Awww! It’s awesome to find community! I love both things too. It’s hard for me to go back to the USA and not move around 😂… hope we run into each other one day!
I really like your house! The view upstairs is nice and the sunshine is great. The doors that you added in the kitchen are really nice and look like they were always there.
So the garrafón holder I bought on the side of the road in a surrounding town, but the other two are from Amazon.. I couldn’t add the link in the comments but I added it to the description.😊
Do you have a specific video on the tips and tricks to find a safe and economical place to rent for a single mom? Would love to watch it!! Thank you for the video.
Great question! All my housing videos in San Cristobal have a bit of info but I don’t think I have one specifically. I will be making a housing video next week. I’ll do my best to include tips in that one!
Hi Karen, I ordered a filter for the shower. Thanks for the suggestion. ❤ Hopefully, I can get rid of the "cotton candy" hair!!! 😮 I will have to leave it behind when I leave for Nicaragua. Stay sweet and stay safe!!! 🙏
In Mexico we have a say/phrase: “I’ll treat you the same way you treat me” (Te trataré según a como me trates).“To receive you must give.” (Hay que dar para recibir). In simple words, you can expect from others what they expect from you, in order to change that expectation you have to show them who you are so others see/treat you as who you are. Also a heads up/tip: in Mexico you have to be emotionally open, expressing emotions it’s cultural if you don’t you can be seen as someone serious/quiet and/or disrespectful.
@@MomonaJourney es por que usted los trata bien, la sociedad mexicana no ve nacionalidad, si usted pone atención el mexicano primero te habla español si ve que no entiendes te habla otro idioma siempre intentando comunicarse. yay, been waiting for this video! what an amazing find! lots of space, 3 bathrooms, nice surroundings with a view and of course excellent price. (the way I found your channel was through Ann and she showed a quick overview of your place). I need to figure out how to get a long term rental while not being a resident. so many of the listings I see on facebook or other websites want to do a credit check and get a co-signer and do all kinds of paperwork that just eliminates them as possibilities for me. I really like the idea of having my own place with my own decor and my own cooking supplies etc rather than always living in air bnbs. the best price I have paid in Mexico is 10500 pesos / month, which in Canadian dollars with the crappy exchange rate now is about $800 a month....
The only time I was asked for anything before signing a lease was when I first moved here and used a agent. Most people don’t require much. But I do have a lawyer just in case.
@@MomonaJourney it could just be the difference between me being in the big city of GDL vs where you are in the "sovereign state" of Chiapas. the Mexican government has been doing a lot in the last couple years to track financial transactions, reduce crime and collect taxes. to do many transactions or purchases you now need an RFC number which only citizens or residents can get. sorry if I missed it in the video but how did you find your place? word of mouth? a sign on the house? some kind of listing?
I wouldn't say to get out of Mexico.. we just need to be educated and show respect.. thats all .. I mean imagine if our parents left the U S when they migrated there in the beginning, we wouldn't have this opportunity to have choices now.. just respect
Once you go thru menopause you won't care about a warm house 😂😂😂 3 days ago we had a street dog follow us home. He's a sweetie and needs to gain ALOT of weight. Bernie doesn't like him 😮😮
Im probably not the right person to answer this. Most of what I spend is directly to people. I Can tell you that neither my rent or any services have gone up (people are not charging more). My bills are only cable and electricity. My electricity did go up but I can’t say it isn’t because my kids forget to turn lights off. I used to pay 400-600 and last bill was 1000. Restaurants have raised prices but by like 10 pesos per item. Seems standard. The most noticeable difference for me is the peso to dollar conversion. The peso is going strong so it took my rent from 450 to 530. It’s great that Mexico’s economy is apparently on the rise. But like I said… not my wheel house… thus why you will probably not see a “how much I spent video” from me 😂. I just know when I go over budget 😂 and in Guatemala I went waaaaaayyyy over budget… same in Miami!
Oh gas was interesting! There was a shortage in natural gas last summer and a 30 gal container went up to 750 pesos. But as soon as it was fixed it went right down.. back to 450-500.
@Borderlinegoldenretriever not that I’ve noticed… even from Walmart they are about the same. Very little increase in 2 years that I’ve been here. But I don’t buy many packaged goods so I’m talking about rice, meat, cheese, dairy…
You are my kind of ppl. I'm going to binge watch your videos. I'm into van life and moving to Mexico.
Best wishes

I was going to say at least $1,000 usd, that's amazing for such a big nice house.
I think it’s worth the 1000 usd… it’s perfect for us

@jalmazanq1 sinceramente yo estoy abierta a una crítica constructiva… como inmigrante Venezolana…
Be polite, be nice with the locals, so people will be nice to you too, many come to Mexico feeling entitled to whatever they do where they come from 👍
What is this in reference of?
Many examples before you most likely.. it's a good start and optimistic energy. It's that outsider mentality that is to be used cautiously
Then those people need to be told to leave if they can't act right in Mexico.
