Let’s say a fuel truck was inside of their safety zone, the marshaller would hold the wands to form an X - if the pilot wasn’t paying attention to them everyone could die. - Kinda extreme but making it make sense.

Assuming you’re going to be contracted since you have a choice. Personally I would go for ramp agent. There’s a possibility it might not pay as much as fueling would. Although, in the long run; there isn’t much progression as a fueler. Having ramp experience will allow you to get yourself in with real airlines and higher pay. Also being a ramp agent is quite fun and a nice workout. What company and/or airline are you going to be working for?
