- I made a mod for Portal 2 that hurts you when you step on the floor, and beat it in just under 9 hours.

My hypothesis regarding the finale is that when the Aperture Science Emergency Fire Supression System is activated, the floor superheating is also stopped. However, it takes the amount of time required to press the final button for the floor to cool off enough to finally be safe to touch.
i just really want you to do a nature documentary about a wild Chell in her natural habitat, doing some near impossible things and some near impossibly stupid things with the portal gun

@@iceypino1086 You can move the camera when playing back demos. For keyframes and cinematic smoothing, I use Source Auto Record's sar_cam_control feature.

should've had the celeste style death counter when you complete a chapter (Courtesy Call, Cold Boot, Return, Suprise, Escape, Fall, Reunion, Itch, Part Where He Kills You, Credits)
i just realized that (aside from credits) p2 has the same amount of chapters as celeste
I can't imagine how terrible this must have been to set up. Not only did you have to create all of the triggers (which is annoying itself by virtue of being something done in Hammer) but you also had to do whatever you did to get Twitch integration to control how much damage the floors actually do.

There are a few things I didn't quite mention in the video, like how some of the hundreds of attempts later lead to nerfing the respective floors after we collectively deemed it to be bullshit. So if you're playing this yourself and find that the start of Finale 4 doesn't take 200 attempts, or that Ceiling Catapult doesn't feel that draining, here's why.

If the floor is lava, then the lava (in the incinerator) should be floor.
The real question is “HOW THE HELL DOES LAVA GET THROUGH HER BOOTS”

ok, i just finished watching it, also yes, this is my 3rd comment, but honestly, this has been the best video i have ever watched on youtube. i feel soooo bad for PortalRunner as he was streaming, and editing, and even just the upload time. i couldn't even imagine attempting anything like this, so really, big props to you. i do hope this comment gets noticed, despite the vid being 2 years old. once again, huge GG, please, keep making amazing content like this. i will certainly try tune into your next stream on may 10.

How do you change how much damage the lava does to you, when i play it, it instantly kills me every time i touch the floor
As it is now, you have to be pretty darn good at bunny hopping and general Source movement to beat this. If you really want to try and change it, you can open the "floorislava.nut" file and look for anywhere it says "hurtme 20", replacing the 20 with some lower number.

Hey, how are you can doing cinematic in portal 2? Is that plugin?
You can record demos and then drive the camera around. The game does have in-built functionality for that, but for smooth cinematics I use the SAR plugin.

Gelocity. It's a Portal 2 community map that involves lots of gel strafing, which is what I was doing there. There's a competitive leaderboard for that level, and it's kind of an inside joke that you have to be top 3 to do this.
