  • Learn to slowly sew a 5/8 inch seam, the standard seam allowance and one of the first steps in starting to sew. First, find your measurement marker and run the edge of your fabric along that line. Once you've put in your fabric, do a back stitch and begin to sew in a straight line.     All machines have a stitch width. Not just used for zig zag stitch. Either use your stitch width or move your needle right or left. Place fabric under foot of machine, fabric will match to the foot edge and begin to see, this will be a 5/8 inch seam.

    I wish you would have it strait on and not at an angle, frustrating.
