How did you know the issue was your module? And what were the symptoms?

First symptom was the light on the switch on the overhead console for the rear liftgate flickered at night for quite some time before it completely failed. The rear liftgate would only work sporadically here and there. So then I went straight to the module to see if there was any issues with the connection and seen the green crusties and the horrible location of it. Cleaned the connection and replaced the power connection going into it and that worked for about 3 months before the crusties that were inside the module finished off eating that lead inside the module.. So then replaced the module and it worked with the remote but not the overhead switch. So I figure with the module shorting out so much it took out that switch. Replaced the switch and then I could use that again as well. It has been working flawlessly since. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I forgot to add the major symptom of the module failing was a battery drain that would kill the battery if it was not driven for a few days. The shorting module kept the system "Awake".

@@TheTison5stars Make sure to check the connection on the module, the placement of that module causes issues with corrosion. The main power feed plug on the right with two thick wires. If there is corrosion there then the module will hopefully be your issue.

@@TheTison5stars The chains on the lift motor are common to break also from rusting up in one area. I have a video on replacing the chain as well. I think I have three liftgate videos in total on a playlist on here. :))

Hi my liftgate goes up good but wont down. Can you help me please. Im from Chile and hernits so dificult find solutions.

If it goes up with power lift then it should go down as well. The first thing I would check is the hidden liftgate module for corrosion. If everything is fine with the module corrosion wise ( you can check playlist of liftgate videos to locate it) My next step would be checking the overhead switch and the button by the rear liftgate on the inside of the rear of the van by the lift arm. If there is corrosion inside the module replace it.

@@u.p.tinkering hi again, first thanks a Lot for your time. I make a a inspection of module and i don't SEE any corrotion on wires, plugs or module board i make a clean up of all componnents and try to keep unplugged all night. No changes on fuctioning. liftgate keeps full automática opening but wont automático go down and close.

@@flipedbear I know that if the rear liftgate does not quite open fully automatic closing will not work either. Make sure the liftgate struts are holding it completely open. I know mine even with new struts sometimes does not quite open fully and I have to give it a little extra lift by hand to get it fully opened then the button works to close it.
