As someone who lives on the coast where the humidity is just about always above 50% this was literally one of the only helpful things I could find thanks bro
No worries bud. Glad you liked
That’s my issue during the day it’s good 30-45 % but night goes up to 60% with two dehumidifiers on
Thanks for the sock trick, that helped enough for my python. I live in Houston Texas so we have super high humidity and every python video is about how to increase and none were helpful on decreasing.
Glad it helped
Dustin S I’m about to try it with my bearded dragon. I live outside of Houston and the suffering is real.
@@TheOtomeBug bro i live in houston and i’m about to get one what did y’all do
Also in Houston and my humidity is always at 50% in his tank. nothings been helping so far so i'm hoping this will do it!
4-27-2024 Camping in Arkansas, USA. Huge rain storms this week. Have the camper a/c on but humidity is still 65%. Will try the rice trick. Thanks!
Probably saved my beardies butt! In my city its been raining for 3 days and regardless of anyithing I did, it spiked at 70+. Had a hunch my enclosure lid had too little ventilation so I just unscrewed it and put on some mesh. Hit 50 within a half hour. Just moved the water bowl and bam! 40%. Gonna grab some rice in the morning and see how much it drops. Lil Ghidorah's been doing fantastic all things considered.
Amazing new... And well done for keeping a close eye on the humidity
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS My eyes have been laser focused on the hygrometer since my fam surprised me with the dude. Unrelated, the original uvb bulb that came with the kit exploded due to a wiring defect tuesday afternoon. Thank goodness the mesh was super thin and cought the pieces...and i wonder why im paranoid lol.
Ohhh the rice was a good idea, that wouldn’t have crossed my mind to do 🙂
i was sceptical when i first heard of it but i figured id try it.
i was sceptical when i first heard of it but i figured id try it.
Wow! Exactly what I was looking for! You can use a dehumidifier in the tank. I got Eva dry from American Amazon. I live in Japan and the humidity gets over 80% during summer and rainy season. I tried something new every few days .... Found that instead of using a mesh top, it's better to cover the top or have a closed enclosure and put a dehumidifier in. If the humidity is coming from the outside of the tank ofcourse!
Thank you ❤ it's stupidly humid in Michigan and I was worried the humidity would be in the 70% range but now it's down to 38%
Great vid thanks mate... As a newbie I got spanked by petship. They setup what they said was everything I needed... So took home the viv cabinet and 8 wk old beardie.....she isn't eating... Maybe 3 crickets a day and i found out they misadvised as I didn't have a basking light or stone or any measurer except a single thermometer for ceramic bulb.
24 hrs ago I installed a basking, stone, thermo and hydro monitoring on both sides and temps are great... Hot side humidity is 45%... And done all your advise..except cutting more holes.
Im in UK... Newcastle so same climate as you have... So just checking nothing else needs prepping before I cut.. (room is higher than 45 so I'd have thought it would get worse)
Vet I just went to,who is bearded dragon expert said make it as dry as you can down to 10%-20%
So even at 30% I need these tips
Never thought of the water dish being on the hot side, moving it to the cold side and I ventilated the tank as well and that helped so thank you!
ahhh im dead happy to help. i had the same issues when i first got my beardie ... thanks for watching
Thanks for the sock tip, I've swapped my sock with snooker balls in it, with rice and put it in Viv!
I'm going to try adding a large dry stick or two, that should act like the rice.
This helped so much! I have a bearded dragon and I didn’t know why the humidity was so high so I did the sock and ventalation trick and noticed improvement right away
Just going to send this to my friend with beardies
its simply things ive learnt along the way but also good little hints for any species that needs a lower humidity
NORTHERN EXOTICS yeah I was struggling with that with my leopard gecko so I changed substrates
unfortunately I live in Florida where it's naturally humid outside and so it is inside, and I have two Turtle tanks in the same room (open tops). So even with ventilation, the humidity is still at 60%. Now I'm looking at dehumidifiers to see if that works. I don't have a Beardie yet but I'm trying to get the enclosure's humidity down before I get one.
Me
Too, i have had my hognose snake n leopard gecko n no matter what i cant get it lower then 63%. I even tried a dehumidifier and it just did not help. I have had them a few years n they have had no issues. So idk.
@@Legenkilla the only thing that has worked for me so far is a large dehumidifier that dehumidifies the entire room combined with lots of ventilation in the enclosure and the heat lamp. I tried the small dehumidifiers like eva dry but none of them did anything.
@@VincentStevenStudio yea. My snake has been fine. Have had him around 3 years he eats perfectly sheds perfectly its my leopard gecko that gets shed stuck and more him i worry about . My hoggie seems versatile
"Some you yanks call a yard sale" LOL But I was having a hard time with my enclosure being around the 50-60 area. I live in PA, and the humidity here rarely drops below %60. So I bought a dehumidifier (a cheap one for like $20 from Amazon) and that seemed to help. Can't wait to try the rice trick!
Takes a few days to start showing results but does work
thanks! who knew moving my water bowl to the cooler side could help it get like 3 degrees lower
I made a mesh top lid for my beardies.. Good for control
Keep in mind if the UVB is ontop of the mesh it'll reduce the UVI by upto 35%
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS yep thanks, i use a arcadia14% H/O uvb.. Great strong uvb coverage
I love the new reptile systems T5 illuminator . It's a 12% and a 6% so you can set the 6 to come on 15 mins before the 12 to replecate a sunset and sunrise
Thank you for the video! Much appreciated and very informal. Something I do is put salt in a few coffee filters and put it in the enclosure. After a few days, the salt will begin to clump together bc of the moisture.
I'm having a hard time keeping humidity down because of living in Florida, I can't drill holes because it's a glass tank but the entire top is mesh. I'm gonna try the sock method and switching out my reptile carpet to see if that helps.
Good luck
I’m having the exact same issue. If you can, please tell me if this helped!
Same! Tell me if it helped too
I’m having this exact problem and I live in the same state, what did you do in the end??? I’d really appreciate a response:)
If your humidity is coming from outside the tank, you can try having a clear plastic lid screwed in and puting a Eva dry dehumidifier in there. That's what I did for my leopard gecko. It's not enough where I live so i also use dry substrate, small water bowl, and caves that don't hold moisture and rice sock ect
I'm definitely going to try the sock method, it's currently at 42%, and goes up to 45%-46% occasionally.
Living in tropical area keeping the humidity right for my beardies is very hard. Thanks for your tips, i can maintain it at 40-50%. The only problem is when the rainy season starts. Humidity will be up to 60-80%
I want to see the substrate debate video! This video was great, I want to learn more
thank you so much !! mine was at 60 and thank god i got it to 30 😂❤️
Amazing! Amazing how often humidity is overlooked
hopeless bitch lol mine needs to be at 60% but it keeps running to 80%
How did you get it down ?
How’d you get it down my is at 60 too, idk what to do
Spicy Bread i just got like 10 socks n filled em w rice, also moved the water dish to the cool side
Y’all my tank is at 70% and I’m getting the bearded dragon in a couple days. None of these would be enough. Can someone please help me. Should I get a dehumidifier and if I do should it be in that cage? And link which ones work?
Add more vents
Don’t get a beardie still you’ve fixed it.
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS how do u add vents to a 40 gl glass tank. We have no top on it its fully opened

Yep that is what l was going to say more vents, all great ideas.
thanks for watching. if you know of any other ways feel free to add them in
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS l have some pretty cruisy snakes here so sometmes l can just open their doors and let the humidity drop but l do have a dehumidifier that l can use but l dont have a Beardie only snakes to worry about and they all manage within the range of each other with humidity.
I love your setup.
I literally got my bearded dragon a few hours ago I thought a tank that comes with all the basic essential, bough an extra rock for him to climb on , humidity is around 55 right now trying to get it down , but it's also raining right now so I hopefully it goes down after it stops and drys up outside , also I have a water bowl in there I think I will take it out in the morning ,any names suggestions for my bearded dragon? It's a fancy bearded dragon
I'd love to see pictures @northernexoticsuk Instagram. Have to see him to make names haha
Thanks my guy!! Just got a gecko and we live in a somewhat humid place; Hopefully the sock works well for us!!!
My son just got a bearded dragon and here in upstate ny the summers get very humid. I was thinking of adding diatomaceous earth to the mix, do you think it’d help reduce it from 60+% humidity? I also considered adding usb powered fans to help circulation
My tank is an all glass tank except for the top. How can I reduce the humidity a significant amount of I’m not able to drill more holes?
What's the top of that tank made off?
Hey dude I just got my bearded dragon and in the mornings I have it on 35% and in the night its on 55% is that good?
Very Good Info. Thank you Thank you. Your video is making one beardie Very happy👍
That's all that matters. As long as my videos help at least one animal then I'm a happy man
I live on the gulfcoast and the tank humidity is way too high! 80% at night and 50% during the day, I have no sub straight.. just paper towel (easy clean up every time there is a mess), have you heard of putting a portable dehumidifier in your tank? Ill make the rice thing now.
Good luck
i'm having problems with the temperatures and would really like to know how to up the temperature and lower the humidity
Higher wattage bulb with a thermostat
The reptile store told me my beardies humidity should be 0-10%
We love in North America in California and right now her humidy is 40%
But she had a respitory infection right now so I'm upping her heat and was told to lower the humidity
is it ok to buy a bearded dragon when the humidity is at 48? it is still lowering?
I'd say yes. Keep in mind in the wild they have humidity spikes when there is flash thunder and rain storms. It adds a bit of enrichment every now and then just aim to have the correct hummidity most of the time
Hi,,ive got a bioactive set up for a Cameleon which ive just finished planting but no Cameleon yet, however i can't get the humidity right.
I mist for 1 min in the morning but the humidity is around 70-80% in the afternoon and rising to 90-99% when the lights go off and temp drops to night time.
Its a glass enclosure with mesh top and 4" of mesh on both sides from top to bottom, ive also got 2 x 80mm fans for air circulation .ant help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Background is amazing any tips how to make as she tries climbing the sides sometimes tanks 4ft
Just use a fan it works perfectly my leopard geko tank was at 50 and it went down with a fan to at least 30
The problems with a fan you have to think about alot more. Like draft shelter spots where the animal can get out of draft spots. Keep in mind these are cold blooded species . With a fan you create a wind chill factor so temps will not be correct. They will read on an ir as ok but they can't take the chill factor into account . The risk of pneumonia is far to great for me to use a fan. Ontop of that if your using a bulb to heat up the enclosure you also risk miss matched light. The uva, uvb,ir and ultra violet will be all over the place
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS Thats not entirely true fans can really work I have an Infinity fan for my bearded dragon's cage with a speed of controler, which allows me to control the speed of the fan keeping the wind chill down. I place my fan in the corner part of my 40 gallon terrarium on top of the screen and it brought my Humidity down from 60⁰ to 45⁰ in two days. And yes I have a lot of humidity gauges throughout my terrarium and I check her temperatures every morning evening and at night. Everyone doesn't have a wood enclosure to drill into such as you. But It has not affected the temperatures or on her basking area, her uvb Ray's or any of the things that you have mentioned above. That fan will only affect the UVB rays if its place in the absolute wrong spot, I have tried every trick all the way down to the rice soaks which worked a little as I knew it would and a small dehumidifier etc nothing worked until I got this fan. I have done hella research on the pro and cons. It's been over a month and still no issues with her humidity or her temps. On days that is really humid I turn the fan up and on not so humid days I turn it down low. It keeps that stagnant air moving. At first when I was looking for solutions to fix this when I saw someone else comment about getting a fan and you told them not to get one because it can cause other issues and I was like I don't want to risk any other issues but I had no other choice but to go in this route and it had been the best decision that I have ever made my baby is thriving and there has been no issues with her temperature or it being too cold for her. It really does work if placed right!
@@wiz4214 what are you going to do when you have to get a bigger cage for your beard once it's not a baby? 40 gallons is only good for so long 😕, like a cpl of months. Sounds like you tried to do a lot of work but you have to figure everything out again pretty soon when youre guy is like 7/8 months and he gets larger. Are you living somewhere tropical to have such high humidity numbers? I have never heard someone complain of them being that high? I'm in Michigan so I have never had mine above 50 and that was when I got my zen 4x2x2 and added the CocoCoir into my topsoil and plays and mix since it can hike up humidity. Had to redo my lighting since I redid the tank and had a much higher basking spot but the lighting seemed to have fixed it.is it possible your hydro/therm is incorrect? Anyways , good luck
@@keyanddracaryskillua6187 Wow I love the fact you came at me like I don't know what I'm doing. SO let me read you.... Tank size depends on your dragon not your opinions! I too was a part of the trend for bigger housing when it comes to bearded dragons and my mind quickly change from my own experience. Some dragons don't like large housing and some do. The fact that you said "what are you going to do when she needs a bigger cage when it's not a baby" I couldn't do anything but lmao. What do you mean ???? if my dragon preferred something larger I will get them something larger no issues, problem solved 😆 also no I do not stay in a "tropical place", I stay in the south and my fan situation is working perfectly on top of my nee dehumidifier. I don't have to run my fan on high or as much, she has no issues with her humidity anymore. So you don't have to be in a different climate to have different humidity levels on top of a changing climate. So again, nothing wrong with all four of digital/bluetooth humidifiers from grovee. To say that "I tried" like I'm still struggling present-day is laughable. Or to imply like I couldn't afford to get a bigger enclosure like dude... I had hiccups along the way but I did hella research that was necessary for the health of my baby. And she's living her best life present day. I don't know about you but my baby stays in her tank for her necessary UVB before and after meals but she gets a natural UVB outside of her T5 uvb and in Natural sunlight and heat everyday. I'm a work from home artist so I can do this.
Thank you kindly for your unwanted opinions and concerns. I think I got this 👍...
i live in los angeles humidity shouldn't be a problem for me rite ?
I just got mine today and the humidity is at 60% in his enclosure its glass with a mesh top and i cant seem to get it to drop i took the water bowl completely out and still no luck its a juvenile so i dont want to potentially harm it any ideas?
It can take upto 3 days for humidity to start reducing
NORTHERN EXOTICS I’m having this exact same problem, same tank set up, percentage and all. Is there any more advice cause I’m in the same boat of not wanting to hurt mine not doing anything
Get a dehumidifier...
Good job.
Cheers buddy
Good vid, nice and enthusiastic :)
1st question: what substrate is that?
Ok, we are complete beardie newbies. We have purchased the vivexotic large which is 115cm (L) x 42cm (H) x 37cm (D) - I know it's far too small for a full size beardie, but this viv will be replaced in Feb/March with a much bigger 5ft (or 6ft) x 3ft x 3ft viv, once baby beardie (which we've not yet bought, hope to buy in around 10 days) is around 4 months old.
Before I buy the beardie, I want to make sure the temp/humidity right. Viv is completely bare aside from slate on the bottom, left side 100w solar basking bulb (arcadia), and also left side ProT5 24w 12% (arcadia)...at the Basking Spot end the temperature is bouncing between 38.5 - 38.9 and humidity 21-23 %, and at the Cooler end of the viv, the temp is 26.1 and 49% humidity....temperature/humidity measured 1 inch above substrate level. Do I need to add more ventilation at the cool end? Thanks - The Callaghan Posse :)
I'll be honest it does sound like you have it pretty spot on at the moment. The higher hummidity on the cool side isn't an issue. In the wild under bushes when they cool down it's slightly higher hummidity . Don't use my substrate tho. It's a vet recommended because when I rescued him he had a foot issue and this helps his foot. Only another few months of this substrate and it can be changed
NORTHERN EXOTICS managed to raise hot end to 40, humidity 17 and cooler end temp is 28 and 37 humidity. Substrate, I think I’ll stick with slate tiles til he’s around 6 months then will swap out for sand. Thanks
@NORTHERNEXOTICS what substrate do you reccomend? I have tile. I hear that some tiles aren't good. Not sure what kind I have though
I just got a 6 month old bearded dragon and I can’t get the humidity down under 60% i Tried everything I’ve been researching for a day and a half and I cannot find anything that works do you have any suggestions please help
I got my beardie on papertowel since its a juvi. But my humidity hits 70% at night unless i keep the heatlamp on then it stays around 60. Im thinking about just putting in sand in hopes it will lower the levels.
Could your hygrometer be wrong? I'd avoid sand at all costs
Put some Damp Rid containers near the enclosure to help drop humidity in the room
I'm in the exact opposite situation by humidity stays in between 20 to 25% I've tried missing it it goes up for about 10 minutes and goes right back down. I do have the vents closed for the AC unit would it help if I open them up
I need help lowering the humidity, it is humid here, I took out my beardies water dish, he is crackling in his lungs, not sure what else to do. Please help
My temperature is reading in tropical area, not desert.
Sounds like he has a respiratory infection. Take him to a vet and get antibiotics. They can become deadly.
Thank you so much!! This helped so much!!
I've heard putting computer fans in ventilation holes works
You have to put the fans donit sucks air out of the enclosure for that to work but it can also cause a draft inside the enclosure . A draft with low outside air temp could cause other problems that I'm not willing to risk
i’ve got a huge problem: my bearded dragons tank is at 70% humidity. i have many vents, have my water dish on the cold side and under some props, etc. i haven’t tried the sock thing yet, but if anybody here has got any extra advice, please lmk

Maybe your gauge is faulty?
NORTHERN EXOTICS thank you for replying, I will buy a better one. Also can I ask you for advice on his breathing? I can send you a video of him breathing at night I’m not sure if it’s normal it looks heavy!!
@@alexiavenuto2494 he probably has an infection or is sick . Take him to the vet asap
My bearded dragon juts spiked to 65 somehow over night and it won’t go down I moved the water dish all the way to the right and it still didn’t go down ( my tank I think is possibly 30 ish gallon probably more idk my dad bought it for me
It takes time for hummidity to escape the enclosure. Move the bowl and check tomorrow. A spike in hummidity for a few days won't harm them. They see it in the wild with regular rain storms
Take the water dish out it evaporates and causes humidity
In the UK it is law to always supply fresh drinking water even tho you and I both know having one in the setup could cause breathing issues it's classed as animal abuse to not have a water bowl ....how bad is that
is 50 bad humidity for beardies? i can keep the humidity down during the day but spikes up to 50 at night help please
It should be okay
I recently put loose substrate in my 120 gal tank and it was at a steady 40 with tile but once I put everything in it showed 95 will this lower in a few days ?
Did it for you? I switched my substrate last night and it didn't dry all the way..
So I ended up going half loose and half tile just so it wasn’t much of a hassle every month when I have to put new loose substrate in, and it’s been a perfect 40 during the day and around 50 at night! So I recommend doing half if you don’t want to do half. What I did was add more sand so it was more dry. Good luck!😁
What heat lightbulb should I use for a 10 gallon tank? I already have a uvb light but it doesn’t produce enough heat so if you could answer my question it would really help me out.
How bout NO water bowl? I was told by vets and breeders said a water bowl in a dragon's cage was bad.
You are correct. I 100% agree . I did advice that in a video a long time ago but got so much hate and I got reported to the animal welfare. This is a technical grey area. For the animals health keep the water bowl out. But law regarding having pets is they need access to fresh water all the time. Because these are classed under pets the law states I need to have a water bowl.
They get there moisture from there food
Another great video dude. Looks like I need to add a few more hygrometers to my beardies viv.
they are extremly useful. most people that wonder why there beardie isnt eating everyone asks what temps are but in reality alot of the times its the humidity thats the issue.
Hello thank you for the video, you might not see this but my Humidity is around 60% I don’t know what to do because he whole top is like a screen door, and I took out the water dish, and it hasn’t worked, so you have any more tips?
There are loads of tips in this video. Failing them tips check if the enclosure is near any hummid enclosure move it to a dryer area of the house
NORTHERN EXOTICS is it okay if I have my enclosure near a window? Will it lower the humidity or will it just increase it?
Awesome video, very helpful
thanks a million. it was based around when i was looking for this knowledge a year ago ,i couldnt really find anything. hopefully what ive learnt will help others
NORTHERN EXOTICS I totally agree with you, beaded dragons are awesome pets but suffer from not having the correct care so if you can help even one that’s awesome
I currently dont have a dehumidifier and my bearded dragon tank ranges aroun 47-50% humidity most of the time. Is that to high?
I'm getting a bearded dragon soon & I've done a lot of research on them, but it says they carry salmonella and I was wondering how common is it to catch it from them?
most reptile carry it in some form but its totally harmless. keep ontop of hygiene. wash your hands when you do anything with him . cleaning him out or handle him just keep clean just like you would with any pet
NORTHERN EXOTICS thanks
As long as you dont lick them and wash after cleaning up their feces you're safe. I remember panic mode set in when I read it, but did my research.
Mine did the opposite. I covered the enclosure all the way and the humidity dropped more wtf
Where did you find the ventilation strip that runs the entire length of the enclosure? What is it called?
I ❤ you! Thanks
Starts at 1.38
What if I have a glass terrarium so i can't just drill holes in it? Unfortunately my room has inside something like 70/80% humidity and I need it to be way lower (like 50/60%) to keep the frogs I've been dreaming
Get a dehumidifier
Could I use brown rice?
Don't see why not
Okay so I got my bearded dragon a couple days ago and I need serious advice nobody helped me with any of this. So I was reading and you said no glass tanks why is that what should I be using instead? Also I have a screen top and my uv and heat lamp are a double duo and sit on top is that okay? One more question is my humidity is 50 percent and the detector is right in the middle of the tank should I have put it somewhere else ?
Since making this video I've realised that people in America comment use glass so it's acceptable there. Here in the UK it increases hummidity and inside the glass can return a reflection of the bearded dragon and cause aggression. The duo's are okay. Sometimes called mercury vapour bulbs. If you've only had the bearded dragon a few days it sometimes take a week for the hummidity to drop . If it doesn't try some of the tips in the vodeo
Thank you I’ve been so nervous lol. One more question and I really appreciate you responding is it okay for my tank to be 80 at night ?
Yea. That's fine
Came here after having super high humidity in Louisiana. I want a bearded dragon but I don’t know if I should knowing that our average humidity is 90%. I don’t want it to get respiratory issues. Should I get one or is it just selfish to get one in these conditions?
Maybe not . There are ways to reduce it but it will be a constant struggle
I have a glass tank therefore I am not able to drill holes to vent. Do you have any other ideas for those of us who have a glass enclosure?
Mesh top will let out alot of hummidity . Dryer substrate. Rice sock.
Rice? Instant rice? Regular rice?
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS the 75 gallon tank has a screen top. Humidity today was 42% but when it's 81% humidity outside the house inside the tank will run 51%🤦
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS Thank you for replying back to me. Appreciate your efforts of help.
Yea. It's all in the video . A sock full of dry rice
I need hELPP! I have a leopard gecko and they need the humidity to be 20%-40% and it’s almost to 70% !!!!
Is there a substrate? Take it out. Do all the tricks in this video and it should help in a few days . Sometimes it can take a while to reduce
What if the tank is glass? How would I lower it then? Is it the same?
It's never ideal to have them in a glass tank. Kind of frowned upon but if that's what you decide to do then all well . You can still do everything except ventalation to which you could use a mesh material for the lid to allow great circulation
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS Ok, thanks! I have a mesh top for it. I'll try the other stuff though, and if that doesn't work, I'll just replace the tank with something better.
A little computer fan setup to suck the air out of the enclosure can help loads but it's noisy
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS Ok, maybe I'll try that. As far as the noise goes, that's fine. I just want to lower the humidity to prevent future problems for my dragon.
Thank you so much for telling me how to fix it!
Should I be concerned at 45% ?
Not really no
NORTHERN EXOTICS Okay thanks
I got mine at 31
You shouldnt have a water dish in a dragons enclosure it will evaporate under the heat lamp and create humidity and your dragon will get respiratory infections
I'm 100% with you . I never do have it in but the RSPCA in the UK tried to get me done for animal abuse for not allowing fresh water so now I put it in for the camrea
New to all this. If they don't have a water dish how do they drink?
I live in Kansas City MO, Just got a bearded dragon. I have a LOT of humidity because of the area that I live in. I have been able to control it somehow during the day but at night when I turn off the light the humidity spikes up all the way to 65 to 70% I just got a dehumidifier. hopefully, this works. is there anything else that i can do?
Let me know if it helps
Is it ok for my tank to be at 60 percent humidity at night
I have this problem, during the day it’s fine but at night when the heat lamp is off it goes to 60.
Ernesto Zulueta i think its ok because in the desert the humidity moves up at night so i think it wont hurt it but if it gets obove 70 percent its bad
Mine during the day is at 36 and at nights goes up to 48....y'alls I think is way to high
Good news, have first two baby tangerines hatched last night and this morning :) both lovely, healthy looking and full of energy :)
BTW 5 mins into upload and already dislike :) that moron must be so butt-hurt
awww mate... im dead happy for you. was it day 55 they hatched?
im used to the dislikes now haha. i just laugh about it
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS yeah mate I guess you can only laugh :)
And no they hatched at day 45 and 46 so two little males.
MINES AT 80 BRO I NEED HELP
Have you got new substrate that's damp?
NORTHERN EXOTICS, I’m new to this, just got him today, I think it’s just my house, but I found out the water bowl can’t be under the light lol, should’ve been common sense😂 but it dropped down to 60, still unsure how to get it better :/
Do all the tricks in the video and over the next few days it'll drop a load. It's not dead harmful to have high humidity for a day or two. Let's face it they have thunderstorms and rainstorms in Australia
NORTHERN EXOTICS, Sounds good man, thanks for the tips, subscribed👌🏼
Thanks a million
i need to lower it by 20%
May take a few days to lower. Good luck
thx i appreciate it
wait how often do i switch it?
Switch what exacly ?
the sock
I'm 10 percent over
apply these tricks and in a few days you should see a good drop in humidity
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS I did and it increased to around 70
your humidity has increased... thats strange. how are you.measuring your humidity
@@NORTHERNEXOTICS I have a thermometer that also measures humidity on both warm and cool areas
and both hot and cold side are reading 70% humidity?
These tricks aren’t working for me
Before thanking your humidity is too high and doing things to lower it if you have an analog thermometer like the ones in these videos they are completely inaccurate. Switch to the digital ones.
Every hygrometer is accurate within 2 years of its life . The inaccuracy comes from installation being incorrect weather it be the sticky tab that holds it to the wall not being correctly fitted. ( Most have a polo like hole in the middle that needs removing and alot of people don't take it out like instructions read) or the wrong placement in the enclosure. Digital have a tendancy to fail more frequent as has mine my dearded dragon enclosure due to electrical and fine components corroding over time and also keep in mind high humidity enclosures like my Savannah monitor. The electrical digital hygrometers fail within a year. The correct placement has always baffled me which is the reason I have more then one in my enclosure. Your creating a environment suitable for your species . Humidity rises . A correctly installed hygrometer will read higher the higher up you place it. This is also the reason alot of big named people place there hygrometer on the floor of there enclosure for grown dwelling species . You want to read the humidity at the level your animal spends most of its time. It's a tricky one really because ball pythons spend most of there time in a hide so that's where the digitals may come in alot more useful with a probe under the hide.
The inaccuracy is a sciantificly proven fact. They are all accurate upto 2 years of life providing installed as per the instructions.
Dude my tanks at 80%
How'd u fix it
@@ElectricHeaded you gotta dry the air useing a de humidifier
please help! my humidity levels are around 60 and it wont go down! i have no water dish and have a screen top that ventilates, but i use a repti carpet... what should i do?!
Leave it a day or 2 and see what it's at. Takes time for humidity to drop. Failing that check the hygrometer is working
NORTHERN EXOTICS ok, I added the rice filled sock this morning. And I should be turning his lights off at night, right?
All lights are 12 hours on and 12 hours off
NORTHERN EXOTICS ok thanks
