I was in Biology class when i got a notification that you uploaded so i started watching this video on my Chromebook my Bio teacher saw me watching and was about to yell at me until he noticed it was you he still made me close it but said "just because its Lawson i wont give you a referral" and i almost died laughing but now me and my bio teacher are best buds.. shout out to Mr. Biver
Lawson is killing it!! i started to throw artificial heavy this weekend Friday for 2 hours then like 4 hours Saturday and 3-5 hours Sunday and caught zero fish.... but that will not stop me, i'm sure that im doing it wrong but will keep trying and learning. im sure the wind and current got me the worst tho.. still learning
seing that you like trowing shrimp like artificials, i suggest you (and everyone else) try the offshore angler "scamper shrimp" tails on a round or football jighead between 3/8 to half oz. very durable, very cheap and deadly on snook, trout and pretty much anything! pompano, lookdown, ladyfish, you name it, it catches it. very underrrated and under appreciated bait =)
I love how you fight the fish isn’t of rushing them in like many UA-cam’s do, letting them fight and stuff is the best part, playing the fish and not rushing it
Vudu shrimp has become one of if not my favorite lure to use lately. Haven't been able to catch fish on anything else the past week. Its been out fishing live shrimp
I love how in one place a certain fish is classed as trash but in another its a prized sport fish. In Australia we call Ladyfish a Giant Herring and they are very elusive and often bust you off, I lost one over a metre long on the weekend.
I don't have the luxury of fishing in great areas like this often. Had a ladyfish on back in May and am tortured that I lost it. I hate the phrase "trash fish."
What a great illustration of how much difference just a subtle change can make! If I had to guess what factors made the one lure more successful, I’d say it’s 1) weight, 2) appendages and 3) visibility of the chartreuse in that order.
I think a lot of predators can see ultraviolet light spectrum way better than we can. More and more lure companies are adding colors that are very good at reflecting uv light like chartreuse, pink, and white ect. I have noticed that those colors are very effective in most circumstances, the major exception being when fish are skittish and spooky. Those days you want to stay natural and subtle. You can go though your tackle box with a black light and group your lures based on their reaction to uv light. Then you can break out the uv flashy stuff when it's murky, overcast, and so on and use the natural and darker colors when the bite is light and the fish are spooked before you even get near them.
The Brazilian fishermen use artificial shrimp very similar to those of their video, only the technique that I noticed is a little different in the touches of rod and recoil of the line, are two touches longer and the recoil is made to remove the slack of the line and when you feel the shrimp touch the sand, it restarts the cycle with the two touches and recollection. And so the bait simulates the movement of a live shrimp. This technique takes several species, especially the Big Snook. Note: The rod is quick-action to better convey the stick-to-toe taps to the bait.
Pumped you are getting back on a boat, I've been really enjoying the diversity of videos of late, and hope you keep it up. I went wade fishing for the first time this week. A little sketchy in darker water around here but found a lot of locations I would of never been able to get to in my boat.
The 2 big differences between those shrimp were the one that was working had the bright tail and lots of tail wagging. With the increase in using soft plastics I've started doing for the past year in fresh and salt, I've seen how fish love the tail wagging, like a Berkley Havoc Bottom Hopper Jr vs the traditional Berkley Powerbait curly tail worm and paddle tails that have "dog-like" wagging vs the traditional ones. A large difference in color on the tail or a rear teaser on a hard jerkbait is an attractant. BTW- Bluefish are known to not fully react to the hook in their mouth until they see the person or vesel. Once you get them close enough, THEY RUN!
Looked like a good morning of wade fishing. It was very interesting seeing the different results of the two lures. I fish jerk shads a lot, and have noticed that switching between colors of the same brand makes only a small difference, but changing brands can be a huge difference due to different fall rate and action depending on density of material, shape, etc.
Love the waders and salt water/shore line game !!! To many boat/fresh water anglers... WIsh I could try that shrimp here in Europe. Im sure the seatrout would smash it!
I would love to see a video where you pick a fishing spot from Google maps. I live in west central Florida. I'd like to see what you look for when bank fishing.
Bought a few of these rubber shrimps. Back in the day the DOA was a big hit ; although honestly never did any good with them. But today it seems that GULP and Z Man and others ; have brought the A --- game and keen to try again. My arsenal ; # Some shrimp baits ( in assorted brands ....in the 3 inch range .) Colours gold fleck; natural etc # Diawa BG 1O reel with 6lb line. # 7 foot ultra light graphite rod PLUS : Plano Magnum Tackle Box Tide chart .... Landing net .... No idea where to try ; have to a research spots in or around Sydney. These baits you cannot eat if no fish bite on them ; unlike the real deal... lol ! Any tips ???
Try fishing those shrimp baits in tandem to see how they do. Also, try getting some of the color dip for plastic baits and add that to the bait which doesn’t have the colored tail. Should be some interesting results!
My pops got it this morning from a Mangrove Snapper. Always warning him, now he knows. Congrats on a nice day. But.....I remember a recent wade fishing video from a certain angler who said that "it doesn't matter on the type of artifical shrimp". And now you know.
Hey Lawson I just signed up for the PRO mystery tackle box! Thanks again for emailing me back about your "Submarine" shirts last week. I really enjoy your videos and I've been learning alot. Please keep it up!!!!
Hey Lawson! I had a question. I was looking into buying a baitcaster like your Shimano. I noticed that you fish your spinners right handed and your Calcutta left. I found a good deal on a left handed Shimano. What are your thoughts? I do have a baitcaster I use for bass fishing and it’s a right hand.
It's gotta be the chart tail and the increased action, that first shrimp's tail is way more floppy. I've been having a lot of luck with the Zerek/Vudu mullet with chart tail, they have a lot of tail wiggle also but def going to pick up some of those shrimp.
Hey buddy June 13th I'll be in myrtle beach and I wanna do some fishing I haven't fished the ocean in years and if you have the time I'd just like a message back, any idea what I could use for bait to catch a fish on? I've only caught snook out of the ocean and I got lucky to get a 35 incher off a greeny in Florida any ideas would be appreciated love your videos and hope to post my own one day sooon
Really noticing you are pumping it up on fishing tips, thanks. Pompano, the best textured meat and tasting fish out there! I noticed you were really working that shrimp fast, contradicting your lesson on fishing with artificial shrimp recently, hmmmnnn, too many energy drinks maybe?
@@RadReelingFishing Pretty sure I know the video you're talking about. He said he was working it slower because of colder water temps in the video. Just double checked and he also was talking about people being too fast in general. Youre right.
He's probably too used to getting into jacks with erratic retrieves, causing him to not have the patience to slowly bottom bounce. I've given him tips on how to bottom bounce for sluggish fish during the colder months, but I haven't seen him doing it yet.
Mr. Lawson a good suggestion when you're fishing from the shore maybe try some a little bit of chum to help you attract more fish even though I know you use a lot of artificial lures but who knows it could probably help
Do a video where you go bass fishing with saltwater baits, like use the shrimp instead of rubber worms, use gulp, bucktails, etc. Thatd be interesting to see what works well for both
Did you get your boat sold yet? Awesome vid as always. Really enjoying the saltwater box I'm in my second month of my sub and so far so good. It's had several good ones in there so far. Thx for the plug, wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't brought it to the channel 🤘
Nice diversity lately, especially the trout and pomp. Have to ask though, now that the boat is gone are the monster jack and snook going away too? They are your best vids
Hey I enjoy you videos. I was wondering if you can do a video on how to set a proper drag. I find my self setting it loose or to tight Basically.... help lol
Good vid Lawson thank you. What brand are your waders, and do you like them enough to recommend them. Would appreciate your feedback. I’m in the market for a pair. Thx
Hey Lawson!!! I don’t know if you said it and I missed it but, what is the brand of the yellow tailed shrimp you were using that was catching all the fish? Thank you, and keep up the great work!!!
You should see if you could find a swimming pool and then use your GoPro camera underwater and throw your lures in so you can see the action, how they settle, and their movement. That would be great for us viewers to see.
I don't think the color had anything to do with it. The shrimp with the chartreuse tail has better tail action than that golden shrimp. Maybe if you worked the golden shrimp a little slower, it would've been successful...maybe. Great vidz as usual!
Is this around Stuart? I left the WPB area and moved to Colorado about 20 years ago, right about when gill nets were banned. Do you think inshore fishing has improved since the ban?
Grew up around Tampa Bay and I believe it's got better but there's more fisherman plus it looks like there's a lot more seagrass than there was back then

You do a great Lawson impersonation ... sounds just like him 😜
does anyone know what knot he ties around 9:00? Thanks
Vudu shrimp is where it’s at
I catch a lot of peacock bass, snook and tarpon with the vudu shrimp in suriname. In my opinion it's the best shrimp lure on the market.
So just to clarify, the Vudu shrimp is the first one with the chartreuse tail in the video, right?
Yes that is correct
Agreed
Anyone know what color this vudu shrimp is?
Killing it Lawson, love your content, keep it up bro!
Do you wade in sand pockets or in straight sand
It's gotta be the chart tail and the increased action, that first shrimp's tail is way more floppy. I've been having a lot of luck with the Zerek/Vudu mullet with chart tail, they have a lot of tail wiggle also but def going to pick up some of those shrimp.

Forgot to ask what kind of reel is that?
Had no luck in 3 days of fishing in port aransas texas...saltwater fishing is really different from freshwater fishing for sure...
What brand of reel is that

VuDu Shrimp, I guess.
Fishing Fan-at-ic! Vudu Shrimp by Egret Baits
What color is the vudu shrimp?
My favorite Trout spot is filled with Lady Fish. You just have to weed through them like you said.
Do you ever keep and cook your catch?
You need to know the brazilians soft shrimp of Big ones and Monster softbaits. The realism in the water is incredible!
Curious what reel that is? Looking to get an inshore reel to pair with my loomis
Penn clash

Could be that shrimp good for spanish or king macarel too?
can anybody tell me what kind of reel he's using please?
I believe 2500 Penn Clash
Hey Lawson any advice for a new channel
Just curious what the problem with Jack is? I've eaten and it's good. Am I missing something?
What kind of paddle tail is that. Brand wise?
If I am not mistaken, VuDu Shrimp!
It was the action in the tail that made the difference
Fun to catch different species. Well done.
I once got coin size piece of my palm taken out by a blue fish (we call them tailor in NSW Australia). Nasty fish! :)
I don't think the color had anything to do with it. The shrimp with the chartreuse tail has better tail action than that golden shrimp. Maybe if you worked the golden shrimp a little slower, it would've been successful...maybe.
