Cheers from 🇺🇸. Used to race moto as a kid, economy went in the shitter in 2008 and had to stop. Now, I’m about to have my first kid, and I plan on teaching him how to ride (and race if he’d like). Looking at getting the WR as it would be the perfect bike for me.
When I bought mine I thought I was buying a nice plush off-road bike to chase my kids around on their mini bikes. I can’t believe how harsh and rigid the whole bike is on small sharp bumps at slow and high speed. Any tips? I turned the suspension way to the softer side both front and back already and got my tires at 12 psi. And the seat is a disgrace, they might as well stuck a piece of oak under that blue cover. Don’t plan on sitting on it for more than 45 minutes unless you like to feel the burn when you go pee after
I bought a 2024 WR450F also and have the same problem my bike is also so stiff and harsh riding it is not much fun to ride. My research shows that the stock spring rate is set up for a 230 to 250# rider which is BS should be set up for riders in the 165 to 180# rate. I am at 175 to 180# ready to ride.
@@billsharko3007at least I don’t feel like I’m the only one anymore. Thought maybe I was being a wuss since my last real dirt bike was an 08 yz450 and it wasn’t as harsh as this. But in any case if ordered a guts seat with their wide soft foam, will see if that helps. Should be here in a week or so. I would hate to think I need custom suspension on a $13k cdn dirt bike. Just to ride on the farm
@@Amaranthian450 I talked to a couple of bike shops and to redo my suspension they want around $1300.00 I am thinking about selling the bike instead. Very disappointed in the Yamaha WR459F suspension.
Ya I’m probably about 180-190 geared up so I’m in the same boat as you. So with what you’ve found, we would need a softer spring front and back? I’m thinking I could do the front myself, not sure about the rear. I haven’t set sag for my weight yet, maybe that will make a difference. I’ll keep ya posted after I get the seat and sag set
@@billsharko3007 I got my seat. Makes a huge difference in sit down comfort. Also I’ve been out at my gravel pit a couple times hitting some small jumps and flat landing on purpose just trying to get the suspension to ride in a bit. And it has loosened up a little. I’m enjoying my bike a lot more now, just need the gytr ecu so I can tune it down a bit on initial take off, it’s still very abrupt on first throttle
Hey m8 put the white thing out of top of fuel tank u get more in there then don’t know about the 120 ks per tank but u will get 100. Power app tuner can take bog outta it cheers gr8 vid
Very nice, I’m looking at one later in the week. How does it behave compared to a 250F mx bike? I’m riding a KX250F but it’s too snappy for me I want something less aggressive and easier to ride but I don’t want a KLX or something similar I want the power too.
@@davehampton9694 hey mate. I wouldn’t recommend this bike for you if the KX250F is too snappy for you. It’s still a pretty aggressive bike. I’d recommend test riding a 350F enduro bike either gas gas, husky or KTM. Easy to use power but still gets up and goes if you want to ring it out. Hope this helps
@@vinceking7878 yeah just like the yz you can tune it on the ‘power tuning’ app so suit your preference. Overall it’s still a pretty aggressive enduro bike

I picked up a '24 WR uncorked and went with competition ECU. Added a steering damper and some hard bits; awesome bike that can do it all.

Definitely test ride it first. It’s a great Moto bike if you ask me. Way too harsh and rigid for a weekend off-roader.
