I believe it has something to do with Robert Morris. Since he said “While I have committed no crime, I did not use righteous judgment in my actions,”. Then a few days later Robert Morris step down. They were/are both good friends. Morris ministry was introduced in Oak Cliff Bible Church. Tony Evens is a great pastor and I admire him and my respect for him hasn’t changed. We all fall short on way or another.
Wow. I wonder why Dr Evan’s would link up with a false teacher like Morris. Morris has made so many heretical statements about Jesus, tithing, direct revelation from God, etc. No doubt Dr. Evans knows what scripture says about false teachers. It even says don’t eat with them. Like you, I do believe there’s a connection. There are no coincidences.
Mark my word. He messed up, and he messed up big. No big pastor with the level of influence, wealth and dare I say ego like Tony Evans has, is going to just sit down after 40+ yrs. Ive never seen it. It doesn't happen. God forgives, so he's not quitting for fear of God. He's afraid of the back lash his church will recieve, when whatever he did is exposed.
So is that what is important at this point? So focused on what this man's status, influence, and his possessions are. Not even considering that a man of God has fallen or fell into sin and now has step out of the calling of God to get correction. We should not be speculating what it is that Pastor Evans fell too. We should be praying that he restored and his relationship with God is renewed. We should be focused on how we can learn from this and walk closer with God so we too don't fall as he did. I pray that you would see through the lense of the father and humble yourself. Mark these words please.
I just wish that he we would've sat himself down when it happened. We are supposed to be quick to repent and quick to sit ourselves down. Especially as a leader. We are to lead by example. I would sit myself down from the choir if I had a bad attitude, I would not minister because I didn't want to hinder God's anointing by singing that day. We need to have more humility and fear of God. I applaud him for coming forward and sitting himself down. But, this should have happened years ago, not years later.
I get it, but I know God asked me to do something that took me 3 years to do. So I can give grace to it taking time. He's a leader yet he's still a man.
Nothing in his statement gave the impression that he would not be back. He said he was taking time to heal and be restored. Healing and Restoration does not equal finality, on the contrary, it indicates a return- but RETURNING in the RIGHT STATE OF MIND AND HEART. The members and the elders of the church still recognize him as Pastor. Prayers and Love for Dr. T. ♥️🙏
In the attached UA-cam video with Preston and Jackie Perry interviewing Dr. Eric Mason, Dr. Mason said there would be a lot of pastors stepping down and exposed in the near future. I saw this video about a week before pastor Evans stepped down. Also, right after that we heard that Robert Morris stepped down too. I’m prayerful for all repentance because we all are sinful. But James 3:1 says, “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard.” So pastors leading any congregation should repent and step down if they are not following the things that are in scripture. God sees all even when we as humans don’t and He will deal with all of us who profess salvation but are not living according to His word. I hate this for Mr. Evans, the sin (whatever/whomever) it may be, his family, the church, the congregation, and for the blemish it gives to Christianity. It also saddens my heart for the unbelievers that look at the Christian community as just another reason not to believe and have faith. I'm sure whatever the situation it will be exposed in do time, it always has a way of coming out. Then we get to see yet again how ugly and quick people will be ready to throw stones, please people look to scripture (John 8:7-11). But what we should be focusing on is to intercede for our leaders because they need covering just like we do. I have to say that if we would apply all this extra energy into praying for our leaders as we should then I'm sure that the LORD has certain individuals with humility, integrity, and transparency speak with them from whatever was revealed to them, and to wisely approach. And with that being said they're lives are on front street under a Major Magnifying Glass 🔎 😳, whereas ours isn't so it'll behoove us to say less, pray more, and stay humble 🙏 🙌
I'm just going to say when the members of churches sin they look for the pastor to not judge them and hope he will help restore them to good grace with God. My question is "why doesn't the man in the red cap know Tony Evans, especially if his wife does?" Tony is a wonderful teacher and scripture analogist. I am saddened by this. At first I thought the video makers had him mixed up with someone else. My reaction was "not Tony Evans!!"
I know we all will deal with temptation and can fall into sin if we are not staying close to the fire and the Word. Most of these pastors don’t have strong accountability. If this happened a while back you why are you just sitting down now. If he just needed to step away and he plans to come back he could have just sat and did it quietly. I don’t have to know what it was but accountability has to happen. You can’t get comfortable and start thinking it can’t happen to you. I hate to hear this stuff about the leaders but you supposed to follow people as they follow Christ. Ask God for discernment to see what’s going on and pray for these leaders.
From Smart Christian to the very individual who follows scripture. We all fall short of His glory and our righteousness is a horrible as a dead man's order. In that being said, let's acknowledge that we must not cease in prayer for others, pastors, teachers, leaders, worship group, children day care takers and ourselves for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, yetglad Tony Evans stepped down on his own, with out the embarrassing media help. God is good to us always.
God sent the prophet Nathan to confront David, it wasn't publicized, why we have to know everything, he repented, we all need to go and talk about our sins right? Paul said the things he shouldn't do he do, Christ is our way not man!!!
We need to continue to point believers and unbelievers to Christ, He is the standard alone. The rest of us are on a journey. I'm looking at those at the table and Christians in general and know that we are "...working out our salvation..." There are great example of imperfect people - Peter, David, Moses, and the list goes on. Jesus is the standard alone! The rest of us are imperfect works in progress - leaders and preachers included. And no we don't need to know what Tony Evans did or what any member at that table or anyone else did. Tell it to Jesus and who He leads you to share it with. Love covers a multitude of sin.
🤣🤣🤣 SELF RIGHTEOUS, church folks. If God spoke to him to step down 👇 and he obey God's voice, its nobody's business 💯 Obedience is better than sacrifice 💯 he did the right thing or God will expose him public 💯 people get your own affairs and house 🏠 in order instead of focusing on Tony Evans, trying to find out what sin he committed 😮 ALL have SINNED and come short of God's glory 💯 it's a wake up call for the body of Christ to get their acts together 💯 or God will expose them in the open 💯 some Christians still dealing with addictions or demons 👿 within themselves and need to be delivered 💯 some have generational curses that's been in their bloodline for generations and need to be broken 💯 do yourself a self examination first.

Tony Evans elders advised him to step down, it wasn’t his decision 😮😮
How'd you know that!
I'm looking at those at the table and Christians in general and know that we are "...working out our salvation..."
There are great example of imperfect people - Peter, David, Moses, and the list goes on.
@@linegrant4605 God is not asking any of these men to step, he never set them up in the first place. They all need to repent and give up these buildings, the only reason you’re a mega church is because you’ve compromised the word
@@linegrant4605 Too many emojis to read.
I want to be as respectful as I possibly can here but when are we as black people going to wake up and evolve. Has anyone ever considered that this man was just tired and burned out and wanted out of the whole game of religion. Check out Dr. Walter Williams: Origins of Christianity.
There are some members of the who will accompany their Pastors to hell. God is judging His church right now and they stand between God and Tony Evans
When we find out Tony Evan’s is a homosexual this nice talk you all talk of will end
Does one admitted fall mean you can't get back up? If you measure this one fall against ALLLLLLL of the good he has done for 48 years, how does he fair?
