The spring equinox is my favorite out of all of the seasonal holidays~ usually I spend the day in celebration and spiritual focus but this year I’m re-evaluating my plans to allow for work and what I need to get done. As part of that I’m finally redecorating my room after some much needed cleaning, and am hoping to take some time in nature💛🦋🌱
My celebrations are usually small thanks to my space. But I plan on a simmer pot and sowing new seeds (literally)! And maybe making some sweets from an old recipe from my grandma :) Also we love you august!

The end of last year/beginning of this year was disturbingly rough and I want to turn things around and I hope that by doing all these things and doing the hard word to keep it up, things will be better ❤

Despite considering myself witch for the past 3 years this is the first solstice I’ll be actually celebrating and I’m very excited and have plans to intention set for the time ahead with my family and have some spring foods I plan on making!
For this equinox I've harvested lots of wild garlic from my local area and I'm planning on making some wild garlic bread and pasta. Celebrating the spring fruits of the earth!
Aren't monstera toxic to pets? Yeah... cleaning. Sadly my space has been stagnant since imbolc. St. Brigid answered though for that reading...I felt like she did anyway, pulled the snake from the old druid oracle! Happy Spring to all! 🌱🌷🕷️ (spider bc they are freaking everywhere right now! lol)
Monstera is toxic to pets! My animals like to sniff the plants, but rarely ever chew them. When I notice they have an affinity for certain plants chew-ing wise, especially the cat, I will get rid of the plant if it's toxic (this happened with my Alocasia). Most of the time my cat does a kind of brushing up against it, batting at it, etc, but doesn't tend to lick or chew (same with the dog). If they do lick, I'll stop them before they chew and ingest the plant, which causes the damage!

Out of curiosity I notice the St. Michael card in the back, what’s the reasoning behind it. I was raised Catholic so that has an influence on my practice
St Michael is positioned on my black protective candle! This candle is part of a practice described in "Burn a Black Candle" by Dee Norman, and I added the St Michael card mainly because he is important in my practice as well as Italian American folk magic! Many herbs we use have direct association with him, such as garlic, and he is often prayed to for protection.
hey I have a random question about that has nothing to do with this video. I know in your video about folk catholicism a few months ago you said that when working with saints you could use offerings to incentivize them to help you out. is it always a business type relationship with spirits/saints or can you also talk to them as a friend when venerating them like you would a person once you build a good relationship?
Totally up to the practitioner! I have a few Saints where my relationship is less business-y, namely the ones my family prayed to frequently (Mary in different apparitions and St Anthony of Padua). I have active altars for both of these Saints so I can further bring them into my life and practice, and oftentimes they aren't answering a petition!
@@ChaoticWitchAunt yesterday a tried St. Dymphna (patron saint of mental illness) by leaving water, various crosses/rosaries that were gifts, a few dollars I would donate to a mental health charities, a white candle, and promised her many prayers. the next day I felt amazing despite all the stress going on in my life, just for that day I felt peace. it wasn't very elaborate either. I didn't even need a special altar for her. I will build an altar for her eventually, then toy around with some food offerings, or holy water/blessed salt. she's been helping me often in little ways (like with meditation) by me simply giving her a meaningful prayer. btw I could probably try to petition saints to help other people too, right?
