Back cast into another rod; causing the big one to get away by mishandling the net. Now that's real life fishing and I'm glad you showed it. Many content creators would hide the screw-ups which happen to all of us. To your credit, you showed us the screw-ups. The lessons learned are 1) the slightest miscalculation can lead to a screw-up, 2) maintain a sense of humor when a screw-up happens, and 3) screw-ups can happen to the best of us. 😎

There was a time when I would have been laughed out of my own boat if I ever pulled something like that out of my tackle box! :-) But I fished with a rough bunch. There was one lure in particular back then, called the Cree Duck. It was a hard bait, just sat on top and swam a straight line when retrieved. I guess it was meant as a joke lure - one of the guys bought one just for amusement, but didn't dare to tie it on. But now, with all the realism possible with the soft plastics, those baits look like they score pretty well.
And you still have the best fishing channel on ANYtube!

    Oh Wow,
What a B-E-A-utiful lake. I'd have a hard time getting anything done in such a nice looking area, i'd be too interested in all the nature and critters to notice.
    😄👍

When you caught the rod in the back of the kayak, I did the same thing today LOL.

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one that can be fishing alone and still get tangled up with other poles .

Nice! I just got back from a two-spot run, two shore spots on two different rivers. No pike behind bridge pilings or suspended in front of rip-rap at the big one, two very nice 2.5lb-3lb smallies under the bridge over a trout stream.
Smallies on a light spinning rod, 6lb mono, and a silver Husky Jerk.

Yeah it was good, I’d never caught smallies that far up river there. The Husky Jerks are great for working deeper runs and pools in small rivers for the bigger trout, but today it was a couple of smallies.

I sunk a Joe's fly in my ear last Saturday about 15 minutes into my trip. When he caught his rod, I had a flashback.

What a beautiful lake. I rarely take my yak out now because the only local waterways near me are always packed with bass boats and recreational kayakers. I'd love to have a little secret spot like this to just go out and be alone all day on the lake.
