I would like to comment that having a good line in your reel while your practicing will help as the line will tend to do more of what you want (and expect) to help with casting mechanics. I noticed this when I finally upgraded the line on my TFO rod. The quality of line matters... A lot.

The line is your third most important piece of gear.....only behind your leader and your fly.

Are you referring to the weight forward line on the NXT black label? What should I upgrade mine too?

Quick comment on how good the editing is in this video purely for the fact that when Brian was using the clock face to explain the cast the flipped the video so it put it in the right perspective for the viewer. Nice

Literally just got back from flinging dries for our native cutthroat up here in Washington state. Always do awesome late summer and fall here. Almost time for bigger 8wt soon with our fall and winter runs. You guys are awesome and always learn something off the water from you guys. Gonna try nymphing this spring.

I have a request. I have enjoyed your videos but there is a problem, at least for me. I have a wonderful Sage 4 piece 5-6 weight with a WF line. I am practicing increasing casting length in preparation for a Caribbean bone fishing trip. I just got a very nice Orvis 8 weight and find that the casting is entirely different. The speed of the Sage rod makes for a very different feeling and the timing and speed is very different. I would love to have a video that addresses light vs. heavier rod casting tips as well as more discussion about the average distance one can expect when casting, for example, a 5 weight rod. I am at wits end with the Sage at around 63 feet. The Orvis easily hits 75.

I have had no luck coordinating my double haul, the best I seem to be able to manage is a single haul🙄

Nice camera upgrade crew 👍 lighting looks good too and the set fluff. Maybe a little too much fluff but it’s an amazing scene.

I enjoy casting and have a fairly tight loop and accuracy out to 60 feet but am having trouble beyond that. Can you give me some help on getting out to 80 and 100 ft?

I have a question?… I’m new in this way of fishing (fly fishing) and one of the first thing I’m obsessed with is trying to cast long distance. I’m just familiar with backing like and the traditional fly line sinking or floating that is connected most of the times. So the questions is- I just got a shooting line from scientific anglers that I hear is good to archive long distance but I don’t know if this line replace the traditional fly line entirely or it’s just connect a piece of this shooting line after the fly line?
