Couldn't agree more. I have always liked Conan, but just never really liked the whole talk show/late night show format so wasn't much of a fan of the show. The podcast, however? Haven't missed an episode.
@@jimr9499 I always enjoyed the skits he did but yes his panel interviews were not the greatest and I think part of that was he was trying too hard to make them funny and entertaining. For me, his remotes always showed that he is a very naturally funny and didn’t need to be over the top like he was in his interviews. The podcast format really seems to have let him relax, settle in and be his natural self.
Luke's always seemed like such a total sweetheart, the kind of warm and benevolent older-brother figure you could absolutely count on for sage advice over a coupla brews.
I just saw "Misery" for the first time, and while Kathy Bates' performance is appropriately raved about, Caan was a perfect counterpart, the film demands a very careful dynamic between those two characters (of which makes up almost all of the film, with short side narratives) that is perfectly delivered. One of the best payoffs I've ever seen in the film.
That’s great you chose Bottle Rocket. It really was an incredible and charming film. Owen will always be Dignan to me. And Luke will always be Anthony.

We recorded at Sun Studio! Not the same as meeting Scotty, but love that Conan has done a shout out to Memphis music on both episodes of the podcast this week! Its funny because today, Sept first, is 9.01 day, which is Memphis' zip code and day of celebration. How fitting!
It seems like a lot of people on here do not realize that Luke's older brother, Andrew, is also in Bottle Rocket. He is also in Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums, Zoolander and Idiocracy.
Yeah, not quite the prolific actor, but I like some of his line deliveries. -"Look at this guy, he looks a little bannana!"- That's one of my favourite lines in a Wes Anderson film.
Bottle Rocket was so uniquely funny. James Caan was good in it, but I got the impression he wanted to publicize his martial arts teacher and training in that.
Can't get enough vids from this episode! 🙂They crushed it. Conan and Luke are so good together. Have Luke on more often please! And save some honeycomb for Gourley, would ya, Los Angeles? Is that too much to ask?
Love that Luke Wilson made sure to mention his brother Andrew in the list of people who made Bottle Rocket. The movie is underrated already but even more underrated is Andrew Wilson as Future Man. He showed up in other Wes movies after but never got as big a role
I don't want to brag...but I once talked to the wife of the son of the man whos best friends uncle was the janitor at the studio that Elvis recorded in. So, you know, I understand Conan and Luke exactly....

I love how Conan is more relaxed now and let's his true sense of humor shine.

I think he just has many kinds of humor. Also he is older now and more relaxed, true.

Totally agree, I'm happy for him. I love how much he loves podcasting, especially since he didn't expect to like it much
Conan transitioning his Career from late night host to podcaster has brought me an immeasurable amount of joy.
Me to 😊🙌
It has appealed to me in various ways.

The Wilson brothers are a few of the most likeable people in show business.
Yeah, not many most likeable people in show business.
I know someone who worked with Owen on a movie and said he was so full of himself. But that was over 15 years ago. Maybe he's changed now.

he didn't get out of the cockadoodie car!
Agreed. I always thought that James Caan should have been nominated for an oscar along side Kathy Bates. He is that good in Misery.
Completely agree. Kathy Bates was incredible in a star-making role but I always thought James Caan had the harder job as an actor in that movie.
“Did you ever have a touch to lose, man?” One of the funniest scenes ever! Love that movie!
“Who is that man?”
“That’s Applejack!!!”
Oh god that's right, I'd forgotten that...I just quoted a line and said it's arguably the funniest in the film, but it'd have to go to Kumar :)

Bottle Rocket is a Wes Anderson gem. Remember the '90s?✌️
Ooh I membah!
I genuinely love listening to Conan geek out over music and TV history! It's so great to see his passions bubble up into these conversations.
Luke is one of my favourites. Seems like a genuine, humble person, like Jeff Bridges.
I love that Conan loves Bottle Rocket!! Great interview!!
Bottle Rocket is an underrated gem.
One of the greatest and truer lines. "Karma's only justice without the satisfaction, and I don't believe in justice" James Caan
