    Do you have low back pain usually in one side? have you check your Gluteus Medius? This video will fix your Gluteus Medius Weakness With Low Back Pain with Pilates Fix! and it is focusing on the Gluteus Medius muscle weakness, I discussed the Anatomy and Function of this muscle before i demonstrated 7 exercises focusing on this muscle to strengthen to support the low back, pelvic area and most especially the hip ,which is one of your Glute muscles that help with your posture, balance and stability. If this muscle is strengthen, it will eventually help low back pain, aches, stiffness, asymmetry of pelvis and decrease rotation of the hip during walking and standing and usually in one side of the hip and back.
    Side lying position is a great alternative if lying on your back causes pain and discomfort.

    1. heel slides
    2. reverse heel slides
    3. side lying leg circles clockwise and counterclockwise
    4.clam shell.
    5. Clam Shell progression
    6. Hip Internal rotation
    7. Hip extension with abduction and internal rotation leg lift with kick backward

    Quality is very important than quantity and I do believe performing 4 reps at a time is great way to master all the Pilates exercises in order to prevent injury then slowly progress to 10 reps..

      Winslow S that Is great to hear , I Will do the progression next video with an elastic band as the progression .     Wow, what a great video and I’m hoping these exercises will help my back and hip issues. Love your description of the glute medius being the “deltoid of the hips” that was an excellent analogy.

    I did it twice to get both sides of my body and will do it every day for a week and then use the bands as you suggested. Really looking forward to using your expertise to fix my sciatica and leg/hip nerve issues. Thank you Annie!

      I do not have bck pain only penile numbness including scrotal numbness nd perinium, some times i get legs weakness so belive i hve obturtor issue as well, one day i got electrical shock lik sensation in my perinium and since than i developed penile numbness, please suggest exercises for this issue an obturator and other peroneal nerve etc thanks inded

    Hi Annie, love your videos, I suffer from chronic lower back pain and stiffness, my left glute is smaller and weaker than my right due to a sciatica problem many years ago, seemingly the muscle was strangled if that makes sense, is this the exercise I finally need as everything I have tried has failed,many thanks.     I just tried these exercises, they were great. Really felt the activation of the gluteus medius muscles the most compared to other exercises I've done before. I'll try these for a week before progressing to the next set of exercises :)

    I have this exact pain you speak of in my left hip and it started a few months back. I play soccer twice a week and this pain prohibits me from running full speed. The chiropractor and massage therapist have yet to help so I’m excited to try this daily to see if it helps. After trying the exercise once, I definitely don’t have a lot of mobility but I’m hoping that changes. Thank you for the great content and explanation of everything👍🏼

    Could the low back pain also be at the lower rib area? Or is the low back pain you talk about way lower next to sacrum?

      The lower rib area is part of mid back pain and the pain from lumbar to sacrum is low back pain

      @@AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist or do you think because im extremely weak in GM. I also have moderate OA in hip. The QL was becoming strained. Was really painful just more discomfort. Felt heavy. activating all day with a few dets and i feel lest discomfort.
