Hi, great looking tank, love the crypts, you said about biohome in mesh bags, do you know how much it used pls, as I would like to do the same, thanks.
Great tank. You mention you fill the back with bio home. Are you placing the media bags in the same section as the pump and heater so the are sitting under the sponges
I have the media out of the plastic bag do I keep it the black bag I am guessing I do I I just want to be sure I am new to t hobby and this is my first tank
@@channelwhywhywhy yes the plastic as been completely removed I am expecting my soil and plant delivery tomorrow so I can finish off setting up really looking forward to it
Please can you help with some advice on the water fill level as Fluval just say to read the manual an there’s nothing in there... I’ve had two lots of bacterial infections and I think that maybe my water level is too low so not using the charcoal filters properly. Could that be right? I have been filling only to the start of the black pattern at the top, but that may be too low? Should I just fill to the top of the outlets?
I fill mine about 1/2 to 3/5th's up the black water line band, also I eventually removed the charcoal. They need replacing every 6 weeks or so and I think they offer little benefit v additional bio media.
Great video . very informative. I'm coming back to the hobby after a few years break. Is the curved glass easy to clean on the inside? This tank may be the one i get. Thanks.
What dimension is the back piece to the glass? I am looking to get this tank for 2 goldfish. However; I am concerned that part of the tank is going to be too narrow. I have looked for the dimensions but they are not posted anywhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Fluval sells a saltwater version of this (check their site to make sure) tank. I asked another UA-camr what the difference was and he said the light only. So the filter should be fine.
I have an opportunity to pick up one of these and the stand for $300. Planning to do a smaller planted aquarium to complement my 75 gallon fresh. Do you still recommend this tank and are you supplementing with CO2 and/or fertilizers?
I'm not using Co2 at all. The light is brilliant and slightly over powered for the size of the tank. The fact you can add another is just a bonus TBH. Good luck
Hi I've just ordered this tank, what heater did you purchase please? and did i hear you correctly, have you placed the heater in the center compartment?
Sorry only just seen this. I went with 1 1/2 to 2" of aquarium soil so the plants can root correctly and topped up with another 1 1/2 to 2" of fine black sand. I got the rocks from my local aquarium shop, Wharf Aquatics - www.wharfaquatics.co.uk/
have 1 , not nessesarily complaint. but it is notable. Less of a noob might catch it. but it claims to have a 15.5 footprint. as far as floorsplace on a stand thats accurate. but the box filter on the inside takes up about 4 inches. the reason I baught it was for the floorspace. my landowner wont let me go over 40, I picked this cause of the footprint. spent a lil extra, and the floorprint is only the true fish floor space at about 20 percent of the sides, so its not actually better for fish that can potentially get bigger then you would normally want in a typical 30 gal. I didnt notice it till it was set up with the fish I was aiming to favour. so be aware folks. also I dont like the lid. I wish it folded at half or 1/4 or something so I can drop the food in random areas, rather then one spot. I suppose u can manipulate the current to disperse it. But I like picking where I drop it. then the bully fish dont nesesarily hog it as much , but ya i suppose it will disperse. takes a bit of the fun away though, and the knowledge of where to vacume potential left over food. 4 out of 5 id give it. the filter and all else is nice, but the floor specs are decieptfull. I sont think they specked that way dishinestly. But its something notable. perhaps they can put dual filtration on the sides or something and higher up so it dosent take up the floorspace. couldev saved a bundle getting a 40 gal and a HOB. but its a pretty nice tank and a kickass filter. been set up for a bit over an hour with sand substrate , ( from old tank ) and i already see notable clarity. but i might have to trade it at a loss now due to a mostly false floorspace
Could you add a CO2 difusor inside the rear chamber, next tot hte pump? And close de cover top

Great tank. You mention you fill the back with bio home. Are you placing the media bags in the same section as the pump and heater so the are sitting under the sponges
I placed them around the sponges. I left the pump and heater free to do there jobs.
Hi, do you need to adjust the tubing when you change the pump to an Eheim 1,000 compact pump
Hi John, yes. You'll need to change the length to a longer piece as the eheim isn't as big (tall) as the fluval pump it ships with.
Was the other pump you got hook up to the existing piping and out let or did you have to make changes for it to fit on
I bought some new piping as the new pump wasn't as tall as the OEM shipped version
Great Video! Very helpful! Thanks
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
So yoiu place the ceramic balls in the sponge without bags?
No you need the bags. I did however replace the balls with Biohome Ultimate which is a really great biological substitute
I have the media out of the plastic bag do I keep it the black bag I am guessing I do I I just want to be sure I am new to t hobby and this is my first tank
Yep, take it out of the plastic bag and keep it in the black media bag 👍
@@channelwhywhywhy thank you and the same with white one
@@johnschweiger1079 Yes. Just make sure there's no plastic involved. The bags are fish safe 👍

Fill to a inch from the top mate
hi, Love your video. would you pls share how you could route the plumbing to your EHEIM?
I guess for that matter the necessary plumbing should be the same?
What do you mean the filter is all built in
He is the one who does great escape podcast
Looking at getting one for my first tank, really helpful. Cheers
It's honestly perfect as a first tank. Right size and really well thought out.
A trick: watch movies on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Brayan Colin Definitely, have been watching on flixzone} for months myself :)
@Brayan Colin yea, I have been using Flixzone} for since november myself :)

Yeah it's super easy to clean. It's a great tank you won't regret it.
@@channelwhywhywhy Thanks for the reply.
The 32.5 I have is easy

It's 83cm long 40cm high 40cm deep
Hi
You say the pump is pants
I have spare Fluval u2...could I use this as alternative?
No mate wrong sort
Hi great video ilike the look of the flex. How would you mod. The filter for saltwater
@Everyday Aquarist has a brilliant guide on how to do this ua-cam.com/video/WjlXuINNhI0/v-deo.html

I use sparkling water now and them to feed the plants best thing I ever learnt

How many bags and pounds of substrate?
Hi I've just ordered this tank, what heater did you purchase please? and did i hear you correctly, have you placed the heater in the center compartment?
Yes in the centre weir. I bought a 200w Fluval E advanced heater - fluvalaquatics.com/us/e-series/ fits no problem.
@@channelwhywhywhy Thank you for your help :-)
Hello mate lovely tank. Can I ask is that a IKEA Kallax unit that the tank is sat on ? Many thanks.
Yes it is. I made sure I positioned the tank over the support elements to distribute the weight.
channelwhywhywhy thank you I have the same one and thought I’d just ask as I’ve just ordered this tank. Cheers mate looking good by the way 👍🏻
