Spot on! My fav blues chain: Boss BD2 -> Boss Reverb set to " plate" + Boss DD3 slapback echo -> joyo american sound set to " twin rev" , optional : CS-2 compressor sustainer in front of BD-2 and sometimes a germanium fuzz. Settings are almost the ones you described in your very informative video except I keep unit gain on overdrive. Essential: BD-2 + reverb Thanks so much !
Really useful video. Thanks! My go to pedals are BOSS SD1 for, Aquapuss for delays and a JHS reverb. Can pretty much cover most blues tones with that through a Katana 50
Lot of very interesting information there. I shall have to watch again but I'm very keen on the Eric Clapton " woman " sound and that hollow body guitar. What make is it please ? I have subscribed - this is exactly what I'm looking for , guitars and amp settings for blues. Thanks again.
Great vid .. h😊nest question Whats with guitar you tubers and those rope tube sparkle lights or Christmas style lights … honestly It never was a good idea ever. Ps some great tones !
Well what you hear in the UA-cam video or what you might hear if you plug your guitar and do an amplifier is and probably should be too much treble. And when you play louder, and with a crowd and other instruments, all these things will reduce the amount of treble that you hear and it will come out fine.
Yes, the treble is something to consider. Playing alone it might need turning down but in a mix or on stage the treble may be needed to cut through and be heard.

What's your essential Blues guitar gear?
Love this basic blues set up. Would love to see similar program on blues rock and on blues slide. Thanks so much for such a clear explanation. 😄
Thanks for this video, helps me a lot in getting the correct sound
This video is amazing, explains so much to me about what I have been hearing! I wonder if anyone has done anything like this for blues bass.
You were in the neck position while talking about Stevie Ray Vaughn but when you played it you had the bridge pickup activated. :O
Good video, but a bit confusing in the Steve Ray Vaughan section when you said neck pickup and then proceeded to play off the bridge pickup.

Fantastic explanation, much appreciated
This is a good reference video, so I'm going to save.
This video was so good I watched it twice and saved it for a reference. Thanks!
Great video, thanks. So on a blues gig, does one use a wide range of these tones or just get a good rhythm and a good lead tone for the night?
Great comprehensive review. Well done!

What brand is that ES-335 copy?
Excellent video!
Do you feel the TS 808 has any tonal advantages over the TS9 ?

Jimi Hendryx wasn’t British. He was from Seattle, WA.
You are absolutely right but he had the Marshall gene in is DNA
Wrong. Jimi was from another planet, he just landed in Seattle.
But he lived in England during the Are You Experienced time and obviously played a lot there
P90's no good for blues? Just a beginner asking questions, thanks
