    Ora looks very similar to my first borzoi, Sasha. I got her in 2008. She was really a challenge! OMG !! I could tell many stories! A month ago I got Elsa. She is an adult and 3 years. She is the opposite of Sasha. She is independent, careful, kind - an absolutely amazing dog! I'm so glad I decided to give her a new home! I have now seen all your 29 movie clips! Very entertaining and educational. With my bad English and some help from google, I wish you the best of luck! Best regards from Elsa and Pia in Norway :-)

    Puppies are allowed to start coming to the daycare I work at at 4 months, so it always seems like we have two months to fall in love with them and then they turn into little devils 😂

    OK, I just re-watched this. Arlo has found his bark!!! He started a few days ago and was woofing at me when I sat down for dinner. We'd just finished our long night walk and he'd had dinner. I put him outside for a few minutes (I have a very small courtyard). After the time out, I spent 5 mins just doing some very simple training inside, with treats. Then I went out to play with him and after a minute he went back in and is currently shredding one of his toys...yay! Eeeeee....

    Thank you for these videos-I’ve been watching for months. I love your beautiful girls! I’m excited because after years of wanting a borzoi to add to our family/pack (I have a greyhound girl now), I’ll be bringing home a boy borzoi pup by the end of this month. Its sneaking up on me! So I’ll probably go back and rewatch your earlier videos again for tips, but if you needed an idea for a video, I would love one with all the beginner stuff I should have on hand, and tips for those first days/weeks, so it’s all in one video-I’m realizing I’m not sure what size martingale & tag collar to get, what kind of brush, what size crate, and other things. Guess I’ll figure it out. :) ...Thank you again!

      Amazing! I'll work on this and try to get it up next week for you (my earlier vids do cover this, but it's sorta spread out).

      Thank you-it’s much appreciated. I’m hoping my girl will bond with him as well as your two girls have bonded. She has a dominant streak. I know the next several weeks/months will be a lot of work. Your videos help a lot. Thanks again. :)

    Thank you so much for these videos! I always have wanted a Borzoi and maybe I can make my dream come true! Also I have a question are they friendly around other smaller dogs?

    • @esperborzoi
      @esperborzoi  4 роки тому

      Borzois have a very strong prey instinct, so you have to be careful around small animals of any kind. I've done a few videos about this as well - both Esper and Ora adore little pups, and I've made it a point to acclimate them to smaller animals as much as I could.

    Hello, My name is Ganchimeg and I'm from Mongolia. I loves sighthounds and I'm planning to have one. I love your videos and advices. Can you make a video about Salukis? Please?

    • @esperborzoi
      @esperborzoi  4 роки тому

      Hey Ganchimeg! Unfortunately I've never had any personal experience with Salukis, so I wouldn't feel comfortable making a video about them other than basic information available on the web.

    Hi, I really like your videos, thank you so much for sharing) We have a silken puppy, who is like 7,5 month now and I just wanted to ask about your experience with leash walking at this age. He was so good before and now there are only 2 modes now - "I'm totally near you and walking by" and another one "I don't give a damn about you, i just pull like a bull" (( Did you face smth similar?

    would you recommend borzoi's as a first time dog? While I was doing my research on borzois most websites recommend other types of dogs like golden retrievers or Labradors compared to a borzoi as a 'first time dog owner' level pet, the reasoning being that they can be stubborn and sometimes aloof when training. despite this would you still recommend them if someone like me has no prior dog-ownership-experience?

    • @esperborzoi
      @esperborzoi  4 роки тому +1

      That's a great question, and it will depend on what your situation is and how much time you can allocate to training, etc... I've gone through a lot of what it's like to own a borzoi on my previous videos, but feel free to ask any specific questions. Borzois are not difficult, insofar as their intelligence level, it's more of a mentality that all sighthounds have and the aloofness is very real- at times they only do what they want to do. That said, if you have a home with ample space for them in the yard (or access to dog parks for daily exercise), a living situation that allows for a large dog, and you are wiling to be both consistent and persistent in their training you might do just fine.
