We have one artificial mountain in Latvia. The hill is called "Lemberg's hat" because this project was started by Ventspils mayor Aivars Lembergs. The project was started shortly before 2005. - the city needed an area where construction debris can be dumped, and for that they chose an environment-degrading place not too far from the sea. Next, the idea arose that in that place, sand should be poured on top of the construction debris, etc. as a result of 2015 the mountain was 58 meters above sea level, now the mountain has become higher and wider - they also made a small ski track - as far as I know, the descent is 240m long and in 2023. the largest toboggan track in Northern Europe was opened there - the total length of the toboggan track is 800m.
Currently, the mountain continues to be raised every year and it has also become wider - another interesting fact is that this artificial mountain has become the 11th highest peak in the Baltic States (please do not confuse with height above sea level, but from the base of the land on which the mountain begins first steps). Currently, there is information from the city government that the mountain will continue to be raised and, therefore, the height and length of the toboggan track will be increased. There are even written requests from local residents to raise the mountain to at least 500m above sea level, achieving the fact that it is the first mountain in the Baltic States that would have reached the mark of an official mountain in the entire Baltic and its height must reach at least 500m to be officially recognized as a mountain and not the hill
Here is a link so you can see pictures and a gallery of this artificial hill in Latvia.

This is high quality content, why isn't it getting views?
Im asking this myself maybe because of his East European accent
National Security Agency Exactly which country? Do you know?
Though some people remark about the accent, I am not from Eastern Europe. lol
CuriousReason what country are you from?
@@davidvasic5608 these subject have been done by other channels already
Nothing is more human than building a mountain out of plastic
I found this channel several months ago and subbed, but completely forgot about it. I only now remember this channel existed while looking through my subscriptions list. Clicked the bell button now so I don't forget anymore. Great Stuff!
Thanks :) ramping up production now.
Good decision.
This is no bullshit. I'm from this creasy country. And this was a real plan. For tourist and we wanted to ski without travelling to Austria.
Amazing video! Great visuals!
Glad you enjoyed it
I also just today thought about using plastics for building artificial mountains.🙂
Wow, ramping up production. Hopefully, you will therefore attract more attention.
New video is coming up in couple of days :)
@@CuriousReason Cool! I can't wait!
Just give it 1 more year...
Holy f I actually dreamed of building an artificial mountain in our little country
Cool, never heard of this. 👍🏻
I love UA-cam video’s. You are a very skilled editor and make great video’s
Thank you so much 🤗
Yup. I would gladly see a tutorial made by him.
i wonder what kind of weird chemistry billions of tons of plastics crushed under extreme pressure would produce? It's not hard to imagine it would not be good.
Sorry to tell you that, but the channel in the comments that spams "loved it" is a bot :/ But I genuinely hope you will get more views some day, when the YT algorithm will smile to you.
Ohh got baited. Thank you :)
Yes I have those too :)
Hell yeah I'd like a fucking mountain where I live, it's just so flat it's boring!!!
Bruh i'm still waiting for your channel to blow up
share it
in latvia they are slowly making a mointain with garbage and dirt i forgot maybe aslo rocks
They should start building an 800M mountain. Why this height? That's the tallest mountain you'll ever need for the Winter Olympic's scariest and most impressive event, the Downhill! They should do it like that Danish power station by building industrial factories underneath and covering it with a natural roof of grass and plants...
Also 800M is LESS than the height of the Burj Khallifa which shows it's WELL within the zone of possibility of existing tech and economic scope...
Another great video. Feel free to reach out if you ever need a writer for these scripts ;)
:)
They must really want to feel high.
Commenting for the algorithm.
feasibility is time and money (manpower resources) - nothing more.
bro said bitches
He has more vids coming up
yup
here at 8k subs
this puts a smile on my face
I never understood how the hell Netherlands afford to keep 18 millions people in such a small territory and pay the 4k .
We are just jalous not having an mountain
My country doesn't have big mountains too :( Max is like 1km. :)
@@InterestingExplained always nice when you dont tell wich country

Of course. I look up "building an artificial mountain" after getting deep into navel-gazing over climate modification ideas, and you already have a video on it.

A Plastic mountain in the Netherlands. Hmm. Why not rather build a heavy mountain off the coast of the Netherlands, say somewhere in Doggerland? That might solve the isostatic problem and actually raise the rest of the Netherlands.
Where are you from? Really can't decipher the accent
You meant beaches. Not b...
Source? I'm Dutch and i never ever heard about this.

These videos are great and very interesting. I really like the subjects and the conclusions you reach.
For some constructive feedback, I believe two things are lacking to really make this channel explode and gain the traction and recognition it deserves.
1. Unfortunately, your accent and delivery is very difficult to understand, almost incomprehensible. You have a very very heavy non-english-speaker accent, you speak very fast, you merge lots of words together, your plosives are weakened (something common in what sounds like german or slavic language background), and the use of a very heavy "wuh" sound instead of "v" (Whery instead of very, for ex.), makes the delivery quite difficult to comprehend, and as a result, to follow. For this reason, it may be helpful to take some diction classes, speak slower, or get a native english speaker to record your audio. With better sound quality, it is easier to listen (especially science-based videos which are inherently fact-heavy), and more interesting to follow. With more interest, I think listening and subscription counts could go up if the quality goes up.
2. Cite your sources. Since you are presenting lots of technical information, it's important to cite your research, to give even more value and weight to your content.
Txs for listening.
Cheers and good work!
we're running out of sand??? how??
Due to construction activities all around the world.and by sand he means river sand.. not desert sand
@@clashroyalechampion so i know nothing about construction so i had to google it and apparently using desert sand is not only better it only has half the carbon footprint... you learn something new everyday... bottom line is that we're not running out of sand (we'll run out of water before we run out of sand)
@@dunhillsupramk3 prove it by building your house with desert sand and live in it.then we can talk
