I am approaching one year from using minoxidil, so far I have gained back 30% of the hair loss in the back, not so much the front, but it is all healthier hair in front now. I started using Propecia as well. Propecia treats your hair from the inside out and minoxidil treats the surface. This doctor is absolutely correct, when men get older, our testosterone gets converted to DHT, which clogs and kills are how hair follicles. Add the two-year mark you should know where your results are going to be. You have to be consistent and be patient. Good luck, it works for me. It’ll work for anyone.
I forgot to mention that you can purchase minoxidil anywhere, Amazon, Costco, etc. Propecia have to be prescribed, any doctor will give you a prescription. Take care.

It’s hard to fit it in 2x a day because you have to wait 4 hours after applying it before touching your head or even showering. I like to do it once a day at night when I’m at home not going anywhere. So when I get off work I’ll shower so my pours are open then apply it on a dry head wait 4 hours I’ll make dinner play some video games watch some tv then at 10pm I’m safe to go to bed. If it’s the weekend and I know I’ll be out doing things later in the day I’ll do it when I wake up wait 4 hours before I shower and then I’m good for the rest of the day.
Buy a foam version of it. It dries pretty quick
maybe it depends on the person. i notice my hair slowly keeps receding when i slack off and use it once a day. whereas if i use it twice, i notice my area density and hair thickness increase. i dont think it’s a placebo effect because the differences are pretty drastic

That will stop hair loss. Minoxidil grows hair but if you dont deal with the hair loss you will always lose it eventually

Minoxidil + derma rolling.
Use dermaroller twice a week and use Minioxidil 5% daily.
Like if you use dermaroller+minioxil on sunday keep applying Minioxidil on monday and Tuesday then on Wednesday use dermaroller and Minioxidil….

Half life affects frequency, but wouldn't you need the same dosage? As in, double the dosage per application to get the same amount?
Probably doing once a day on the first day and twice daily the next day and repeat the cycle is your safe bet.
So if we using 1 time per day wil that be 1mm if it’s topical.

i would suggest you to take dermapen than dermaroller as they're more consistent in evening out those tiny punctures in your scalp. also, you have to use 1mm in order for the dermaroller or dermapen to be effective on your scalp. the general rule is to use minoxidil 24hrs after using a dermaroller or a dermapen to prevent irritations or infections. and use a dermaroller or a dermapen once every three weeks only to get used to it before using it once a week. never do twice or more in a week as it would damage your scalp that could lead to scarring which would make your lose more hair

three times a day is too much man. the reason why it's only prescribed at 5% minoxidil and not higher is bc higher dosage does not equal significant increase in effectiveness. once or twice a day is fine but three is just too much and you'll just throw out money for nothing.
Like anything else after a certain point it wont do anything except increase likelihood of side effects. I use it once a day with 0.5mg of finasteride and its plenty to see results.

You can use it without washing it daily... Just make sure your scalp is clear for Minoxidil penetration... The scalp shouldn't be oily... There shouldn't be build ups, dandruff, Seborrheic dermi or inflammation on your scalp...
I've got one of the weirdest situations.
I had a random area on my head where the hair thinned but didn't fall out entirely and hasn't got worse over the years. When I occasionally use Minoxidil it looks thicker than returns to its state. Figure that unique one out.

I've had great results using it topically at night for 4 months now. I am getting sores/spots/rash though on the crown area. Sadly, in the UK, oral minodoxil is hard to find at an affordable price.

no, higher dosage of minoxidil doesn't equal higher success rate. there's a reason why 5% is the prescribed dosage, bc the higher the dosage you go, the lower the success rate it gives. say for example 5% gives you 65% of success rate to regrow your healthy hair, 6% would only add another 3% or less and 7% would only add even less than that. that's just the example and not the accurate success rate but you get the idea

Minoxidil colour depends on the colour of alcohol/ base... Most of the time it is colourless or yellowish or light brown

It really doesn't matter as long as you're completely covering the area where you want to grow hair.
Don’t use minoxidil…my own experience…during first few months u will notice tremendous hair growth…but once u stop using it, all d hair will fall and d situation s more worse
minoxidil is supposed to turn peach fuzz into permanent hairs. the process takes different amounts of time for everyone and you have to stay consistent for a long time. you also have to come off it slowly to prevent shedding
