spells, a sort of magical browser history.
When Crouch Sr. saw Moody flick his tongue, he knew who it was as it's what his son does. He knows his son isn't in Azkaban because he was one of the ones who helped him get out.
You don't have to stretch the translation that far. Prior incantation is english. Just like Ascendio and many others.
@@MrZeuz666 it's not a stretch when the words are actually Latin.
@@wrorchestra1 Yes. But I just meant for people to understand it. If you add an i to an English word and that makes people not recognize the word, there’s something to be said about “your” education. Hahaha

The Triwizard tasks:
- steal from a dragon. Which was chained, sure. But can fly and did fly away.
- recover a kidnapped person from the merfolk. Underwater. Murky dark water at that.
- get a trophy from a huge hedge maze.
None of these are spectator events 😅😅😅
I’m so hyped for the next film!! You’re gonna love it 🎉
Harry's wand and Voldamort s wand are related. Using those wands, they can only wound each other.
No, they can't hurt each other.
@@Isulfr"we can wound, but not fatally harm one another". Voldemort's words.
OMG, thank you for working that clip in of Dumbledore going ballistic on harry about putting his name in the cup. Too funny!
It’s not exactly explained in the movie but this isn’t a spoiler because it was said in the first movie when Harry bought his wand. Harry and Voldemort’s wands have the same core- a feather from the same phoenix (funnily enough, it was from Fawkes, Dumbledore’s phoenix).
This makes it incredibly difficult for them to fight each other because the wands recognize each other as if they were twins. A reaction called “priori incantatem” can be forced on one of the wands, which will make it regurgitate shadows of the last spells it performed.
Since Voldemort lost his powers and hasn’t had his wand for a while, we see the shadows of the murders of Harry’s parents (from 13 years ago) as well as the fresher murders of the muggle caretaker and Cedric Diggory.
Pudgey: "I don't know why you think Harry.... 🙄"
Also Pudgey: _"I knew it!!"_ 😂
The amount of "book readers" dropping absolute gems in the form of incorrect information is hilarious 😂
You should “uhm ackshually” them
it so annoying!! omg. also just because something was in a certain book, doesnt mean they should 'drop' that info if its going to come up in later movies, thats spoiling
Care to give an example?
Perhaps the misinformation is to obscure the spoilers that were dropped. That way only those that read the books know which ones are true.
What misfornation? I haven't seen any yet
In the book there was a lot more backstory on Barty Crouch and his son, Jr. He was a death eater involved with the torture of Neville’s parents and actually faked his own death in prison by switching places with his dying mother. Then his father controlled him under the imperious curse until he broke free at the quidditch World Cup and switched places with Mad-eye Moody shortly before school started. Harry never saw him in the dream
Can’t believe the entire Yule Ball didn’t make the cut!
Fun fact: Harry’s the only one who can resist the imperious curse in the books. & lol to the infamous dumebledore said calmly scene lol
not in the fourth book, though. Voldermorts "now bow" is the imperious curse and Harry cannot resist that and bows.
I'm sure a lot of other wizards can, we just don't see it happening.
I get that you guys gotta save some stuff for Patreon but you could've shown at least SOMETHING from the Yule Ball. You completely skipped over it. 😥
