      Yes, I haven’t tried the awning yet but it will add a nice 10 X 6 hang out area ! (I also ordered a “ hippie rug” so it will be a colourful campground) I can’t wait to try it! Thanks as always for stopping by sista ! Cheers.

    Good Video. You should have years of great camping experience with your rig. We have had our Lee-Sure Lite Camper since 2013 and have camped all over BC, Washington State and here on Vancouver Island. I have added several inexpensive practical features to make our camping experience more enjoyable. 1. Bolted a Reese Towpower Bolt on Swivel Mount Trailer Jack with 6" (15 cm) wheel to the trailer tongue. Easily raised when travelling. It acts as a third wheel when at the campsite for positioning the camper. At 82 years old, I'm not as agile as I once was and this "third wheel" makes it easier for handling the camper. 2. Made a portapotty from a Home Depot 5 gallon bucket and a bolted on old toilet seat and lid I had lying around the house. Use draw string plastic kitchen catchers for the lining. Works great for privacy. Put it at the bottom of the camper by a door. No smell. Change the lining daily. 3. Used some clear plastic PVC vinyl tubing cut to size and split for putting over the two top skids. Tied down with zip ties. These are on permanently and protect the top skids from the elements and the ground. 4. Put on reflective tape on the rear and sides for added visibility from other vehicles when travelling. 5. We bought the 2" double mattress from the manufacturer, but it was too hard for our old bodies. Bought two single fold-a-beds from JYSK when they were 4" (10 cm) thick. They fit in snug and now give us 6" (15 cm) of mattress which makes for a real comfortable sleep. 6. We leave the add-a-room kitchen fly on the camper. It doesn't interfere with the opening and closing of the lid. We also added a 12' x 14' poly tarp to throw over the whole rig, even over the attached rain fly. Living in a rain forest environment it can rain anytime. We have never has so much as a drop of water in the rig. 7. My winter project this year was to make a portable camp shower for my wife, who really hates the public showers at campgrounds especially during this COVID crisis. I made the shower out of a Hula Hoop from the Dollar Store for $3.50. Already had shower rings and shower curtain. Tied 3/8" rope in an "X" shape in the space between the 4 struts near the doors. Used carbiners for easy attachments. Tucked the shower curtain into a 3' x 3' tub to prevent splash over. Bought a rechargeable battery operated Ivation portable camping shower with a 6' (1.8m) cord and shower head from Amazon.ca for $59.99 (Most expensive item bought). This is submerged in a 5 gallon black plastic lidded pail. Water heats in the pail during the day in the sun, topped up with hot water heated on our Coleman stove. Haven't used it yet this year while camping, but tried it out twice in the house and it works like a charm. Now my wife have have a private shower and private biffy when camping. This is a long comment, but it just shows how you can improve on what you already have in a great product. Happy camping.
    Didiki.

      @@WindyTherapyThank you for your comments. Unfortunately, due to a MC accident several years ago when I was riding/camping across Canada and the road suddenly disappeared in rural Saskatchewan, resulting in 9 broken bones in my right foot and arm, it has left me with limited movement, so I've had to end my MC days. I tow our Lee-sure camper with our 2012 Nissan Frontier 4WD truck. I have also outfitted the back of the truck under the canopy as an emergency shelter with a raised sleeping platform and place for the rest of our camping gear. All in all, this gives us a "home away from home" when we travel, and we have all the conveniences. We get lots of favourable comments from fellow campers when we get to a campsite and set up everything under 5 minutes. The best comment was from a young guy who couldn't believe than an "old fart" in his eighties was still out camping, implying that I should be either, at home in a rocking chair, in an old folks home, or dead. We are pretty well prepared for any type of camping. Now we're just waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse.

    I have a 2007 Leesure Lite that I pull behind my 2018 Goldwing, and I absolutely love it!!
    I have the 1000W Jackery with two Jackery solar panels (I take my full size coffee pot with me😉). That was almost as great of an investment as the trailer itself!
    I weighed my whole set up on my last trip (I carry 5 gallons of water, a 20 pound propane tank for my heater, stove, and propane fire pit, and my 30 pound Corgi on the back seat). Total weight was 1500 pounds! Just the trailer axle was 650 pounds!
    The only thing missing out of that weight was my kayak that I carry on top when I go camping at places I can kayak.
    Have a great time making some awesome memories, and keep the rubber side down! 😉

      Hi Landon, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your experiences. I can’t wait to head out (I am still a LL virgin as the weather has been awful around here) but I am sure it will be a blast. I will need to be careful with the weight as my bike is smaller than yours (Triumph Trophy SE) but I used to tent so .... I know how to pack light ! Lol
      What’s your tongue weight as described?
      About the Jackery ...... yes, they are the cats ass (like we say here) and my 300W will be handy to charge my cell, iPad and drone. (and I am still looking for a LED string light to put on the awning. Please keep in touch ! Cheers Eddie

    • @sfret1

      The Goldwing is RATED to pull 1500 lbs? My full dresser Victory CCT isn't rated but the advise is no more than 600lbs.

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  3 роки тому +3

      Generally speaking (as it isn’t disclosed nor advertised by motorcycle manufacturers) the rule of thumb is …… the trailer should weigh 50% (maximum) of the motorcycle total weight. (I.e if the total weight of the trailer is 500 lbs the bike needs to weigh at least 1000 lbs)

      Yes, it is a pretty cleaver design. This unit isn’t cheap however considering that I wanted to up my camping game and take my motorcycle with me that was the most “reasonable” option. • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  3 роки тому

      Hey Ricardo, welcome aboard ! For sure, great question. I didn’t want to highlight it manly because it is my own McGiver safety improvement. The flag has two main purposes. First helps others to see you better (or easier) but also helps a lot when you’re towing it behind your vehicle. (In a motorcycle you can see the trailer all the time but it gets completely hidden behind our SUV which is unsettling to me) I believe I came up with a “clean” and somewhat professional way to install it. I was gladly surprised to realize the trailer frame is fabricated with 1 1/4” square tubing which is the same size as a standard hitch bar. Based on that, you just need to put the hitch inside the frame, drill a 1” hole through it for the pin and attach the flag to the hitch bar. It works great and really looks sharper with it. The only thing that I am not very happy with is the buggy whip itself because was advertised as for “ATV” but I believe is more or less for a bicycle. It bends very easily with the wind at higher speeds. I will search for a better (thicker pole) and replace it soon. Unfortunately I can’t send pictures in here but if you use Instagram or Facebook please send me a message and I will share some pictures. (Both accounts have the same name as this channel)

I am just afraid the shipping cost may be too high but definitely something you could discuss with the factory. Here’s their website and contact information

    Hi. I would like to know more about your 12v AC. BTU, Watts, how well it cools and how long it last on that 300 generator?

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  3 роки тому +2

      Hello Edgar ! The 12V cooler works great but needs to be used carefully as it sucks 70 Watts per hour so if you leave it running it can deplete the solar generator (Jackery 300) in about 4 hours. My approach is to plug the cooler twice a day (2 hours maximum per cycle) but only here’s the caveat. I ran once during the day while plugged to the solar panel and once at night. During the day the 100 watts solar panel is capable of charging the Jackery between 50 - 75 watts per hour so, if the cooler is plugged in you don’t deplete nor charge the battery. (Close to net zero situation) Then I unplug the cooler and the system gets fully charged in about 3 / 4 hours. Just keep in mind that’s a cooler not a fridge hence works great to keep beverages, snacks or salads cold. (Before leaving home I place a frozen gel pack inside to help to keep things cold)

      I read your answer. I have been eyeballing these kind of configuarations bc I would love to find a way to reliably have cold items all the time, trouble free, while camping for several days. Here are my thoughts: buy a 12v freezer with a compressor, or even an ordinary very small freezer with a compressor. The compressor goes off and on, saving watts (I am told -- is this true?), unlike thermoelectric freezers which use a lot of electricity.
      Buy a much bigger Jackery or other type of unit. There are many -- 1000w options on Amazon. Then, freeze and keep rotating 20+ of your gel packs to put in an ordinary cooler, and then you have a freezer (and ice maker!!) and a fridge (the cooler). I just hate buying ice -- it gets expensive, drippy, inconvenient, and cumbersome to carry. Thoughts?

    • @WindyTherapy

      @@glendathegoodwitch6987 You’re onto something ! Mine is a cooler and not a fridge or freezer but everything comes down to the wattage. Let’s pretend the one you want is rated at 200W (my cooler is 70W) and you get a Jackery 1000. That means you will have “juice” technically for 5 hours or so without recharging your solar generator. (My point is …. This is the math) For a 1000W Jackery (or similar) I would recommend getting a 200W (or 100W minimum) to recharge your unit during the “idle time”. Using the same math or logic if you get a 200W solar panel you “should” more of less offset the amount of juice coming out (assuming no losses and 100% charging efficiency) which is not realistic but ….. I hope you you get my drift. My 100W Dokio charges my system anywhere from 20 to 80W per hour depending on the sun intensity and exposure.

      Hi Belinda ! The dry weight without my gear (and some of the options) is 380 lbs but fully loaded is around 420-450 lbs. Not an issue when towing with our SUV but with my motorcycle I need to keep it as low as possible.

    Could we get the basic stats? Weight loaded as you have it? Price? Handling? TONGUE WEIGHT? ......

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  3 роки тому

      Hello Jim, welcome aboard! The dry weight as advertised is 300 lbs but with the options I got is more or less around 350 lbs. Adding my gear I am estimating to be close to 400 lbs. The tongue weight (as loaded and shown on my latest video) is about 38 lbs. Tongue weight is the holy grail and something to be mindful about as the recommended range is 10-15% of the total trailer weight. I bought a new unit and with the options was around Can 7,700 (approx USD 5,000) which isn’t too far from other used units I came across. The beauty is the fact they tend to keep their value.
      What kind of bike do you have ?
      As far as handling. Please check my latest video as I talk about this particular point. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers

    Hi, 1st time viewer. Been watching a lot of views. My question is what are you towing it with? What is the smallest scooter you would say would be good for towing? Look at Yamaha Smax or Xmax scooters. For more storage. Looking forward to more views.

      Hi Clayton, welcome aboard ! My bike is a Triumph Trophy SE (1250 cc) and as a rule of thumb is recommended to have a bike with 1000 cc, front disk brakes and weigh at least 600 lbs. (The bike needs to weigh at least double of the trailer gross weight to maintain proper control during towing) The nice part about this trailer is also the fact I can tow it with our family vehicle so it is a two in one camper.
      What kind of motorcycle do you have ?

      @@WindyTherapy I am shopping still. I have health issues. Mostly my heart. I have a mechanical valve, plus my aortic root has been replaced. I miss riding a bike. But would have a hard time handling a larger big. Maybe I should shop for a trike. Or maybe Polaris Spyder.
      My budget is a bigger down fall. Being kicked out of the work force for being a high risk. They just walked me out the door. Cobra out my health insurance. Doctor dragged out doing and surgery until after over a year. In a pickle I had to pull out my 401K with a lot of extra Fees. Just to keep my insurances going. This was all before Obama Care came along. Six month after my aortic repair. My brother Jack dies when his ripped. The doctors did nothing for him. Believing me to think they just didn't care. Only look at it as money not a life. My brother had very high blood pressure. So his aorta just ripped. PS. Eating a hamburger from Wendy's. That day we picked up a trans for my truck. So, I think it was all the heavy lifting. Being be brother and knowing I had heart problems. He didn't tell me. So. No lifting. Keeping it lite.
      So, what does the trail weight?

    • @WindyTherapy
      @WindyTherapy  3 роки тому +1

      I am so sorry to hear about your challenges with the medical system and your brother’s passing.
      The trailer isn’t heavy to roll around (about 350 lbs but on wheels so you can’t feel the weight of it unless you’re trying to go up hill rolling by hand) I have bad knees and I can see this becoming an issue in the future so when the time comes I will trade my bike for a Spider.

      Hello Roger. There isn’t an official “minimum” requirement but based on my experience this will be the minimum: (my bike is definitely in the lower end)
      - 1200 cc
      - Dual front brakes (ABS and rear disk brake is a plus)
      - My bike dry weight is 350 kgs / 780 lbs (More is better and safer)
      - 90 ft-lb of torque (this is my bike’s torque and honestly it is lower than required so it struggles up hill. More torque is definitely better)
      - 130 Hp (however torque is more important than HP)
