Thanks for this tips. I’m a 3rd year apprentice in a high voltage apprenticeship but seriously considering going into commercial fire instead. Glad I found your channel.
As a tech of 35 years experience the only thing I disargee with is the need for new techs to splash out for a Fluke meter. You need a decent quality multimeter, don't get a cheap one, ever. But you don't NEED a Fluke.
UEI makes some really nice meters. We use them at my employer as an HVAC tech.
I’d say you hit the nail on the head with basic tools. These are all things I also use in the field. I work mainly residential new construction and installs when customer moves in.
My Kleins wire stripper been going on 4 years not needing a replacement.
Thank you. I start this job tomorrow
Great vid. Thanks for the tips. Thumbs up 👍
The nicet bit was the best piece of advice!
Thank you sir! I start mañana at my job!
Good information.
Ive been a service tech for 5 years lol I only carry cuts, 11-1, phone and meter. tape, tweakers, pens/sharpie/soldering iron, i keep in my shirt pockets. no pouch for me lol
Pink tape…that was a mistake 😂 oh man, I felt that
How do you like the grip with the glows wearing gloves, Are they slippery?
Starting at siemens next month
Not enough keys to start my fire keys, that’s probably the harder part
Fluke is so pricey, I’ll do it though
You probably already bought it, but you don't need Fluke. You just need any good quality multimeter for this work. Cleap will work also, but for the confidence you should at least buy a medium priced meter.
If it’s not Klein it’s not mine.
I started out using Klein tools. Unfortunately, the quality has declined. They are more costly, but it has been my experience that German tools like Knipex, Falco, and Stahlwille are made better. I have Knipex channel locks for example, which are twenty years old, and still do the job well.
