Honestly I just got a goldwing and the first thing I thought about, not sleeping in hotels when i do my cross country trip. Very good video. I see descriptions but not many videos.
Loved the video and enjoyed the Ambassador for a short while I was a 64 and 5'6" solo rider and had to get help to put up and take down. I loved the space. Sold it now I'm looking for a mini mate or even a clam shell to get back out there at 67.
I just came back from trip to Europe. I the Netherlands, I saw a Hyundai accent 2 door hatchback towing a full sized camping trailer. So, yes there are a variety of motorcycle tent trailers that would be perfect for towing behind a small car or small SUV.
So, since a wet-bath kit is important to me, the next step is to open up your rectangular shallow tupperwate, assemble your folding toilet w/bio-bags, hang shower curtain, and suspend your gravity-feed "solar shower" with nozzle (use cook stove to heat water to drsired temp for showering or washing dishes for filling solar shower).
The beds are 6' 6" long and about 46" wide. Great for one person on each side, but my wife and I found it a bit cramped sleeping on the same side. There are better choices out there for couples camping.
I had a 2009 and had to drill drainage holes in the storage compartment. First when it was stored with the tounge down water found its way in and it looked like a bathtub. With the drainage holes now i could hose it out. I loved this trailer but for one person it was just too difficult to put up and take down. I did love the sleeping area though.
I wonder how well it would tow behind a sedan or small suv/crossover. It looks to me like its just about the right weight that it wouldnt go all over the place, and for a family of two or a single person just wanting to go on a summer car trip this could be a nice affordable option. I'm getting to the point where setting up a tent and crawling on the ground just isnt as easy or fun any more.
Thanks for checking out the video. It would be just fine behind a car or suv. It's a great option for someone not wanting tent, but also not wanting a large heavy camper trailer.
I was thinking the same thing trading in my old van 1990chevy recite one of these small Jeepster toy thing cars I'd be about the right side of the hall behind
@@NorthernADVI found out that Aspen stopped manufacturing campers in 2020.... as did several other manufacturers of campers like this. The pandemic was not kind.
You can definitely feel the difference and you need to leave more space in front of you, but it's not terrible. I witnessed a six car pile-up right in front of me coming around Atlanta and I was thankfully able to stop before getting tangled up in it.
I have a Jeep Renegade but I like the simplicity and size of motorcycle campers. Would I be able to tow this with a Jeep? Or would I need some sort of adapter to get the tongue and hitch to connect to a car instead of a bike?
It has a regular 1 7/8" tongue and a standard "4-flat" wiring connector. You could certainly pull it no problem with your Renegade. You might want to get a receiver insert for your jeep that drops down several inches so that the trailer tows level. Those are readily available at Harbour Freight, etc. I hope you can find one of these as they certainly are great little campers. Thanks for watching!
Wow that is a lot of interior room for such a small trailer, and there is lots of room inside for totes with clothes and a cooler. How much load is the roof rack rated for, I wonder? You covered about everything else but the cost.
Thanks for watching! I'm not sure on weight for the roof rack but it sure seems solid. There's just so much cargo room inside that I can't imagine needing to strap anything to the rack. A small kayak maybe? As for the cost, I believe the manufacture stopped making them, so you'd be looking at a pre-owned one. You could likely find one in the $2500 - $3500 range.
You could tow it fine with a car. The only issue you might have is that you might not be able to see it very well behind you. Thanks for checking out the video!
The trailer does not have it's own brakes so it does take a bit longer to stop. You definitely need to put some time in practicing emergency stops (like anything else). While you're riding you need to keep that extra stopping distance in mind all the time. Honestly, it's not much different than getting used to having a bike loaded with a passenger and gear. However, since the trailer is a bit wider than the bike, you need to get used to a slightly different lane position, tire position for avoiding potholes, and turning wider when leaving the gas pumps. On the plus side, you are more visible. My bike is about 8 feet long, and with the trailer and tongue I become almost 20 feet long. Heck, my full size pick-up is only 18 or 19 feet long. Sitting up on a bike I'm taller than most sedans...lol. Thanks for watching!
New, they were somewhere around $5,000 but you can find used ones for around $3,000 more or less, but they can be hard to find. Some even had a 9' x 9' add-a-room.
Lol...thanks for checking out the video. Ya, it was a bit stained when I got it, but definitely cleaned and disinfected now that I've put some elbow grease into it.
Great video. You made it easier for me to pick out a camper.
Glad I could help! Thanks for checking out the channel!

Thanks for watching! Enjoy your goldwing. Fantastic bikes!
That was quite the job for just a filter. Nice work! I think you found your slogan without even realizing it. " Just winging it! " Perfect slogan
Thanks buddy!
I met numerous HD riders that went to the Goldwing and loved it.
Thanks for watching! I have nothing against HD's but I really do enjoy riding the goldwing!
I never go anywhere without a bottle of jack😂
That's not a bad idea!
What a neat trailer. Perfect for someone who wants to camp alone. Put all your gear on other bunk. Nice mat on floor…cozy.

Nice rig. It would however benefit from a small door on the back. Some of us are not as young as we used to be.
I totally agree! Perhaps a small door that doubled as fold-down steps would be perfect!

This is very cool. Thank you!I’m wondering how long the beds are.

I did the exact same thing Doreen, drilling drainage holes into both the front and rear compartments, just in case. Seems to work well.
That's pretty awesome! Love that little camper!
All the people asking if it can be towed, trailer tents are used alot in the UK and Europe
The U.K. is on my bucket list! I'd love to spend some time riding and camping over there! Thanks for watching John!

You can probably install a sway bar system to prevent road/wind sway. That system helps control/track lighter tows.

According to mfg's website, they stopped making and selling trailers in 2020
That is certainly a shame. I haven't seen very many used ones for sale either. Thanks for checking out the video!
Does it have brakes or are you depending on the bike to stop you.

Yep. You just can't see it behind you. 😂

Sorry you found that distracting. I tend to enjoy videos that have a little background music so I chose to make this one that way. Have a great day!

sorry but...that trailer weighs more than 300 LBs MT
