Hi, question here from a fellow witch who is Wiccan, what is the difference between being Wiccan and pagan I thought it was the same thing? I must have researched wrong. :(
It’s really confusing, I still don’t really know to be honest 😂 how I understand it is that being a pagan is less set in what you do and believe, like you can completely chose what your religious beliefs are, work with one god or goddess or loads whatever you fancy, and pagan is also more of an umbrella term and then a Wiccan is a bit more set with a traditional Wiccan altar set out in a certain way, certain tools you have like a chalice and an athame but then also if you’re a Wiccan you don’t actually need that stuff at the same time to be a Wiccan and also people say wiccans always work with a god and a goddess of the same pantheon and some people don’t. It depends. I really don’t know and there is not really a set thing of what they both are so what I do is just pick the word that sounds nicer to you which you connect with more and then go from there. I used to be a Wiccan but now I’m a pagan, it makes me feel more free of what I can do and also is about being a nature based religion and also when I meet people and I say my religion most people know what a pagan is, people barely ever know what a Wiccan is so yes as well I also say I’m a pagan because more people know what it is. But yes it’s so confusing and there’s no clear cut thing of what it is 😊✨
This needn’t be confusing. Think of it this in terms of logics: All wiccans are pagans, but not all pagans are Wiccan. Wiccans, in general, identify as witches. But not all witches are Wiccan. Druids, Heathens, Neo-pagans, etc. are all pagan. But they are not witches, nor are they Wiccan.

have a wonderful mabon season!!
My 10 year old daughter Sarah and I have been rewatching Gilmore Girls yet again, as it's our "comfort TV" when we're not feeling well xx
Best show ever! ❤️
I would probably take a walk on mabon. Hope the weather will be nice, since today is the fourth day of nonstop raining 😊
Lovely idea, hope you have a lovely mabon!

It’s a bit like different trees, in the same wood. Or different branches of the same tree, if that is a more helpful image.
Happy Mabon!
