Best Backdrops for Your Photo Booth Business

- In this video I'm sharing with you some of my most popular and backdrops AND what I recommend new Photo Booth owners do when purchasing backdrops for their business.
Every business is different and everyone's needs are different, but when you're just starting out, don't feel like you have to buy dozens of backdrops right away. Depending on your target market and client, you may only need to start off with a few. I'm very very happy with the backdrops that I've purchased; many of which have been used multiple times without any issue.

*Reminder that the atlas stand is 8ft wide and 7.5" tall
If you have this stand, any backdrop that you purchase that doesn't fit these specific parameters will need to be upgraded to an 8x8. I have found this to not work in some smaller buildings/home events personally.

Thank you for the recommendations. If you have an Atlas stand and not using it with the extension to make it a true 8x8 and ordering from us at pbbackdrops please just let us know the size in the note. The correct size of the atlas stand without the extensions in is 2438x2286. If utilizing our stands and want to use pole pocket style drops you just need to remove the center pole which takes about 30 seconds. Happy to help anytime. Thanks again for this great video.

Hi Nicole. I'm stuck trying to decide between the 7.6x7.6 and the 8x8 from PBBackdrops. If I were to get the 8x8, could I hang the sequin backdrop you mentioned on it without it looking wrong? Or would I need to get a separate backdrop for the sequin? Just trying to avoid needed to buy 2 backdrop stands.
Great question. If I could go back I would get the 7.6x7.6 because there have been some venues where I couldn’t fit my 8x8.
As far as hanging the sequin, you can absolutely do that on that frame! Many have done that. You might see the frame on the sides but it’s not a huge deal.

No but that’s an easy answer, you can get them on Amazon and you can hang them with fishing line and s hooks!
I've been told to make sure that they're dimmable. I'm not sure if that's still matters but I think it probably would.

I actually use the pillow top blackout curtain from PBBackdrops and clamp it onto my adjustable stands

I have a question about how you set up your sequin backdrops showing light through if theirs reflections behind you such as a window etc. You mentioning coupling it with your blackout backdrop to avoid this. Are you using an atlas stand with blackout backdrop, and then just tossing over a sequin backdrop and clamping it that way? Sorry if this has been mentioned but just making sure as it's a great idea. Can you please link me to any of this if possible? Thank you.
Hey! No I link the backdrop frame that I use for sequins in the description. You definitely can use the atlas frame if you wanted, I just don’t like to because I like to have the folds in my sequin backdrops and while you could do that with the atlas, the sides of the frame would be exposed and I’m not a fan of that look. But that’s definitely personal preference.

Do you ever need to use a handheld steamer to get any wrinkles out of either the PB or PBSO backdrops?
Great question! I purchased one in the beginning and never used it. If I find that my backdrop has been stretched out, I’ll wash it in a gentle cycle and hang it to dry. Then it’s back to its original shape and when you zip it, it’ll be super tight. Worst case scenario I’ll bring clamps that I can pull back the backdrop and clamp it around the poles to make it tighter. I haven’t needed to do that at all lately tho.

Yup! Just make sure you order the true 8x8 size (you’ll pay extra for that)
What do you recommend 7'6"or 8" backdrop and another question how do you wash or clean your Sequin backdrop since they do get stepped on a lot at certain events.
Depends, I had to get 8x8 backdrops because of the stand I started with. If I could do it again I’d go with 7.6x7.6

Would you recommend getting one sided backdrops? Maybe using the plain side as a backdrop as well
You could use the white back of the backdrop if you’d like! Just make sure you get a blackout curtain
I have a 70 inch photo booth photo mirror what size backdrop would you recommend I start with as far as like a backdrop stand size?
Either the 7.6" or the 8' ones will be perfect. The standard sizing is truly perfect for every style of photo booth

I’m just starting out. How many stands will I need and what type? I purchased the essentials package. I’m so overwhelmed at which backdrop starters. I was thinking floral (so expensive but on sale), sequins, and solid white for my glam
You can start with a pillow top backdrop and a sequin backdrop! That’s what I have and it’s worked perfectly. If you’re wanting to have flower walls though, you’ll need a much heavier duty stand
Nicole thank you so much for making this video. I'm surprised you didn't mention the most famous backdrop of all the champagne sparkle. Lol. Just one thing I would add to this video is to keep in mind that like you said less is more but one reason why would be most of the colors and design will be in the digital and print portion of the output. So if you have a backdrop that's super busy or super specific often it's not going to match the design you made. Keeping the backdrops simple will allow them to match your designs whether it's a corporate or a wedding event. I love your Facebook group by the way! Hi Nicole, your rainbow sequins on your website has a slightly blue tint, the one you have linked looks more silver…which is more accurate?

Thank you for the info! Question, if you buy a one-sided pillow top backdrop, do you think we can use the back of the backdrop as a white backdrop? Or do we have to purchase a white backdrop separately?
Great question. I did do that for a while, and then eventually went with an all white one because I found if I was at an event and God forbid I dropped the backdrop on the floor and it got dirty, I could flip it around and no one would know haha
But I would suggest if you do decide to get a print on the other side, make sure you have a blackout curtain, because any light behind it will have the design show thru.
I bought the 8x8 frame. Will the 8x8 backdrops work or do i need a bigger backdrop?
Your backdrop should be the same as the frame!

I like to clean mine for every event. I wash it at home with a clear detergent on gentle cycle and hang it to dry
Can I use Clorox for the white ones?
What about AI/ green screen backgrounds? One of the first backdrops I purchased was a green screen. What are your thoughts?
They’re really fun! I know a lot of corporate companies enjoy the creativity that comes with green screen. Definitely takes practice to get the lighting right.
Would you recommend a shiny or matte silver back drop
I personally prefer the matte!

Just confirming…the 8x8 from PB fits the 8x7.5 Atlas okay?
Yup. You’ll use the extenders available on the atlas to make it 8x8 and fit the backdrops.
How to prevent people from leaning or stepping on white backdrop. Ty
There’s a product called a wall prop that you can Google and use. But you can always mark a spot on the floor and ask guests to stand there

Hi Nicole, Is there a significant diference on having the atlas that doesn't have the middle support pole vs pb that does have it? How flimsby are the backdrops, have you had to weigh down the feet at any time? THANKS!
