I don’t get it. Your canon, Sony, Nikon, etc has the ability to be viewed as a webcam without the need of the cam link capture card.

hmmm i was wondering what model canons have hdmi cables as opposed to mini usb A (for instance im using canon 1000D's) - or is that just an additional adapater as well as the camlink?

I get what you're saying, but using a capture card like the Cam Link 4K really boosts the quality. Without it, the camera can work as a webcam, but the image quality might not be as good. With Cam Link 4K, you get awesome quality at 1080p60 or even 4K, making your stream look super professional. Plus, it’s super fast and easy to set up on any platform. Another cool thing is you don't have to worry about running out of memory card space because everything records straight to your hard drive. No more bad shots during editing either!

@@jamesblack7922 Good question! A lot of the newer Canon models, like the EOS M50 or the EOS R series, come with HDMI ports. Your Canon 1000D uses mini USB, so you'd need an HDMI adapter to make it work with the Cam Link 4K. Basically, you'd need both the adapter and the Cam Link to get that awesome quality.
