In the books Hermione was by Harrys side from the moment his name came out of the cup. He didnt want to go down to the great hall for breakfast the next morning so she brought toast up to the common room and went for a walk with him. She was a real one.
No, when they were watching it, they didn't shorten it. They just did it when they were editing it and then they uploaded it on youtube, right? Because of the copyright, they have to do it.
There is actually a reason Neville was so uncomfortable with the curse being cast, the movies mention it eventually I’m commenting this because not a lot of people make the connection when it actually is mentioned.
@@Uni_op when Karkaroff is giving them Barty's name in the court scene memory, he mentions what he did to his parents. Almost all reactors somehow miss this one though, but they also reiterate it in the next movie. A lot of people think they were killed, but torture is the only thing mentioned regarding Neville's parents. If you've read the books you'll know there's an entire chapter of them travelling to see Neville's parents at the wizarding hospital. It's a sad chapter because they barely remember their own son, but kinda funny too because they bump into Lockhart, in what would be the wizard version of a "psych ward". The guy never regained his memory after the second movie.
14 is always awkward as hell for boys with girls, and girls are usually a couple years more mature than boys at that point. I think it’s perfectly understandable that Harry and Ron would act the way they did. Also props to Neville for just asking Ron’s sister out like a boss. He definitely had the most confidence of anyone.
Amos screaming "that's my son!" and his weeping is such a gut punch. It's hard to think of a better example of what losing someone you love feels like. Chills every time. Props to his actor for making me cry without fail.
It's sad because Ron gets done dirty in the films. In the books he's a likeable character who gets way more development. A lot of the cool things he does in the books get given to Hermione in the films or removed completely. One that comes to mind is in the third one when Snape calls Hermione an 'insufferable know-it-all'. In the film, Ron says 'he's got a point, you know' but in the book he actually stands up for Hermione, earning himself a detention for talking back to Snape. Both him and Ginny are two of the best characters in the series but the films completely ruined them for me
@@itsORcinneo everyone knows how Harry questions in CoS whether he should have been in Slytherin and obviously Herminone would have made a good Ravenclaw; but movie-Ron is kinda made into a pseudo-incompetent-Hufflepuff where book-Ron is Gryfffindor through and through; at first it seems like Neville would have made the set complete but it is actually book-Ginny who embodies the Hufflepuff values hard work, patience, justice, and loyalty...
Ron's jealousy over Harry in this movie is more understanding once you have the full picture of it. After all, Ron has five older brothers, all of them made their mark on Hogwarts: Bill (the oldest) was the best and most popular out of the Weasley brothers and was both Prefect and Head Boy; Charlie (the second oldest) was a talented seeker and Quidditch captain to the Gryffindor team and a Prefect; Percy was the least popular but he had the highest grades of his year and was both Prefect and Head Boy and, despite the twins are not academically inclined they are very popular because of their pranks and their talent as beaters. Even Ginny, who is younger than Ron, shows more talent and is more popular than him. Not only Ron has to live under the shadow of his siblings, but he also has to live with the fact he is best friends with the famous Harry Potter. So obviously, after he sees Harry's name getting out of the goblet and become a Champion, his jealously caused him to blindly not believe in Harry.
Understandable to an extent but not justifiable in my opinion. Especially how he treated Hermione this movie, that was messed up. Thing is they didn't develop his character very well in the movies; he's Harry's best friend and a lot more socially adept and emotionally understanding of him in the books- Hermione's extremely smart and also emotionally supportive but was still pretty socially disconnected. In the movies they gave all of Ron's characteristics to Hermione and made him look like an idiot who's just... there, lol
@@lukastace3154 Yeah, the movies weren't able to fully show all Ron's potencial. I say that only the last ones were able to do that. What is a shame, because Ron's simpler way of thinking allowed him to balance the dynamic of the group quite well. Another thing great about Ron is really the fact that he worked through his insecurities of having accomplished older brothers and famous/talented best friends.
IMPORTANT removals from the movie: Cedric used a Transfiguration spell to change a rock into a dog to distract the dragon. He was partially successful; the dragon took the bait, and Cedric went for the Golden egg. Halfway through, the dragon turned its attention back to Cedric, and burned his face. Cedric retrieved the egg, however, and passed the task. Second was Fleur Delacour, who faced a Common Welsh Green. She enchanted the dragon to sleep, but while retrieving the golden egg, the dragon snored and let out a jet of flame that set her skirt alight. She extinguished the flames, and retrieved her egg. Viktor Krum was third, facing a Chinese Fireball. He used the Conjunctivitis Curse to blind the dragon and retrieve his egg. However, he was docked points when the dragon stumbled around and smashed half of the real eggs. Harry Potter drew the fiercest of them all, the Hungarian Horntail. On the advice of Crouch Jr. (disguised as Professor Moody), he used a Summoning Charm to bring his Firebolt broomstick to him, and manoeuvred past the dragon to retrieve his egg. After the First Task, Harry and Viktor were tied for first place, with Cedric in second, and Fleur in third. The champions were told that, the Golden egg they retrieved contained a clue on how to pass the Second Task. Without it, they had little chance of succeeding. I hope you watch the extended edition for the final films ahead. (Especially the last one part one and two which has some stuff that puts some things into full circle.)
Thank you so much for sticking up for Ron!!! You're the only reactor that has understood how he feels. Harry is always in the spotlight, regardless of wanting to be or not, he is popular and has a lot of expectations to succeed. Ron comes from a big family, all his siblings being talented and appreciated. However, he always feels left out, like he doesn't matter. Hermione being the smartest has something going for her too. Ron never feels like he's worth anything. He always feels like he has to compete just to get attention, even from his parents. His mom never rembering his favorite food or things he likes, and his dad always working at the Ministry. He's also 14, so puberty is making his hormones go crazy. He knows deep down Harry didn't do it, but he feels betrayed because this is just another moment for Harry to shine while he's invisible. I really relate to Ron so much in this movie, so I get sad when people throw him under the bus for just being a normal teenager with mood swings. Thank you for understanding ❤
Its kind of strange to show it in the movie in this way as well. Bcoz in the book ron didnt know about the dragons before hand. He came to know it on the day of competition itself when he saw harry facing them. This improvisation is weird.
"Priori Incantatem" is where the two magician's wands are related, i.e. the same wand core. This phenomenon will bring up the wand that loses must cast the previous spell. in this film Voldemort's wand loses to Harry's wand, so Voldemort's wand must cast the previous spell (mostly Avada Kedavr) that's why a spirit appears that was killed by Voldemort wand
@@toodlescae sorry you meant "Prior Incantato" and it is very different from "Priori Incantatem" Prior Incantato : A spell to see shadows of spirits and previous incantations (this can be used by wands that have nothing to do with each other) Priori Incantatem : Is a term and not a spell, where this wand will create a protective dome between 2 wizards who are dueling, this will force the wand that lost to cast the previous spell.
@@KhrlIRD45 You're right. I got the movie confused with the further explanation and different spelling in the book. I had to go back and refresh my memory. It's been a few months since I last read them.
I love the 4th book for all the hilarious little sideplots they obviously couldn’t fit into the movies. A highlight is when Mr. Weasley, Ron, Fred, and George come to get Harry at the Dursley’s and try to go through their electric fireplace. Fucking iconic. “Loud bangings and scrapings were coming from behind the Dursleys' boarded-up fireplace, which had a fake coal fire plugged in front of it. 'What is it?' gasped Aunt Petunia, who had backed into the wall and was staring, terrified, toward the fire. 'What is it, Vernon?' But they were left in doubt barely a second longer. Voices could be heard from inside the blocked fireplace. 'Ouch! Fred, no - go back, go back, there's been some kind of mistake - tell George not to - OUCH! George, no, there's no room, go back quickly and tell Ron-' 'Maybe Harry can hear us, Dad - maybe he'll be able to let us out-' There was a loud hammering of fists on the boards behind the electric fire. 'Harry? Harry, can you hear us?' The Dursleys rounded on Harry like a pair of angry wolverines. 'What is this?' growled Uncle Vernon. 'What's going on?' 'They - they've tried to get here by Floo powder,' said Harry, fighting a mad desire to laugh. 'They can travel by fire - only you've blocked the fireplace - hang on -' He approached the fireplace and called through the boards. 'Mr Weasley? Can you hear me?' The hammering stopped. Somebody inside the chimney piece said, 'Shh!' 'Mr Weasley, it's Harry ... the fireplace has been blocked up. You won't be able to get through there.' 'Damn!' said Mr Weasley's voice. 'What on earth did they want to block up the fireplace for?' 'They've got an electric fire,' Harry explained. 'Really?' said Mr Weasley's voice excitedly. "Ecklectic, you say? With a plug? Gracious, I must see that.... Let's think ... ouch, Ron!' Ron's voice now joined the others'. 'What are we doing here? Has something gone wrong?' 'Oh no, Ron,' came Fred's voice, very sarcastically. 'No, this is exactly where we wanted to end up.'” -Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 4: Back to the Burrow.
I'm going through a tough time right now and you guys can't even imagine how this update brightened up my day. This one is my favourite harry potter movie.
@@iconpepelepew7925 you think?? Idk goblet is like my 3rd favorite movie. Chamber of secrets was my least favorite 😂 it wasn’t bad but I just didn’t find it so interesting
@@iconpepelepew7925 someone: “thank you for making my day better with this reaction this is my favorite hp movie☺️” you: “ummm actually this movie sucks ass!”
HIs mother's blood protects Harry which explains why he must go back to the Dursleys each summer. His aunt Petunia carries his mother's blood. It's explained in more detail in the book. Also explained is the Priori Incantatem (sp?) spell that causes spirits of the people Voldemort has killed to come back to help Harry.
The reason why Neville Longbottom was so upset about the torture curse is because it was used on his parents when he was just a baby, and his parents has been in the mental hospital for wizards every since.
In the book they give a detail that was omitted in the movie the fact that all the kids that put under water was not gonna be harm. Even if the champions didn't make it. So Fleur little sister is actually won't be harm and the mermaid is actually in on it as an observer. They just pretend to be threatening.
2:10 this place is a muggle grave yard. Specifically the place where Voldemorts father was laid to rest. That house is Voldemorts fathers old house. That man is the caretaker of the property. He saw a light in one of the abandoned buildings and went to investigate thinking it was kids being exploring somewhere they should not. He was also an ex military soldier which is why he was not that scared to explore.
Hate to be that person, but incorrect. The graveyard is nearby, but this is the grounds and house that used to belong to Voldemort's paternal family. The old muggle man was the groundskeeper of the property. Also, he was ex-army iirc, so that's why he wasn't scared (that and, like you said, he though it was kids messing around).
Fun fact: tom riddle cursed the position for the dark arts teacher because dumbledore refused to give him the job. Thats why the teacher keeps changing each year
@@max_thx "The aftermath of our little meeting proved that. You see, we have never been able to keep a defense against the dark arts teacher for longer than a year since i refused the post to lord voldemort" Ch 20 half blood prince
That's not revealed until the sixth book. This is a spoiler for the reactors if they're reading this. Although to be honest I can't remember if that point is even brought up in the movie so it might be moot anyway. Half-Blood Prince, like this movie, had way too much cut from the story. They needed more [spoiler] and less [another spoiler] but they just couldn't help themselves from giving that much less important thing more screen time.
To be brief: the Cruciatus Curse traumatized Neville so much cuz Death Eaters used the same curse to torture his parents to the point of insanity, and Mad Eye Moody (Barty Crouch Jr) knew that.
Barry crouch Jr didn't just know about the torture of Neville's parents, he was one of the death eaters who took part in it, (along with Bellatrix lestrange, her husband Rodolpus and his brother Rabastan) all 4 were convicted and sent to Azkaban for it.
All the spoilers and trivia of things omitted from books aside, in case you guys are reading this, there is one thing that neither of you seemed to connect that was fully in the movie, though a little subtle and overshadowed by the revelation of Snape's past. The whole reason Barty Jr was sentenced to Azkaban in the first place, was that he captured and repeatedly used the forbidden Curse of Torture on Frank Longbottom and his wife (Neville's parents). That is why Neville knew about the curse in the class to begin with and that is why he was extremely disturbed by the demonstration. It's also quite ironic that the same person who tortured Neville's parents, was also the one to be teaching their son about it in class.
4:28 Funny how most males recognize him as Batman and most females are like "nah that's Edward Cullen right there 😌" 😂😂😂 From Twilight in case you're not aware 😁
Full song is a little darker: Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground,& while you're searching ponder this; We've taken what you'll sorely miss, An hour long you'll have to look, And to recover what we took, But past an hour, the prospect's black, Too late, it's gone, it won't come back. Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground, An hour long you'll have to look, To recover what we took. An hour long you have to look To recover what we took Your time's half gone so tarry not Lest what you seek stays here to rot.
You know, because Harry's entrance in the tournament was unplanned, they didn't have a fourth dragon, so they had to improvise and got the Common Welsh Green which, in comparison to the other dragons, is quite docile (despite still being very dangerous). That being said, Fleur had quite the advantage over the other three, as she faced the least dangerous dragon, while Harry faced the most dangerous.
@@resathe6760 No, it's not in the books. I think it was confirmed somewhere else. But it does make sense. After all, the Ministry planned the revival of the tournament with all the details to ensure its success and the safety of the champions. They had already picked up the three dragons that would be used before the Champions were chosen. When Harry was picked as a champion, they would need a fourth dragon. Since the Common Welsh Green is native to the GB (the only one of the four to be so) and because of its more docile nature, that breed was the easiest one to acquire and prepare for the task.
I haven't seen anyone else mention it so I want to let you know that part of the reason Ron asked Flure out so randomly is because she's part Vela which is a magical creature that enchants men it's stated in the books that many of the boys have crushes on her because of it she was also really nice when she turned him down
Really underrated film this one; this is a very hard book to adapt considering how long and detail orientated things really are. Also: Neel still being a typical Hufflepuff always makes me smile~ (Faxx as a total Slytherin makes it even better XD)
I wouldn't call it underrated. It may have been hard to adapt that book. But this movie almost completely failed at it. The movie missed several bits of crutial information that almost breaks the story and several characters especially Dumbledore act completely out of character for the entire movie 😅
I have read this book countless times, seen it even more. Cedric’s father and his grief makes me cry every single time. Best few seconds of acting in the entire movie.
In the books they explain that the position for professor of defense against the dark arts is cursed, voldemort did it, when dumbledore denied him the position (twice, if i remember correctly). That is why teachers do not last more than a year.
Fun fact about the 3 unforgivable curses that makes it even more messed up. They don’t work unless the caster really means it. That means for the cruciatus curse to work, you have to really WANT to harm them. For Avada Kadavra to kill someone, you have to WANT them dead.
Exactly. Others were fascinated when I shared the same information under certain reaction videos ! Moody got the students to launch the killing curse at hun and told them they have to mean it and was confident that even the naughty ones wouldn’t have the truer malice in them to do such a thing. And it as he said: would only tickle and sting him at best!!!
@@Makkaru112 "Every single one of you could cast the killing curse at me at the same time and I wouldn't so much as get a nose bleed." I can't remember if this was an actual quote from the book, or if I just heard it somewhere, but it certainly is an enlightening one.
Ron’s anger isnt as explained as it is in the book. Throughout the books you get a look into Ron’s mind and you can see that year after year there is a bit of jealousy towards Harry for being famous and rich whereas Ron is the youngest male sibling in a poor family where his older brothers are all exceptional in their own way. Its a slow build up of emotions even delved a bit into at the beginning of The Goblet of Fire book as well. Then when Harry gets his name picked, it was too much and it all finally comes out. Not to mention Harry in the books is more of a sarcastic dick than he is in the films where they make him sorta a blank hero type. So you can imagine why the arguments and such would escalate more and more. There’s even the moment in the books where Harry is meeting with Sirius in the fire and when Ron goes to check up on him its HARRY who starts being a dick first which causes Ron to rebuttal. Harry then throws a pin at his head saying something like “maybe you’ll get a scar and be famous now”. Harry doesn’t help the situation in the books either and the movies don’t really adapt Harry’s sarcastic attitude that he has in every book. PLUS it makes it worse that the book’s elaborate more on Rita Skeeter and how she would make entire articles all about him while putting in fake dialogue from Harry making it seem like he was trying to make everyone feel bad for him and all that So the feud continued until the First Task where Ron finally saw that clearly Harry wouldn’t have wanted to do this and realized the press was lying about the shit he said.
It is also shown as a nuance in the first film/book. when Ron looks into Erised, he sees himself as Head Boy, as well as Quiddich Captain. Going above and beyond and excelling at all things his brothers excelled at. I think thats a very interesting touch to his character.
19:04 on the books explain that the job of teacher of defense against dark arts it's cursed by Voldemort because Dumbledore rejected him for this job, so the curse anyone who teach defense against dark arts in Hogwarts will not stay more than a year...
1. I like how you've picked up how the title screens have gotten darker with each movie. 2. It's a petty joke, but I'm glad someone recognized Robert Pattinson from something other than "Twilight" lol 3. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are both co-ed schools, and in the book both schools brought both male and female representatives. I guess the directors just wanted a sense of sublime femininity vs. brutal masculinity, the obvious polar opposites haha 4. In the book the foreign students don't arrive until just before Halloween, and Malfoy gets the "ferret punishment" on the very first day of school. 5. In the second task, the four hostages were never in any real danger. They were summoned to Dumbledore's office and explained to as to what was about to happen; they were put into an enchanted waterproof sleep and were assured they would be perfectly fine and would come around as soon as they resurfaced. 6. I'm sure many will say it, but the maze in the movie is incrediblt tame compared with the book. There are many more enchantments, and magical creatures too. 7. Many will also say this too, but there's an entire subplot left out of this movie which turns out to be crucially relevant to the main plot, involving house-elves. 8. After Barty Crouch Jr. reveals everything that unfolded after he escaped Azkaban to Dumbledore, Minister Fudge summoned a dementor to the castle, which took it upon itself to perform the Dementor's Kiss on Crouch, leaving him permanently catatonic and unable to share the information with Fudge. And without Crouch's testimony, there is no evidence to convince Fudge that Voldemort is back; he believes Dumbledore to be completely crazy and the two part ways. I highly suggest you read (or listen to) the books after you've finished with the movies, because you will learn many things that simply don't get explained in the films, and quite a few of them are very crucial to the main storyline. Great reaction guys! Looking forward to the next one!
Fricken perfect. Loved this. This is exactly the other stuff I was trying to remember so I could tell other realtor channels the same thing. Perfectly worded ❤❤❤
Just a random fun fact - the 'spider' that 'Moody' used for the demonstration of the curses is an actual, living creature - Tailless Whip Scorpion. The second fun fact about it - it is *absolutely* harmless to humans. Seriously. Its biggest claim to fame is being scary as shit, but not presenting any danger whatsoever, similar to a camel spider.
Barty Crouch, Jr. disguised as Moody used the Confundus Charm on the Goblet to make it forget that only 3 schools were competing. He then put Harry's name in as the sole competitor for a 4th school. No the dragon getting loose and chasing Harry all over the school isn't meant to happen. It didn't happen in the book. It's just gratuitous movie action. Also in the book Ron, white as a sheet, was waiting when Harry returned to the tent with his egg. He told Harry he'd have to be mad to put his own name in the Goblet there. Hogwarts had security. They just really didn't show it in the movies. It just wasn't meant to keep people out that they were expecting or an animagus that no one knew existed. No security is infallible.
And the graveyard scene was long in the book. Voldemort divulged a LOT of information there in the book about his years in exile. He also touched a tiny little bit on his family past. The duel was more intense. Voldemort crucio-ed the crap out of Harry. He tried to use the imperious curse on Harry but Harry resisted it. Oh yeah in the book "Moody" put all the kids in his class under the imperious curse one by one so they could see what it felt like for themselves and be able to identify it. Harry almost fought it off himself on the first attempt. Death eaters who were roaring with laughter had gone silent when they saw him resist the imperious curse. Voldemort was shocked af. It was a big deal.
Fun fact there is also a giant squid (kraken) in the black lake if you're in Slytherin common room you can see it sometimes swimming past the windows. It's also very friendly to the all the students in Hogwarts.
Robert Pattinson is Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves "the batman" which came out in like 2020-ish. So there's Adam West,Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and now Robert Pattinson who are/were all Batman.
In the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore explained to Harry that Priori Incantatem is when two wands with matching wand core connect. If you recall from the very first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone or Philosopher's Stone when Harry got his wand Mr. Olivander said that the phoenix feather in Harry's wand had a matching feather in another wand that came from the same exact phoenix. The person that has the other feather in his wand is Voldemort. Harry found out in the book version of Goblet of Fire that the phoenix was Dumbledore's bird, Fawks. Because Harry and Voldemort has matching wand cores it means the wands are equal in power and relation. The wands really are brothers. As Harry's wand began to slowly beat Voldemort's wand it caused Piori Incantatem to happen. That means the last few spells that Voldemort's wand made began to reveal itself. So not only did the last few murders that Voldemort's wand made expose itself it also showed in the book version Wormtail's new silvery hand first. 🪄💥⚡️🪄
Ur reaction brings back memories of my school days. Living in remote India, my Catholic boarding school wasn't exactly a fan of books on "witchcraft". I borrowed the book from a day boarder, who would bring it every day for me to read, but wouldn't let me keep it. So, Was reading it in physics class, kept it on my lap, hiding it in the folds of my skirt. I laughed out loud at the parts leading up to the Ball, Ron's proposal to Fleur,........... was made to stand dropping the huge book on my feet, limped my way out to the principal's office, all the while laughing... 😂 What happened next is a whole different story Ron's my favourite character, and the books are so much funnier and detailed, and Fleur's side story is the most heartwarming one.
Fun Fact: Shirley Henderson was 36 when she portrayed Moaning Myrtle in 'Chambers of Secrets' and 38 in this film. She really does sound like that. She has also provided the voice of the droid-smith Babu Frick in 'The Mandalorian' (Bad baby!)
That UA-cam Poops guy really made a great well edited series called Dumbledore’s revenge. I forgot the first ones name but the series is really good. A barrel of laughs. Especially when the steam comes out of Dumbledore’s ears as his face gets redder with anger lol.
😂 I'm so sorry. But! 🤣 I could not stop laughing when you first saw Robert Pattison (Cederick Diggory) and the first thing you said was "It's Batman!" When most of us said "It's Edward!" 😂🤣 You guys just made my day! 🤣
It was a no win situation. Harry stopped Wormtail being killed so that Sirius could have proof of his innocence. It wasn't going to be enough to present the Ministry with the fresh dead body of Peter Pettigrew. They were going to have to have the forced confession of Wormtail to be presented to the authorities. Plus even if Wormtail hadn't been the one to bring Voldemort back it would have been Barty Crouch Junior. Trawlany's proficiency would have still fit with him. He too was a servant that returned to the Dark Lord. 🤔🪄💀🐍
Sorry to give you the bad news. It's not your fault you didn't know this but the producers and directors of this movie left out some important information from the book. One of them is the fact that Harry is STILL living with his aunt and uncle. Harry was only visiting the Weasley home because the Weasley family asked permission from the Dursleys to take him for a few days so that Harry can attend the Quidditch World Cup with them. This is the movie where they start to leave massive key pieces of information that were in the books out of the movies. For example, Harry finds out that Dobby is now working at Hogwarts as a free elf and gets paid for it. Dobby is the one that gives Harry the Gillyweed and not Neville. Percy Weasley (one of Ron's older brothers that was a prefect at Hogwarts in the first three books and movies) has graduated and now works at the Ministry of Magic. At this point he was Barty Crouch Senior's personal assistant. There was another house elf in the story called Winky. She use to belong to the Crouch family until she was fired and freed. She went to Hogwarts to work there but was severely depressed about her new found freedom. Hermione did not react well to finding out that Hogwarts has a massive staff full of house elves and tries to no avail to free them all. She fails because none of them wants to be freed. Many of the Hogwarts house elves work in the kitchen located directly under the Great Hall and its them that have been cooking the meals for the school. The food is only magically summoned unto the tables in the Great Hall. But one of the biggest things that were left out from the books that many fans (including myself) that wished they could have included in the movie is the Quidditch World Cup match. In the book it was highly detailed and exciting. That was just a Few of the Many things that were left out that I had mentioned. There are still far more interesting details like back stories reveals of main characters and how the last Tri Wizard Tournament maze task was different. Hopefully now that they are officially rebooting the series for HBO Max they will now add many of the details. Especially being that the book author is one of the executive producers. 🏰🧙🏻♀️🪄⚡️📚
Are you sure that a lot of these details you described are such major plot holes that was really missing in the movie? I grew up with the movies and then reading the books. It felt more like an enhancement and I never really felt that there are such major plot holes in the first movies up until half-blood prince-ish/ootp where some context is missing to understand the drastic change in the movies. These are, if I were to harshly describe them: Side-Quest Information additions. Addendum. Extra Fanservice content for more detailed in-depth storytelling. They didn't bring the A-Plot nor the B-Plot in this movie forward in any way. And since even those two plots were already cut down on an already long movie you'd understand. A-Plot being the Tri-Wizard Cup which is the main theme of THIS movie and B-Plot being the Resurrection of Voldemort/Rise of Death Eaters.
@@DarthKiller456123 I know there was absolutely no way the directors, script writers and producers could have put everything that was in the books in any theatrical film they could have done. Especially when it comes to the Goblet of Fire book because it was just far too long. I never expected it to be a complete story retelling when I saw it in theaters back in the day. The movie would have lasted far far longer than any stage play and would have cost far too much to make. But when people who have never read the books are left confused and asking more questions about things most of us who read the novels knew then it kind of does a little disservice to the story telling. Most of what I mentioned I agree was not detrimental to understanding what was going on. That is why I mentioned them in the first place in order not to give too big of a spoiler for future Harry Potter movies. I even debated mentioning Hagrid's back story reveal because of what is to come in the next film. But almost all reaction video UA-camrs almost always think that Harry had left the Dursleys and moved into the Weasley home by the time they watch this film. I only make a big deal about this tid bit because it is a big deal in all the books. All readers or movie watchers asks why. Turns out it was a good question with a good answer. I am fighting with myself not to give any spoilers. LOL!🙊😆 I guess I can't blame the makers of this film for leaving certain key points. They didn't know the full story either by the time they created Goblet of Fire. The books series were still being written and they only had the author's words that she was willing to divulge with them in secret and she wasn't divulging much. So at times they had no idea what details was going to matter later on in the series. Not even Professor Trawling could have helped them with that. LOL! 😉📚🔮🔍😄
This has a spoiler from the book. The other plot point in the book was Rita Skeeter, the reporter. She kept making “reports” that included private things. Hermoine finds out her secret. She is an unregistered animage. She can turn herself into a beetle.
honestly i'd prefer if Rowling wasn't involved in the production. not just for political reasons but she was also involved in Fantastic Beasts and the last two were kinda ass.
I don`t know how to address each one of you two because you haven`t given us your names. So I`ll just call you Blue and Black :( I must say that you, Blue, are perfectly right about Ron`s and Hermione`s feelings. You`ve got such a nice attitude towards people and you are very empathic, which makes your reactions much more fun to watch. Thank you both! Warm greetings from Slovenia :)))
Fun Neville fact: In the books Moody gave Neville the plant book so he could help Harry out with the challenges. They slept in same room after all. But because Harry and Neville didn't chatter much and didn't ask for help, Moody ended up doing the gillyweed plan completelly differently and lamented in the end for Harry's own stupidity on the matter. 😅
Tom Riddle was born from a muggle father under a love potion of Amortentia but when he sobered up after months & months or years he abandoned his mother in a cruel way so this is where he gets his hatter for muggles. I’ll also tell you that this birth made him super attractive to everyone in a very supernatural way which is nobody at school could refuse him and he could weasel his way through everything to get what he wants. Everyone fell for him. Especially the teachers but also the great historian Bathilda Bagshot. His aunty or great aunt. He wasn’t easy to resist. ((I don’t know if I said this yet. I thought so at the goblet of fire but I just wanted to explain a few things)) He quite literally openly despised muggles for what his muggle father did to her beyond breaking her heart like that potion sure but Rowling went into either in the books or the rest of the story was put on the original pottermore website etc When you see the x men movies the best character ever named Magneto(Eric) you'll see what I mean when I say he's like Salazar and honestly was loved by many. Hundreds. Tom Riddle was an anomaly to say the least with the way in which he was born etc. it’s been a topic of discussion and entertaining deep dive videos for years now.❤️❤️❤️ there are so many great Harry Potter “lore” videos that are seriously entertaining that you’d love to do reaction videos to! Especially by people like the Carlin Brothers and a few others I will name later when I get the names again and edit them into this comment when I next get the chance! The brothers I mentioned are like the real life Weasley twins. As they are actual twins too!
Tom Riddle Snr was a very handsome man. Voldemort strongly resembled his hated muggle father. However, he used his looks and tragic background to charm and manipulate people into getting what he wants.
Bathilda wasn't related to Voldy. He had grandfather and uncle but they had stranded from the family due to excess inbreeding. They were direct decendants from Salazar Slythering. 😊
So, Krum in the maze was under the Imperious curse (one of the unforgivable curses). Professor Moody/Barty Crouch Jr cast it on him. The Imperious curse allows the caster to control the actions of the victim. BC jr made Krum attack Fleur, so that he and Fleur couldn’t proceed to the end of the maze, to give Harry a better chance of touching the cup and thus reaching the graveyard
Fun fact about the books are that Cedric already appeared in prisoner of Azkaban before this part and beauxbatons is not ladies only school ,in books it had both girls and boys
Hey guys just so you know Ron is a lot more intelligent and capable in the books than he is portrayed in the movies. Hermione tends to be more booksmart but gets flustered when under pressure, Harry is a prodigy, and Ron tends to be more capable with the application of magic cause he was raised surrounded by it since he was born.
As a mother of 2 boys I literally cannot watch the scene of Cedric’s father wailing over his son! I tear up EVERYTIME! He did a phenomenal job of expressing his complete agony! Unreal!
Reactors always seem to misinterpret the court scene. Snape was an actual death eater. Dumbledore says he switched sides and provided intel after the fall of Voldemort
The comment of the logo getting darker and darker as the movies goes on is spot on, though I laughed when he said by the last movie it would just be a black screen lol
Did you notice how Rita changes the line to "[his eyes]... swimming with the ghosts of his past" and later in the film he takes a bath with Moaning Myrtle who is a ghost from his past (the second film)? Side note: In German "Ei" is pronounced like eye in English, and means "Egg" interestingly. edit: tbh the character's name being "Moody" is very fitting and ironic since so many people in this one are moody toward each other lol.
Also they werent going to let the 4 students at the bottom of the lake die. It was just a threat to make sure the contestants were back within the hour. Like you said, they didnt sign up for the tournament lol. They said all this in the books
Those Chinese traditional dresses (one that Cho is wearing at the ball) are called cheongsam (more people know them as qipao) - same same. Just if anyone was interested in this little piece of information.
Robert pattinson had A+ acting in this movie. He was ready to fight voldemort and peter and showed genuine concern when harry was in pain from the scar. Hes a ride or die side character and it was so short lived it left an impact on me. I love rovert in this movie. Plus lying so still and wide eyed pretending to be dead was top notch acting.
Defense against the Dark Arts teaching post is actually cursed by voldermort bc he wanted the teaching position years ago but got refused. That's why no teacher lasts more than 1 academic year.
I don't know if someone said it already but Harry's name was placed by Karkaroff. He put it under a separate school. I believe he was bewitched to do so by Barty Jr. That was the only way to fool the goblet.
5:15 yo Neel you're thinking about the meme of Patrick bateman from American psycho where he walks through the office with headphones on, and the actor who plays Patrick is Christian bale who yes did indeed play Batman in the Dark knight trilogy, the best Batman movies ever 🤩
Well potentially fun fact about security you know crouch junior when he showed up to Hogwarts you know disguised as moody you remember the ceiling went crazy and started storming and then he turned it off/fixed it, I think that was one of their security systems but because he was moody no one questioned it was ideally just the magic ceiling acting up
In the books Hermione was by Harrys side from the moment his name came out of the cup. He didnt want to go down to the great hall for breakfast the next morning so she brought toast up to the common room and went for a walk with him. She was a real one.
please dont ever shorten them, i love the length

No, when they were watching it, they didn't shorten it. They just did it when they were editing it and then they uploaded it on youtube, right? Because of the copyright, they have to do it.

There is actually a reason Neville was so uncomfortable with the curse being cast, the movies mention it eventually
I’m commenting this because not a lot of people make the connection when it actually is mentioned.
They actually briefly mention it in this movie, but it can easily be missed.
@@dmidkif I would be one of those people who missed that lol

Both him and Ginny are two of the best characters in the series but the films completely ruined them for me
He's still an ass in this book, though.
No seriously...I been rereading and just in the first one alone Ron was way more brave. He was always ready to fight(except with spiders lol)
Harry probably regretted that “Together” for the rest of his life, bearing the guilt and thinking that he enabled Cedric’s death. Feelsbadman
In the movies they gave all of Ron's characteristics to Hermione and made him look like an idiot who's just... there, lol
its also hormones. raging hormones.
@@lukastace3154 Yeah, the movies weren't able to fully show all Ron's potencial. I say that only the last ones were able to do that. What is a shame, because Ron's simpler way of thinking allowed him to balance the dynamic of the group quite well. Another thing great about Ron is really the fact that he worked through his insecurities of having accomplished older brothers and famous/talented best friends.
a little correction: It's called prefect, not perfect ;)
@@resathe6760 You're right. I mispelled it when I was typing quickly.
Harry is the toughest 14 year old ever. Literally took the cruciatus curse like a champ.
They won money for winning the tournament, but Cedric's dad didn't want any, he gave it all to Harry, and he gave it all to the twins Weasley
that is even more depressing, and understandable on why he didn't want it, no amount of prize money would bring back what he values most, his son. 😔
Priori Incantatem can be used as a spell on anyone's wand to see what their last spell was. It just happens involuntarily if the wands are related.

'What is it, Vernon?'
But they were left in doubt barely a second longer. Voices could be heard from inside the blocked fireplace.
'Ouch! Fred, no - go back, go back, there's been some kind of mistake - tell George not to - OUCH! George, no, there's no room, go back quickly and tell Ron-'
'Maybe Harry can hear us, Dad - maybe he'll be able to let us out-'
There was a loud hammering of fists on the boards behind the electric fire.
'Harry? Harry, can you hear us?'
The Dursleys rounded on Harry like a pair of angry wolverines.
'What is this?' growled Uncle Vernon. 'What's going on?'
'They - they've tried to get here by Floo powder,' said Harry, fighting a mad desire to laugh. 'They can travel by fire - only you've blocked the fireplace - hang on -'
He approached the fireplace and called through the boards.
'Mr Weasley? Can you hear me?'
The hammering stopped. Somebody inside the chimney piece said, 'Shh!'
'Mr Weasley, it's Harry ... the fireplace has been blocked up. You won't be able to get through there.'
'Damn!' said Mr Weasley's voice. 'What on earth did they want to block up the fireplace for?'
'They've got an electric fire,' Harry explained.
'Really?' said Mr Weasley's voice excitedly. "Ecklectic, you say? With a plug? Gracious, I must see that.... Let's think ... ouch, Ron!'
Ron's voice now joined the others'.
'What are we doing here? Has something gone wrong?'
'Oh no, Ron,' came Fred's voice, very sarcastically. 'No, this is exactly where we wanted to end up.'” -Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 4: Back to the Burrow.

You know, because Harry's entrance in the tournament was unplanned, they didn't have a fourth dragon, so they had to improvise and got the Common Welsh Green which, in comparison to the other dragons, is quite docile (despite still being very dangerous). That being said, Fleur had quite the advantage over the other three, as she faced the least dangerous dragon, while Harry faced the most dangerous.
is this some additional info? Because I'm pretty sure it was not in the books

PLUS it makes it worse that the book’s elaborate more on Rita Skeeter and how she would make entire articles all about him while putting in fake dialogue from Harry making it seem like he was trying to make everyone feel bad for him and all that
So the feud continued until the First Task where Ron finally saw that clearly Harry wouldn’t have wanted to do this and realized the press was lying about the shit he said.
2. It's a petty joke, but I'm glad someone recognized Robert Pattinson from something other than "Twilight" lol
3. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are both co-ed schools, and in the book both schools brought both male and female representatives. I guess the directors just wanted a sense of sublime femininity vs. brutal masculinity, the obvious polar opposites haha

The students put under water were well aware and agreed to do it. They were never in any danger at all.
KEEP THE LONG REACTIONS COMINGGG ❤
"Last time i checked batman was like bruce wayne"
Best thing i have heard today
Bro I was weak Neel be such a clown sometimes
Or ”bird horse” lmao
24:05 If you read the subtitles one of the twins said they'll tear the other's ear off... That is some messed up foreshadowing.
Fun fact guys but the girl who plays Cho (the Asian girl) is the voice actress for Caitlyn in Arcane.
Fun fact there is also a giant squid (kraken) in the black lake if you're in Slytherin common room you can see it sometimes swimming past the windows. It's also very friendly to the all the students in Hogwarts.
Imagine if that was shown in chamber of secrets movie during the common room glimpse. ;)❤
@@Makkaru112 I'm just glad they put it in Hogwarts legacy
Wow great timing😂 I was just thinking that I'd love to see another Harry Potter reaction from you guys
Litteraly thought the same just when I checked ytb lmao
Robert Pattinson is Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves "the batman" which came out in like 2020-ish. So there's Adam West,Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and now Robert Pattinson who are/were all Batman.
Didn't the Robert Pattinson Batman come out like last year
@lukastace3154 I legit thought it was pandemic era. My bad.

What happened next is a whole different story
Ron's my favourite character, and the books are so much funnier and detailed, and Fleur's side story is the most heartwarming one.
I love watching these guys, they make me feel like a genius.
😂😂😂
That is personnally my fav Harry Potter movie I'm so happy to see this reaction video !
Also, please don't shorten the videos! I love love love them that way! We get to see as much as possible haha
@4:57 "last time I checked Batman was Bruce Wayne" LOL, you're killing me smalls! You must watch The Batman after HP now.
1:05:59 the way u guys mutter to each other & are silent at the same time because of the delay 3 times HAHAHAHAH
Fun fact: Hermione and Viktor continued being friends for a long time
Another thing is all the the Dragons in the first task were all nesting mothers and all of them were some of the most dangerous species of dragons.
"Did you put your name in the goblit of fire?"- Dumbledore asked calmly
That UA-cam Poops guy really made a great well edited series called Dumbledore’s revenge. I forgot the first ones name but the series is really good. A barrel of laughs. Especially when the steam comes out of Dumbledore’s ears as his face gets redder with anger lol.
😂 I'm so sorry. But! 🤣
I could not stop laughing when you first saw Robert Pattison (Cederick Diggory) and the first thing you said was "It's Batman!"
When most of us said "It's Edward!" 😂🤣
You guys just made my day! 🤣
Cedric is mostly recognized for his role in twilight - he is Edward the vampire in that movie
1:31:54 This is entirely Harry's fault for not letting Remus and Serius kill the rat when they had the chance.
And that might why Harry got hit so hard
it couldn't be stopped ..it was already prophesized wormtail would meet voldemort
@@jidhindharanm.p9351
Exactly, unfortunately!
I agree. They were Aurors, so they had definitely killed bad guys before.
LOL!🙊😆
I guess I can't blame the makers of this film for leaving certain key points.
Everyone writing essays
honestly i'd prefer if Rowling wasn't involved in the production. not just for political reasons but she was also involved in Fantastic Beasts and the last two were kinda ass.
I don`t know how to address each one of you two because you haven`t given us your names.
So I`ll just call you Blue and Black :(
I must say that you, Blue, are perfectly right about Ron`s and Hermione`s feelings.
You`ve got such a nice attitude towards people and you are very empathic, which makes your reactions much more fun to watch.
Thank you both!
Warm greetings from Slovenia :)))
Fun Neville fact:
In the books Moody gave Neville the plant book so he could help Harry out with the challenges.
I thought so at the goblet of fire but I just wanted to explain a few things))
He quite literally openly despised muggles for what his muggle father did to her beyond breaking her heart like that potion sure but Rowling went into either in the books or the rest of the story was put on the original pottermore website etc
When you see the x men movies the best character ever named Magneto(Eric) you'll see what I mean when I say he's like Salazar and honestly was loved by many.
Bro neels indian accent is goated af as a indian love u guys !
As a mother of 2 boys I literally cannot watch the scene of Cedric’s father wailing over his son! I tear up EVERYTIME! He did a phenomenal job of expressing his complete agony! Unreal!
You guys crack me up. 😄 I found your channel from these reactions to Harry Potter and I've been loving it.
i'll never stop sobbing after cedric's death and the father breaking down. :
They said all this in the books
yeah the movies does infact get darker and darker as the story gets more dark and intense. its awesome.
This is where I consider where each new movie will start getting darker because he is back now
Oh man im invested now. Cant wait for you guys to react to the next one. They keep getting better and better and darker and darker.
The guy who played Cedric was in the Twilight movies
All your concerns are valid but books are very detailed and explains everything
And from here on in the darkness really begins.
6:40 Glad to see you haven't forgotten your origins
Jai Hind 🇮🇳
Those Chinese traditional dresses (one that Cho is wearing at the ball) are called cheongsam (more people know them as qipao) - same same.
Just if anyone was interested in this little piece of information.
Imagine if Harry didn't let Cedric Diggory to tag along on touching the triwizard trophy he could still be alive 😅
Fun fact: in 1:29:35 krum is saying умри! Which means Die in bulgarian
When ron says "you know how i like it when they walk" only makes sense if u read the book because she is part veela
One of my favorite parts of these HP reactions are the guys donning their OSHA hats and pointing out the safety violations lol
Order of the Phoenix is my personal favorite im super excited for you guys to watch it
Cedric is the latest Batman and Edward Cullen in twilight
Robert pattinson had A+ acting in this movie. He was ready to fight voldemort and peter and showed genuine concern when harry was in pain from the scar. Hes a ride or die side character and it was so short lived it left an impact on me. I love rovert in this movie. Plus lying so still and wide eyed pretending to be dead was top notch acting.
Yall have earned another subscriber out of me. I love your reacts to these movies.
"So it's okay if they're unconscious??" Trying to get him cancelled 🤣🤣 I can't!! 1:17:40
12:32 "You want some screen time?" I'm dead XD
4:27
"It's Batman!"
Me:"It's Edward Cullen... from Twilight!"
