Fire Alarm Help
United States
Приєднався 24 січ 2022
The primary goal of this channel is to help people learn fire alarm and low voltage stuff.
Not everyone has had the privilege of working with someone who cares enough to teach them, not everyone has had a chance to work around someone knowledgeable who even knows what they are doing. This channel is here to help people and help them grow in their fire alarm skillsets. No one knows everything, we are all here to help each other and share what we have been blessed to lean and make money doing.
**Attention Fire Alarm Company’s**
So, on this channel we will not just discuss street brands, however we will do our best to not teach proprietary product knowledge/information. I understand such topics can be a fine line and we will do our best not to cross that line.
If any brand has a problem with a video posted, email me from your work email explaining your concerns and we will simply take down the video.
You can reach me at FireAlarmGuyGettingOverTime@gmail.com

Testing/Resetting a Fire Alarm Pullstation
This guy is so cool, god dam. Thanks for the video
As a tech of 35 years experience the only thing I disargee with is the need for new techs to splash out for a Fluke meter. You need a decent quality multimeter, don't get a cheap one, ever. But you don't NEED a Fluke.
Great vid. Thanks for the tips. Thumbs up 👍
Hi , How long would you advise staying at one company if you want to move up in terms of salary and skils?
Good information.
My Kleins wire stripper been going on 4 years not needing a replacement.
Fluke is so pricey, I’ll do it though
You probably already bought it, but you don't need Fluke. You just need any good quality multimeter for this work. Cleap will work also, but for the confidence you should at least buy a medium priced meter.
Thank you sir! I start mañana at my job!
Hi I am in canada , thanks for your tips you really helped me .
I start tomorrow as a fire alarm tech helper.😎😎
Thanks for this tips. I’m a 3rd year apprentice in a high voltage apprenticeship but seriously considering going into commercial fire instead. Glad I found your channel.
Working as an apprentice now, your videos are definitely helpful
Not enough keys to start my fire keys, that’s probably the harder part
Great content.
Starting at siemens next month
Hi brutha! Hey I just finished school for my electrical technician certification, and was wondering about getting into fire alarm tech career. Where would i apply or what company would be a great starting point? I'm eager to utilize what i've learned and find this industry interesting. I'm in the Houston,Tx area.
Hey are there any courses or licenses that you suggest a beginner fire alarm techs should go for ?
Hell ya good vid man
Going through a bunch of your vids man, I just started as a fire alarm tech a week ago and you're very helpful thanks!
If it’s not Klein it’s not mine.
I started out using Klein tools. Unfortunately, the quality has declined. They are more costly, but it has been my experience that German tools like Knipex, Falco, and Stahlwille are made better. I have Knipex channel locks for example, which are twenty years old, and still do the job well.
Yo we want to see more content! Keep it up.
Keep uploading. Vids are great
The nicet bit was the best piece of advice!
Ive been a service tech for 5 years lol I only carry cuts, 11-1, phone and meter. tape, tweakers, pens/sharpie/soldering iron, i keep in my shirt pockets. no pouch for me lol
Thank you. I start this job tomorrow
Hello lance. I am an alarm tech with 6months and I just finished my fire cert. I am looking for a company . I have been offered Kitchen and as well as regular fire tech. in terms of money and lobar input which do you think is best.
You are underrated
UEI makes some really nice meters. We use them at my employer as an HVAC tech.
How do you like the grip with the glows wearing gloves, Are they slippery?
Hi dear. I’m watching all your videos, very informative. I’m getting ready to start the Fire Alarm System as career. I just start applying for jobs now. I have a question, you said we should collect the keys, how do you get the keys or who supposed to give you the keys 🔑.
Texas ? Bruh, you lost me. I have been in the Fire Life Safety industry since 1989. It's different in California better know what your doing (inspectors). Anyone who take inspectors (or any job titles he mentioned) you will not last. Service is like S.O.F, your deep past the wire, poor intel, limited resources, and you have to same the day. Installators are grunts. Run and shoot surplus aint but a click away. Be cool with the locals. I love this industry.
I’d say you hit the nail on the head with basic tools. These are all things I also use in the field. I work mainly residential new construction and installs when customer moves in.
Pink tape…that was a mistake 😂 oh man, I felt that
Great tip. Like the channel. Good for the industry
Experience beats time any day because not everyone uses there time the same and in some cases longer time creates complacency. And I like to say that practice makes habit because I’ll never be perfect.
What is a nice set?
www.nicet.org/ Nicet is standardized atleast in the United States as THE standard for fire alarm certification nationwide.
I swear I saw this guy save a fish from drowning. He's a good guy
Reminder guys over wire, if you need a loop of wire you double the measurement :)
Comment below and list the basic tools I missed! I’ll start, I forgot sheet rock knife it completely slipped my mind. I put links to most of the stuff in the description.
Yeah the pricing would've been nice to say that pms can make up to 120k, sales people can make up to 200k if they sell their ass off. Designers have cad guys that make 20 an hr...and then the guy who stamps it makes 75k-150k. but pretty spot on 🤘
He's such a good guy. He saved my puppy from a burning building one time.
First.
